The procedure for disassembling a complete AK 47.
1. First, let's look at the components of the Kalashnikov assault rifle with which we have to work, and these parts of this weapon are shown below in the figure. Before we begin partial assembly and disassembly of the machine, we need to know which components it consists. So, a Kalashnikov assault rifle contains a magazine, a cleaning rod, a pencil case with accessories, a fuse, a return mechanism (or just a spring), a bolt frame, a bolt, a cover receiver, gas pipe closure and gas pipe.
2. So, you can start disassembling the Kalashnikov assault rifle. First, we disconnect the magazine. We pull back the latch, which is located at the base of the magazine. It is easy to press and can be moved to the side without any problems, after which the magazine can be easily and without any difficulty removed.
3. Next, remove the machine from the fuse. In this case, it simply goes down. Then we perform an action called a “control release.” To do this, it will be enough to jerk the shutter and fire a control shot in the direction away from you.
4. Next, take out the cleaning rod. As a rule, it is removed very simply, but there are also cases when it cannot be affected. Then it is better to knock it out with the side of the wrist. Be careful, because you can accidentally injure your hand if you strike the ramrod unsuccessfully. Forewarned is forearmed.
5. Next, take out the pencil case with the accessory. The picture shows its location. It's in the butt. To remove it carefully, you need to press the latch and sink your finger into it 2-3 centimeters. In this matter, the main thing is not to overdo it. And if you put your finger on greater depth into the latch, it may get stuck there, and this feeling, believe me, is not a pleasant one. This procedure is usually not mandatory, but it is included in the army incomplete assembly- disassembling the machine.
6. Next we deal with the receiver cover. To do this, press the spring holder and disconnect the cover from the general body. Next, we take out the return mechanism and push it forward so that it comes out of the bolt. Then we lift it and remove it from the nest.
7. The next step is to take out the frame with this same shutter, first pull it all the way back, then lift it up and remove it from the shutter. Then remove the rifle bolt from the bolt frame. To do this, lower the shutter with the frame onto the table, twist it clockwise so that it comes out of the grooves and remove it forward.
8. Don't forget about the gas tube. To do this, lift its contactor (or, as they say in the army, “flag”) and simply take out the gas pipe. Make all movements carefully so as not to scatter the constituent objects on the floor and table.
9. Well, that's all! Incomplete disassembly is considered complete. As a result, you should get approximately the same as shown in the picture below. Assembly should be carried out according to the same principle, only in reverse order. That is, the first thing to assemble is the accessory that you used last during the disassembly process. As a rule, the standard for incomplete assembly and disassembly of an assault rifle in the army is 30 seconds. Personally, I do it twice as fast. I have friends who can do it in 11 seconds, but these are already record holders. If you are new to this business, then at the first stage it is important for you to learn how to correct sequence assemble and disassemble the machine.

FROM THE HISTORY OF THE CREATION OF THE AUTOMATIC MACHINE
KALASHNIKOV AK-47
In 1943, the USSR created a new cartridge with a caliber of 7.62 mm, which received the designation “7.62 mm cartridge of the 1943 model.” By power and firing range new ammunition took a position between pistol and rifle cartridges. Soon the development of the family began for a new cartridge small arms, which was supposed to replace Mosin rifles and submachine guns PPSh (submachine gun designed by Shpagin) and PPS (submachine gun Sudaev).
Work on a new class of weapons, designated in the West as “ assault rifle”, and in the USSR as an “automatic machine”, began in 1944 by several leading “rifle” design bureaus Soviet Union– Simonova, Degtyareva, Sudaeva, etc.
In 1945 Main artillery department(GAU) The Red Army (the main customer of small arms in the USSR) announced a competition for the creation of a new machine gun chambered for a 1943 model rifle cartridge. Among the main demands the following were put forward: high accuracy combat, limited weight and dimensions of the weapon, trouble-free operation, survivability of parts, simplicity of the design of the future machine gun.
In 1946 Senior Sergeant of the Armored Forces Mikhail Kalashnikov joined the work, at that time - an employee of the Central Research Site for Small Arms and Mortars (NIPSMVO) of the GAU RKKA.
As a result of the competitions, the winners were the Simonov SKS self-loading carbine and the Kalashnikov assault rifle, whichwas put into service under the designation AK-47 in 1949 .
GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS AND DEVICE OF THE MACHINE
KALASHNIKOV (AK-47)
The Kalashnikov assault rifle model 1947 (AK-47), adopted for service in early 1949, was created to chamber a new 7.62-mm cartridge of Soviet design, which occupied an intermediate position in power between a rifle and a pistol. Due to its simplicity of design, low weight and reliability, the AK-47 quickly replaced self-loading carbines, submachine guns and repeating rifles. Simultaneously with the AK-47, its version AKS-47 with a folding stock for airborne troops was adopted.

Throughout its existence, it has broken all imaginable records. Until now, no other weapon in the world can compete with it in terms of such indicators as the number of units produced, the number of countries arming their armies with it, its prevalence in the world, participation in armed conflicts and wars. Assembling and disassembling an AK is one of the mandatory standards for all police soldiers, security department employees, military doctors and many others. Enough long time this skill was taught to all schoolchildren without exception as part of the discipline “Initial military training”.
A modification of the machine gun, adopted for service in 1974, received the name AK-74. Assembling and disassembling it as a whole is not much different, but it has several features of its own. Let's look at this process in detail.
Why disassemble the machine?
Many of those who picked up a weapon for the first time have questions about the advisability of assembling and disassembling. And old warriors know that the machine gun loves to be taken care of. Cleaned and lubricated, it will serve the fighter faithfully for many years.
Indeed, assembly and disassembly is carried out primarily for the purpose of inspection and cleaning. Even if the machine gun was not fired, this procedure is necessary. Weapons that have undergone combat or training shooting need cleaning even more.
Types of disassembly
Before you start learning, you always need to get to the bottom of things. Professionals distinguish between two types of disassembly and assembly of Kalashnikov assault rifles: incomplete and complete. The beginning of these processes is approximately the same, but even from the name it is clear what their main difference is. Incomplete disassembly and reassembly AK-74 is intended for cleaning, lubricating and inspecting the machine gun. As a rule, it is carried out once every 2-3 days, even if the weapon was not fired. The intensity of cleaning depends on the condition of the machine and the degree of contamination with powder gases. After shooting, you will have to carefully work on each spare part, and for unfired weapons, sometimes a dry wipe with a special rag is sufficient.
Complete disassembly and reassembly of the AK-74 is used if the machine gun has become heavily soiled or has been lying in water, sand or snow for a long time. This procedure is also appropriate when switching to a new lubricating oil. Of course, you cannot do without complete disassembly during repairs. This process has two features: firstly, it is advisable to carry it out under the supervision of an experienced gunsmith, and secondly, you should not carry out complete disassembly unless necessary - the weapon does not like this, its parts wear out faster.
Process Features
The rules that are common to cleaning all machine guns in the series also apply to the AK-74.
- Assembly and disassembly is carried out on a table or a clean cloth mat.
- All parts and mechanisms are laid out side by side in the order of disassembly, and not on top of each other.
- No extra effort should be used.
Regarding the last point, even new recruits know that if something requires the use of brute force, something has gone wrong. The procedure for assembling and disassembling the AK-74 is always the same. In general, the Kalashnikov assault rifle is designed in such a way that every action can be performed in one and only way - the correct way. The desire to tug or push harder indicates only one thing: the action is incorrect. If something doesn’t fit somewhere, then it doesn’t belong there. In this case, it is worth removing the part and trying to do the movement again. Typically, using this simple rule the error can be quickly detected.
Procedure for partial disassembly
Before disassembling, you must remove underbarrel grenade launcher and a bayonet, if used.

Cleaning weapons
A machine disassembled for spare parts is usually cleaned immediately. Of course, if we are not talking exclusively about the standard for assembly and disassembly of the AK-74.
For cleaning and preventative lubrication of the machine, use:
- RFS solution to remove powder deposits;
- gun lubricant;
- rags;
- flax fiber for cleaning the bore.
Cleaning and lubrication should begin after disassembling the machine and thoroughly inspecting it. You should not use foreign objects for this process that are not provided for in the instructions. All cleaned parts and mechanisms should be wiped dry and only then begin to lubricate. Do not overfill the machine with oil, as this will speed up its wear. The parts and mechanisms of the AK-74, the assembly and disassembly of which was carried out for the purpose of inspection, cleaning and lubrication, must be coated with a thin layer of weapon oil. Excess can be removed with a clean rag.
Assembly order
The AK-74 assault rifle is assembled in reverse order.
- Screw it on muzzle brake to the barrel thread.
- We return the gas tube to its place by sliding its front end onto the gas chamber. Using the tools, turn the contactor.
- We attach the bolt to the bolt frame. To do this, insert its cylindrical part into the bolt frame channel and turn it so that its leading protrusion fits into the figured cutout of the frame.
- We insert the bolt frame into the receiver, holding the bolt.
- We insert the return mechanism into place - into the channel of the bolt frame. In this case, his heel should lie in a special recess on the back of the receiver.
- We put on the receiver cover.
- We release the cocked hammer, pointing the barrel of the weapon upward.
- We put the safety on the machine gun, raising the fire mode selector all the way up.
- We put the cleaning rod in place, put the tool in the pencil case, and return it to the socket.
- We are adding a store.
AK-74 assembly and disassembly standards
Previously, the procedure for temporarily disassembling a machine gun was mandatory for soldiers of absolutely all branches of the USSR army. Today, the feasibility of this action has been largely revised, but the relevance of the speed of assembly and disassembly is not questioned. In addition, in many units, the assembly and disassembly of the AK-74 is temporarily carried out in the form of competitions. The procedure and technology are regulated by the army-wide “Firing Course”. The same document also specifies the time frame for all procedures.
Standards for partial disassembly of AK-74:
- In 13 seconds - “excellent”;
- in 14 seconds - “good”;
- in 17 seconds - “satisfactory”.
Assembly standards after partial disassembly:

Record
Do not think that 36 seconds (13+23) is the minimum time in which the AK-74 can be assembled and disassembled. The record is much lower than these figures. Today, many military school cadets, professional soldiers and ordinary weapons lovers are challenging the world championship, but the official winner has not been announced. The matter is complicated by the fact that there are clear requirements for recognition of a record. Firstly, spare parts of the machine gun should not fly apart in all directions, much less fall to the floor, and many potential record holders do not take this rule entirely responsibly. Secondly, the order of assembly and disassembly should not be violated. In addition, the record will not be counted if at least one part is separated from the machine gun in any way not regulated by the “Firing Course”. If a fighter makes at least one mistake that could result in injury to a person or damage to a machine gun, then we cannot talk not only about a record, but also about passing the standard itself.
Disassembling, assembling and loading the magazine
Standards exist not only for the AK-74 assault rifle itself. Assembly and disassembly, cleaning and equipment are temporarily carried out for stores. In battle, the speed of loading a magazine with cartridges directly affects the preservation of life. And not only one submachine gunner, but also the whole group. An “excellent” test is considered to include loading a magazine with thirty rounds of ammunition in 30 seconds. There is no standard for temporarily assembling and disassembling a magazine as such, since this procedure is not carried out very often outside of a combat situation, and the time it takes largely depends on age and condition internal spring. And yet, after contact with sand or moisture, this must be done.
In order to disassemble the magazine, you must first remove the cartridges from it if it was loaded. Then turn it upside down with the blind part and gently press the button, drowning it. Then moving metal part move to the side internal bend magazine, pressing the lid behind it with your finger. The spring located in it is compressed, so you need to remove the cover with caution. Further cleaning is carried out according to the situation: moisture is wiped off with a rag, sand and debris that gets in - with a brush. The spring also needs to be lubricated periodically. The store is assembled in the reverse order of disassembly.
Disassembly and assembly of the AK-47 assault rifle and Saiga series carbines
Based on the Kalashnikov AK-47 (AKM) assault rifle, a series of self-loading carbines “Saiga” was developed: “Saiga”,
Hunting carbine "Saiga-308-1"
“Saiga-308”, “Saiga-308-1”, “Saiga-308-2”, “Saiga-5.6” and “Saiga-5.6S”, which differ from the prototype in the absence of parts that provide automatic fire mode, a smaller-capacity magazine, the configuration of some parts, the butt and the material for its manufacture. So, for example, the trigger does not have a hook for the automatic sear, and the bolt frame does not have a protrusion that interacts with the self-timer, “Saiga-5,6” has a folding plastic stock, and “Saiga-308-1” has a quick-release stock. Some rifles use optical sights.
Also, on the basis of the AKM assault rifle, the OTs-25 “Jager” carbine was developed, in which, compared to the prototype, the butt was lengthened, the trigger was shifted to the butt, and an optical sight was introduced.
