Sight from Oreshkin latest patch. Latest update information
Description
Many tankers have raised their skill level in the game thanks to the popularity of various tank videos on the Youtube video hosting site. Wargaming also maintains contact with the audience through official channels on Youtube, as well as various entertainment projects. For those players who have been playing World of Tanks for quite some time, the name Kirill Oreshkin is probably familiar, as is how beautiful his animated sights are. Probably almost every player has seen the best replays of the week recorded with this particular client modification at least once.
The modification presented to your attention this time “a set of sights by Kirill Oreshkin for WOT 1.6.0.0” is actually a whole package of sights used by this player for World of Tanks. As you can check for yourself, it is with these sights that Kirill Oreshkin himself plays. Moreover, in the archive you can also find two additional variations of sights - green and blue.
Installing these sight modifications will not create any difficulties even for a modern child - just download the archive from the site, unpack it and copy the mods folder from it to the folder with the World of Tanks game client. When you request, you must also confirm that you agree to replace files with the same name.

Latest update information: Updated for 1.2
Important: In mid-summer 2019, a new patch will be released and the installation folder for mods will change; now they need to be installed in the WOT/res_mods/1.5.1/ and WOT/mods/1.5.1/ folders. Most of the mods are working, just move them to the 1.5.1 folder, if one of the mods still doesn’t work, wait for it to be adapted on our website.
This scope is used by the head of the WGTV team, Kirill Oreshkin, the author of the excellent program Best Replays of the Week. The mod changes the interface of the standard sight and adds a new reload animation to the aim.
Review of the sight by Kirill Oreshkin
First, about the arcade mode. Here the color has changed from green to turquoise and the targeting marker has completely changed, now it is made in the form of a dot in a square. This marker is more visible against the background of vegetation than the standard black one. The numbers remain unchanged, everything is in its place - the reload timer, the number of hit points and the remaining shells.
In sniper aiming mode, a new information immediately catches your eye. Unlike the standard one, which is not very noticeable, the new one is much wider, and for its design a thin circle was used, around which there are eight curved turquoise stripes.
The reload animation has become more beautiful, now instead of filling red with green, the aiming color changes and a red animation spins around it.
By the way, if you liked the information, you can download it from, where the author added more than a dozen different information from many authors.

Updated 02/06/2018:- adapted for 0.9.22;
Regular viewers of official Wargaming.net video projects will probably recognize this sight. Playing with him is Kirill Oreshkin, the author and presenter of “the best replays of the week”, “VBR” and many useful videos on World of Tanks. The sight is notable for its animation and this is what is most memorable. At first, the aiming indicator rotating around the aiming point and the reload animation are a bit distracting. But, having gotten used to it after just a couple of battles, players begin to actively use the informative and ergonomic design.
The mod makes changes to all three aiming modes, and all three are carefully designed. The standard “pointer” in the form of a crosshair has been replaced - a marker indicating the center of your field of view. The pointer is made more visible for all aiming modes and is additionally equipped with a square frame. Such seemingly small changes seriously improve the comfort of aiming and the game in general.
In arcade mode, Kirill Oreshkin's sight shows readiness to fire, reload time, number of shells and the percentage of hit points remaining on your tank. As you can see in the screenshot, the information does not interfere with the view at all, and the aiming marker is such that it is almost impossible to aim incorrectly.
The sniper scope, in addition to the arcade functions, contains a penetration probability indicator. The probability value, however, is very approximate, since it does not take into account various screens, the presence of vulnerabilities, etc.
An artillery (strategic) sight shows in a large, visible font the distance to the target, since knowledge of it is critical for estimating the flight time of a projectile and calculating the aiming lead. In addition, it has an interesting function of displaying the player’s name and the model of his combat vehicle in the sight.
In all modes, for tanks with cassette or drum loading, information about the number of shells in the cassette/drum is displayed in the sight.
Installation:
- Download and unpack the archive - it contains two variants of the sight, differing in color (turquoise or green).
- Select your color scheme and copy the files from the appropriate folder to the game directory - to the res_mods folder for the current version of the client.
- Launch the game and evaluate the new functionality.
