WebMoney virtual card. How to link a virtual card to WebMoney
Those who are engaged in blogging, Internet business, and there are more and more of them every year, have electronic wallets. And in first place in popularity is WebMoney electronic wallets.
They use the Knowhow service, and since October 2015, Chelpachenko’s expert group, which I supervise, began using its services.
It is clear to everyone that paying by card is modern, but, as practice has shown, not everyone has plastic bank cards. Even those who have e-wallets often do not have a card.
It’s good that electronic money services understand this and in their arsenal they have a wonderful service of providing a virtual card that is linked to an electronic wallet account.
A virtual card is absolutely the same card as a regular bank plastic card, only it does not have a physical basis. It is located on the Internet, if you can call it that, and has all the data and details.
This article discusses the most popular electronic money service WebMoney and I want to show in a video tutorial how you can get a virtual WebMoney card by linking it to your electronic wallet.
I prepared this video lesson specifically for the participants of Chelpachenko’s expert group, but I am sure that it will be useful for everyone who wants to make purchases, both physical goods and information products with training programs. Happy viewing, friends!

A WebMoney plastic card is a convenient alternative to a regular debit card from your bank. With its help, you can pay for purchases in regular stores and withdraw cash from any ATM. It is linked and has a common balance with the electronic wallet. Therefore, you will no longer have to pay an additional commission for withdrawing funds from your WebMoney account to a bank card.
WebMoney Card can be used as a replacement for a regular plastic card. Before receiving it, carefully read its features. Take them into account when withdrawing cash and paying for goods in offline stores:
If the above features suit you and you are ready to order a WebMoney Card, then we will tell you how to apply for it.
Procedure for obtaining a plastic card
You can use plastic from WebMoney to pay on the Internet and in regular stores. To get it you need:
- Contact a branch of Otkritie or Russian Standard banks. You can view their list for your city on the website of the electronic payment system or through the bank’s website.
- Fill out an application for a card and indicate your passport and other data (the original document is required).
- If you already have a WebMoney account, then you need to enter its details (WMID, wallet number) in the form. If it is not there, it will be opened automatically. For convenience, print out a special invitation from the official WebMoney website. It contains all the necessary information.
- You can also fill out an application for receiving “plastic” from WebMoney online. To do this, go to the website of Otkritie Bank or Russian Standard Bank and fill out the form. Additionally, you will need to provide your phone number and email address.
Webmoney cards are issued only to persons who have reached the age of majority. To open a debit card at a bank, the client must be at least 14 years old (21 years old for a credit card). Russian Standard Bank issues cards only to residents of Russia aged 21 to 65 years.
Procedure for obtaining a Virtual Card
To receive a virtual card, you must register in the WebMoney system or log in using your account information. Before ordering it, make sure that you have a certificate of at least a formal one (to obtain it, you must provide passport details, upload a photograph or a photocopy of the document for verification).
After that:
After this, you will immediately receive your Virtual Card details. They will be needed to pay for purchases on the Internet. You can view all ordered virtual cards at any time through your personal account.
In the WebMoney payment system you can create virtual MasterCard and Visa bank cards. In this article we will examine in detail the process of creating a virtual MasterCard (hereinafter -MC). A Visa card is created in exactly the same way.
A virtual card is created very easily and quickly - in just 1-2 minutes, but it is clear that for this you must first have created an account in the payment system. The MS card is created only for ruble accounts, but it can also be used to pay bills in foreign currency, and the conversion occurs automatically.
To create a card, go to your account in the “My WebMoney” tab:
Fig.1 (To enlarge any picture, click on it)
In the “Instant issue of a virtual card” line, click on the WMR link (arrow). In the page that opens, carefully read all the information and at the very bottom of the page click the “Order a card” button. A new page will open:
Enter the password for your wallet and the number from the picture (captcha). Click “Login”. You will be sent an SMS with a code to verify your WMID, or this verification will be done in some other way - depending on the settings of your wallet.
After the message about checking WMID, a page will open with a choice of different types of cards:
How to choose the right type of card?
In order to select the desired card, click on any circle next to its name - a gray area with text will appear under the card icons. Read the descriptions of each card and decide which one best suits your needs based on the estimated number of payments with it. For most, I think, a card for 1 month is quite suitable, in fact, for a one-time purchase. Let's consider it.
After selecting a card, you must indicate the initial card limit (in the lower left corner).
How to determine the limit on a card?
This is very easy to do if you need to pay an invoice issued in Russian rubles. You just need to add the system commission to the invoice amount.
If the invoice is issued in another currency (dollars, euros, etc.), then you must first find out how much it will be in rubles at the WebMoney rate. To do this, you need to log into your WebMoney account and select a wallet with rubles. Right-click on it and a context menu will open:
Click on the line “Exchange WM* to WM*”, another window will open:
Enter the amount of the invoice issued to you in the “I will give” column, the system will automatically convert it into rubles. You can do the opposite: indicate the amount in rubles and it will become clear to you how much it will be in dollars. Try it, there is nothing complicated here.
Don’t forget to add commissions to this amount; you can determine them by eye - with a slight excess. If a few rubles remain after payment, then below I will show you how to return them to your wallet. Unless, of course, you want to leave them on the card for future payments.
Having decided on the limit amount, click “Next”. A page will open with your data taken from your WebMoney passport. Check everything to see if there are any changes.
In the third step you need to define with SMS messages:
Here you need to check everything and put a tick in the “I confirm...” box. The payment page will open:
With this payment you must transfer the required amount to the card and pay for its registration. Then make payment as usual. After making the payment, you will immediately receive a message in your wallet:
And at the same time a message with the following content will be sent to your mobile phone:
“Card *4577 code CVC2: 123, expiration date: 2015/01.”
Figure 7 shows a WM chat message, which says that in order to see the newly created card in the list of your wallets, you need to refresh the page (balance). No matter how I tried to do it, nothing worked out for me. I had to close and open my wallet and only then did I see my card:
Now my virtual card is ready to pay for purchases or pay for some services.
By the way, you can manage it using a special service from WebMoney - wm-card.com.
Now let's look at the issue of the remaining money on the card after making a purchase.
Log into your WebMoney account and right-click on the line with the virtual card. In the window that appears, click on the line “Top up WM wallet”.
After paying the bill, I had 14 rubles 97 kopecks left on my card. It is this amount that is indicated in this window, and it is this amount that can be returned to my main wallet (or less, of course). You need to indicate in the top window the amount you want to transfer to your ruble wallet. You will immediately be shown the amount that will be credited including commissions.
Click “Continue” and the money is instantly transferred from the card to the wallet.
Conclusion
The process of creating a map is quite simple and takes little time. Although some aspects, in my opinion, are unnecessarily complicated compared, for example, with the creation of virtual cards in the QIWI payment system. And besides, this procedure is completely free.
The international payment system WebMoney allows you to quickly and easily create a special virtual bank card. The card is created only for accounts that are replenished with rubles, but you can pay any bills with it - currency conversion occurs automatically. To create a card, the user must have a certificate in the WebMoney system at a level higher than the formal one. WebMoney virtual cards can be created both on the basis of the Visa system and on the basis of the MasterCard system. Using such a card, you can make online purchases and cashless payments for bills and services.
Create a virtual WebMoney card
If you are registered in the system and have a certificate of the appropriate level, creating a virtual card in the WebMoney system takes a minimum amount of time - no more than 10 minutes. To do this, you need to log in to the system, go to the virtual card order section and select the type of payment card and its limit. Then you need to complete the order by confirming and transfer the payment. An SMS with the details of the ordered card - number, code and expiration date - will be sent to the phone number specified during registration in the WebMoney system. Just like a regular bank card, you can connect a paid SMS notification service to the WebMoney virtual card.
Users often consider one of the disadvantages of Webmoney to be the lack of their own card (Yandex.money has a MasterCard), which greatly complicates the withdrawal of cash. However, for more convenient use of the WebMoney electronic payment system, the service provides the opportunity to either attach an existing Visa or MasterCard card to your wallet, or order a new one, which will initially be linked to the wallet. At the moment, a WebMoney plastic card can be opened in banks:
- Ocean
- Alfa Bank
- Promsvyazbank
- Conservative Commercial Bank
- HandyBank
- NCC-Union
The amount of the commission, the current currency, the validity period of the card, as well as tariffs and the method of replenishing the account will depend on the selected bank. The ordered cards will have a standard design and their main purpose is to withdraw cash from an electronic wallet at the ATMs of the relevant banks. You can order several cards at once from the same or different banks.
To issue a bank card linked to a WebMoney wallet, you must have a certificate of at least a formal one, and all specified data must be confirmed. In order to link an existing card to your wallet, you must additionally verify it. New cards are delivered to customers by mail. The cards available for order allow you to withdraw money in dollars or euros (depending on the WM account) and withdraw cash in any country in the world.
When the card is linked to a wallet, it is displayed in the “Finance” - “Cards” section. You can top up your balance by opening the card’s context menu or the Webmoney Cards page. This service is engaged in accepting orders for production, linking existing ones and servicing cards of users of the WebMoney system.
Advantages of a WebMoney plastic card
A plastic card allows you to pay using an electronic wallet in stores (online and traditional), cafes, shopping centers, etc. Additional advantages include the fact that the card will be linked to the wallet automatically. And transferring money both from card to wallet and back will happen instantly. Also, a relatively small commission for deposits and withdrawals usually does not exceed 3%. And the user receives bonuses for money transactions made (bonus when using a Russian Standard card - 1.1%). Also, 1% of the cost of each purchase over 100 rubles paid with such a card will be returned to the owner’s account. Another significant advantage is that there is no commission when withdrawing money from your bank’s ATM.
Also, owners of plastic cards have access to SMS information services, account control and other services of the bank from which the card was ordered.
Webmoney credit card
Owners of WebMoney plastic cards can contact their bank and, if necessary, open a credit line. The loan that you can get is quite impressive and ranges (depending on the bank and type of card) from 150 to 700 thousand rubles. The interest rate is also high - 25-36% per year. Webmoney cardholders are provided with preferential loans for up to 55 days. Also, if you keep your savings on a credit card, the bank will charge an additional 10% per year.
How to get a Webmoney plastic card
The main conditions for obtaining a WebMoney plastic card are age (the user must be over 14 years old for a debit card and 21 years old for a credit card) and Russian citizenship.
If these conditions are met, you can either come to the bank with your passport and fill out an application form on the spot and receive a card there, or leave an application on the bank’s website and receive the card by mail. If you have an electronic wallet at the time of creating the application, you should indicate its number. It is important, when picking up the card, to take a printout with the code for linking the electronic wallet to the plastic card.
Often, when applying, banks require additional documents, such as income certificates, a copy of the work book and foreign passport, etc.
Receiving a virtual card
Participants in the Webmoney system over 16 years of age with a formal certificate can receive a virtual service card. Servicing the card will cost 1% of the top-up amount, an additional 10 rubles will be withdrawn upon opening.
To register, you need to open the WM-Card website and select “Order a card”
There will be 4 types of cards available to choose from. Below there will be a field with the card limit. There you need to enter the replenishment amount.
The system will independently extract all the necessary information from your profile, but in order to avoid mistakes, it is better to double-check it.
Then you need to decide whether you need to activate SMS notifications (cost 30 rubles/month). If you agree, you need to check the specified phone number.
Then you should check the card settings one last time. Check the box next to agreeing to the terms and conditions and select “Confirm”.
At the final stage, the card must be paid using the Merchant service, after which the full number will be available on the WMKeeper page, and all other information will be sent via SMS message.
