Why did Tupac Shakur die? Tupac's killer named
Tupac is a legendary figure in the rap community. He became the first rapper to have a monument erected; he is called the first person in the world to release a music album while in prison.
Although the Ural bard Alexander Novikov could argue with the latter, Tupac’s “prison” album definitely turned out cooler. Released under the title “Me Against the World,” the album subsequently achieved multi-platinum status. And Shakur entered the Guinness Book of Records as the most successful hip-hop artist, having sold a total of more than 75 million of his records.
Shakur Tupac was born in 1971 under the name Lezain Parish Crooks. They called him Tupac later, and not because of his stupidity. This name was given to him by his godfather in honor of the Peruvian revolutionary Tupac Amaru, and translated it means “sparkling snake.” The boy got the surname Shakur from his stepfather; it translates as “grateful to God.” And the guy inherited a rebellious spirit from his mother Afeni. His mom was a member of the semi-extremist organization "Black Panthers" and visited several women's prisons. In general, Tupac had other relatives: his stepfather Mutulu Shakur was sentenced to 60 years in prison for attempting to rob an armored car, during which two police officers were killed; Aunt Assate Shakur was convicted of killing a police officer in New Jersey, but escaped from prison and fled to Cuba; godfather Elmer Pratt was convicted of murdering a schoolteacher during a robbery in Santa Monica. In addition to criminal inclinations, the Shakur family was distinguished by restlessness - by the time Tupac went to school, they had changed 18 places of residence.
In 1991, Tupac released his first solo album, “2pacalypse Now,” which literally burst into various charts and went gold. The lyrics of the new musical “star” were mainly devoted to the struggle of black youth against racial discrimination and apparently were so heartfelt that they sometimes inspired these very youth to commit “criminal exploits.” When black teenager Ronald Ray Howard shot and killed a Texas police officer, the young man's lawyer said that his client was prompted to shoot by the music from the album 2pacalypse Now, which he was listening to at the time of the crime.
Rebellious genes and rebellious music created such an explosive cocktail in the blood of Shakur Tupac himself that he kept running into trouble with the police. Moreover, at first he not only got away with it, but also brought dividends. In 1991, he sued Oakland police for $10 million for beating him up. The court sided with the young black guy, but did not bankrupt the police - it satisfied the claim only for the amount of 42 thousand dollars. The following year, the police tried to get even and arrested Tupac for participating in a street shootout, during which a six-year-old boy was killed by a stray bullet, but they could not prove anything to Shakur. By 1993, Tupac already had 12 arrests on his record. The rapper was practically uncontrollable. He once beat up a limousine driver when he forbade Tupac from smoking weed in the car.
In 1993, director Allen Hughes cast him in the film Menace to Society, for which Shakur thanked him with a punch to the jaw. Then the rapper boasted about this in one of the television programs, and the recording of the program served as material evidence in order to send Tupac to 15 days for “hooligan.” That same year, he shot two police officers who were allegedly harassing a black driver, wounding one in the leg and the other in the buttock. The rapper's defense managed to prove that the injured cops were drunk and Shakur was acquitted.
And yet, the untied Tupac could not avoid serious punishment. In the same 1993, he raped his friend, 19-year-old Ayanna Jackson. He was left free until the trial, and perhaps in vain. Because on November 30, 1994, two intruders in military uniform ambushed Shakur at the entrance to Quad Studios in New York, pumped five bullets into him and robbed him. Tupac blamed his fellow rapper rivals for this crime: Sean "Diddy" Combs, Andre Harrell, Christopher Wallace and Randy Walker. The day after the assassination attempt, the surviving Shakur was sent to prison by the court out of harm's way for raping Jackson for a term of 4.5 years. Meanwhile, shots fired at him sparked a war between rappers from the East and West Coasts of the United States.
While the rappers were at war, Tupac created his famous album “Me Against the World” in prison, which went platinum after 7 months. After this, the young talent was taken under his wing by Suge Knight, the head of a major record company and also one of the leaders of the Mob Piru Bloods mafia group. Knight posted $1.4 million bail for Tupac and secured his release. For this, the rapper had to write three albums for him. And to begin with, he recorded the first double album in the history of hip-hop, “All Eyez on Me.” After his release, Tupac's business went uphill at a breakneck pace. He also became a film actor and starred in two films with Hollywood stars Mickey Rourke and Tim Roth. Started filming the third with James Belushi. But then there was a second attempt on his life.
On September 7, 1996, in Las Vegas, unknown persons shot up his car, 4 bullets hit Tupac. On September 13, the rapper died without regaining consciousness. His ashes were scattered over the Pacific Ocean. But the killers were never found.
And Tupac suddenly resurrected unexpectedly in early June 2012. Like a hologram at the Coachella music festival in California. The audience was initially shocked by the appearance of the legendary rapper, but after the deceased greeted his fans, they greeted the action with delight. Tupac Shakur returned only briefly. To perform a couple of songs. And disappear into the darkness. And his short performance cost the organizers almost half a million dollars, which they more than paid back.
The policeman revealed the bloody mystery of the Tupac murder: the killer was hired by P. DiddyTrue, the famous rapper has been under suspicion since the late 90sThere have always been, are and will be conflicting things in the world. In the USA in the 90s, the main field for showdowns was... Music. The rival rappers of the “East” and “West” did not give each other peace, and as a result, one of the most notorious murders of the 20th century was committed: the world lost Tupac Shakur. And yesterday, one former policeman plucked up courage and told who was to blame for the death of the famous performer. MK, February 4, 2016 “Sean Combs, better known as P. Diddy, orchestrated the Tupac murders. Shakur was “ordered” by a gangster group, and they were entitled to one million dollars for carrying out the crime,” said former Los Angeles Police Department officer Greg Kading. On the one hand, this is a sensation. In this case, which, like everything that happens in Las Vegas, remains only in Vegas, there are extremely few details. True, if it was found, it was buried somewhere far away in the archives and covered with a thick layer of folders, documents, testimonies or bribes - emphasize what is necessary. Therefore, any testimony, especially such frank ones, should be perceived as nothing other than a sensation. On the other hand, there is no sensation. Without evidence, without the words of eyewitnesses or those who knew the situation, everything was crystal clear to everyone: it was P. Diddy who “ordered” Tupac. And they started talking about this almost immediately after Shakur’s murder, that is, in the late 90s (the incident occurred on September 7, 1996). Of course, Sean himself denied this, calling the accusations lies and implausible, ridiculous materials. Tupac and Combs have always been, to put it mildly, not on the best terms. And at first - indirectly. The struggle between the two coasts - East and West - was reflected in the confrontation between Shakur and Christopher Wallace, better known as The Notorious B.I.G, or "Biggie". By the way, he was good friends with P Diddy. And Tupac, in turn, “hanged out” with Shug Nate. Two unsolved murders were the apotheosis of this showdown. Moreover, two leaders of their groups were killed, and their best friends “ordered”. The first occurred after a boxing fight between Mike Tyson and Bruce Seldon. On the way to the club, Tupac and Nate's car was shot at by unknown assailants, who fled the scene of the crime. The first one soon died without regaining consciousness. And six months later, “Biggie” was shot, too, in a similar manner. In the first case, no one doubted that this was the work of the “West”, and in the second - of the “East”. The first people after Tupac and Biggie were Nate and P. Diddy. Then there were unfinished trials, mutual accusations and a bunch of everything that only helped the cases become covered with a layer of dust. Everyone knew who was involved in what, there were simply no people who were ready to say it directly. They, in principle, appeared in periods: for example, in 2014, another former police officer told this story, but no one really heard him. Maybe because there was no sensation at all. Will it happen now? Isaac Oppenheim |
Photo of murdered rapper Tupac's penis put up for saleThe ex-girlfriend of hip-hop artist Tupac Shakur decided to put up for sale a photo of his genitals. TMZ reported this on Wednesday, December 6, 2017. The woman offered the photo to the Gotta Have Rock And Roll auction house and hopes that it will go under the hammer for $7.5 thousand. If unsuccessful, she is willing to sell the image to the highest bidder. The photo was taken at a party in Marin County, California, in 1990. It is noted that Tupac loved to undress in public and scare others with his penis. His girlfriend began to threaten that she would take a photo of the rapper if he did not put on pants, and after refusing, she took a photo. |
Immediately after his death, versions of the rapper’s death began to appear in the press. Music industry observers suggested, subject to all conditions of anonymity, to contact the police or the press for anyone who saw the conflict at the Grand Hotel; according to some reports, Tupac knew this man, even called his name, although no confirmation of this was found. But the police are pessimistic about the effectiveness of this idea. According to security, the man left the hotel too quickly after the Death Row motorcade. Police believe he may have followed the future victim and was directly involved in the crime. Although this possibility is unlikely, it cannot be completely ruled out.
The second version was put forward immediately after the shots were fired. All shots were aimed at the passenger seat, i.e., at Tupac, as a warning to Knight himself. It's no secret that Knight is associated with the Bloods gang. A week after the shootings, a Los Angeles officer reported that three members of the Crips, a gang opposed to the Bloods, had been found murdered in the Los Angeles suburb of Compton. But Compton police reject the theory that the three were involved in the Crips gang. But the war between criminal groups does not subside.
That fateful weekend saw six shootings between members of various gangs. "Gangs are a serious problem in Las Vegas," said one Las Vegas police official. "They seem unorganized, but they are strong and have a lot of influence." Knight's biography supports the theory of revenge from the Creeps. He was arrested by the police several times: in 1992, he was convicted of armed assault; he was convicted of transporting weapons across the border; in 1995, Knight served 30 days in jail for drug possession. On September 25, 1996, the New York Post reported that the FBI was investigating whether Knight's Death Row was involved in organized crime.
The third theory is also very likely, although it is surrounded by rumors that clearly have nothing to do with the case. It lies in the fact that the murder of Tupac is the result of enmity between the East and West coasts, two rap movements. Disagreements constantly arose between them, and not only creative ones. But it should be noted that Biggie and Puffy expressed their deepest condolences to the friends and relatives of the deceased and in every possible way denied their involvement in the murder. Marion Knight and the escort claim that they saw no faces, only a moving Cadillac, and therefore cannot say whether Tupac’s rivals were among the attackers. So no one can confirm or deny the involvement of “Bad Boy entertainment” in this case. One way or another, on March 9, 1997, Notorious B.I.G. himself was killed, and some time later a member of the New Orleans group U.N.L.V. was killed. Elbert Thomas. And at the end of 1998, a conflict arose between LL Cool J and Canibus, who were actually representatives of opposite coasts, but that’s a completely different story.
Of course, as a result of all these frictions, we get new creations that are part of the classics of world hip-hop. But it’s one thing when a person, having heard a song on the radio containing curse words addressed to himself, takes out a notepad and writes a response, and another thing when he takes out a gun and thinks that he can resolve the conflict with its help...
It is debatable how much of a contribution American rapper Tupac Shakur made to world culture. Although the authoritative Rolling Stone magazine ranked him 86th on the list of the greatest performers of all time. However, the biography of this musician was more suitable for a repeat offender, and the death of Tupac Shakur became like a scene from a gangster film.
In the United States alone, Tupac Shakur recorded 50 albums and sold more than 75 million copies worldwide. In his songs, he described the harsh life of American ghettos, was a defender of the rights and freedom of blacks, and spoke out against drug addiction, alcoholism and crime. But in the guy’s own life there was room for many vices.
We can say that the future rapper absorbed hatred of laws with his mother’s milk. Although he was born in 1971, when the influence of the African-American terrorist group "" was already weakened in the United States by the arrests and executions of leaders and ordinary participants. His mother Afeni Shakur was a member of this organization, which professed “black
racism".
She periodically went to jail, and the family constantly wandered around America, hiding from the police. Tupac Shakur was born in a prison hospital while his mother was serving another
term. At birth the boy was named Pesain Parish Crooks. He received the name Tupac Amaru from his godfather, the leader of the Black Fathers, Elmer Pratt, in honor of the Inca Indian leader executed by the Spaniards. The surname Shakur comes from his stepfather, who later went to prison for 60 years for robbing an armored car and killing two police officers.
The son of terrorists had no time to study - the family constantly moved from place to place. At the Baltimore School of the Arts, where he entered at the age of 14, Tupac Shakur studied for only two years. Interestingly, at that time he was passionate about communism - associated with the Communist Youth League - and was dating the daughter of the leader of the local branch of the US Communist Party. And then 17-year-old Tupac Shakur simply dropped out of school and ran away from home in Marin City. History is silent about what he did for the next couple of years. But in 1990, he already successfully performed as a member of the Digital Underground group as a singer and dancer, and a year later his first solo album, Tupacalypse Today, was released.
Tupac Shakur legend
Two years later, Tupac Shakur was already in Los Angeles, but conquering this city was not so easy. He was homeless for almost two years, practically living on the street, but was able to release
second album. As in the first one, most of Tupac Shakur’s songs were about the extremely difficult life in the black ghetto, poverty, lawlessness, and lawlessness on the part of white-skinned people.
Tupac Shakur absorbed the ideology of the Black Panthers from childhood and did not hide it. This album literally blew up African-American youth, provoking them to commit crimes.
For example, in the trial of the shooting of a police officer in Texas, the lawyer of the black teenager Ronald Ray Howard stated that his client was pushed to kill the law enforcement officer by the Tupac Shakur song, which Howard was listening to at that moment. It must be said that Tupac Shakur himself was a well-known person in the world as the author and performer of gangsta rap.
Tupac Shakur regularly provoked the police, causing public scandals with fights, and when arrested he ran into cuffs from the police. This added to his popularity and
brought in good income. In 1991, Tupac Shakur was awarded $42,000 in compensation by the Oakland police for beating him during his arrest. He asked for 10
millions, but the court decided to curb his appetite.
By the way, Tupac Shakur was the sole breadwinner of a large family - mother, sister, aunt, her children and relatives, together there were up to 20 souls. Apparently, Tupac Shakur is not
He also avoided obvious crime, but the police could not prove anything each time. In 1992, he was arrested for his participation in a street shootout in which a small boy was killed by a random bullet. And again he came out unscathed. In 1993, he already had 12 arrests.
A drunken Tupac Shakur could beat up a taxi driver who did not allow smoking marijuana in the car. That same year, he beat up director Allen Hughes, who kicked him out of his film Public Menace and bragged about it on a TV show. For this live brawl, he was only arrested for 15 days. Impunity was intoxicating like a drug - Tupac Shakur became uncontrollable. His popularity saved him from certain prison for shooting two police officers who, he believed, were mocking a black driver.
True, everyone survived, and in court the defense was able to prove that the shot cops were drunk. Shakur was acquitted!
Shakur's popularity grew, and the number of albums multiplied. But he could not avoid prison. All in the same 1993, a case was brought against Shakur for the rape of his 19-year-old fan Ayanna Jackson, as well as for other crimes. True, the lawyers ensured that he remained free until the trial.
And on November 30, 1994, the first attempt was made on Shakur’s life - near the entrance to the studio, he was shot with five bullets and robbed, taking away jewelry worth 40 thousand dollars. Tupac Shakur later blamed rival rappers for this.
The musician survived through the efforts of doctors and was seriously afraid that he would be killed. After being discharged from the hospital, he secretly lived in the house of actress Jasmine Guy. He appeared in court in a wheelchair and was acquitted of three counts of homosexuality and illegal possession of weapons. But it was not possible to avoid accusations of sexual harassment - I had to go to jail. True, the deadline was vague - from 1.5 to 4.5 years.
At first, prison seemed like a salvation for Shakur from all his obsessions, alcohol and drugs. His mind became clear and bright. Even before his imprisonment, he recorded tracks for the new album “Me Against the World” and completed work on it while in prison. This album went platinum a few months later.
In fact, in prison, Tupac Shakur renounced his past, admitting that he “lived the life of a thug.” In April 1995, he married Keisha Morris, a girl from another world, a world of normal people, who did not go to bed with him the first time they met. They dreamed of a quiet family life after Shakur’s release and came up with names for their future children.
But soon prison already seemed like hell to him. “I have never been humiliated and disgraced anywhere as much as in this prison,” Tupac Shakur said to friends who visited him. He tried through lawyers to get released on bail of $3 million, but it was all in vain. In addition, he was almost bankrupt - huge legal costs were hanging on him for claims throughout America.
Tupac Shakur - death
Rescue unexpectedly came from the head of a large recording company, Suge Knight, who is also the leader of a mafia group. He posted $1.4 million bail for Shakur and secured his release. From that day forward, Shakur's work belonged to Knight. Tupac Shakur worked like a man possessed, for days on end, invigorating himself with alcohol and drugs. He wanted to become a superstar in gangsta rap, which he completely renounced while in prison. His film career also continued - Tupac Shakur starred in two films with Hollywood stars Mickey Rourke and Tim Roth.
His life was cut short literally on takeoff. 25-year-old Tupac Shakur seemed to have a presentiment of his death, and in August 1996 he constantly talked about it. On September 7, after a boxing match with his friend Mike Tyson, Tupac Shakur and Knight went to a nightclub. The bodyguards followed in another car. They were stopped by police at about 11 p.m.
- the music in the cabin is too loud and there are no license plates on the car. A few minutes later they continued on their way.
At approximately 23:15, at one of the intersections to the right of Knight and Shakur’s car, a four-door white Cadillac stopped, the windows rolled down synchronously and machine gun fire was heard. Only Shakur got the bullets - he was mortally wounded. He was taken to the hospital while still alive, and there the doctors put Shakur into an artificial coma, but this did not help. September 13, 1996 became a day of mourning for the multi-million army of Tupac Shakur fans. No autopsy was performed. The body of the famous rapper was cremated, and some of his ashes, mixed with marijuana, were smoked by his friends.
The murder of Tupac Shakur remains unsolved to this day. Today he remains a cult rapper, to whom monuments have been erected not only in the USA, but also for some reason in Germany. A letter from Shakur, written in prison, was recently put up for sale with an initial price tag of $225,000.
Tupac Amaru (“shining serpent”) was the name of the last great leader of the Incas. He was beheaded for resisting the Spanish occupation.
The more time passes since the death of the rapper, who, perhaps, can be called the greatest in hip-hop, the more his image becomes overgrown with facts, gossip, fiction and eyewitness accounts. It becomes more and more difficult to understand this every year, but today we present to your attention some of them, which, however, claim to be objective.
He went to prison before he was born Tupac's mother, Afeni Shakur, was an active member of the Black Panther association, actively fighting for the rights of blacks. In May 1971, she was released from investigation for activities against the US government, and in mid-June Parish Lesane Crooks was born. That was Tupac’s name for about a year, until his mother changed this name to one that is now known to the whole world.
His name is a combination of one of the Indian and Arabic languages
Tupac Amaru (“shining serpent”) was the name of the last great leader of the Incas. For his resistance to the Spanish occupation he was beheaded. "Shakur" means grateful in Arabic.
In his youth he was a big “walker” in the women’s department“I was fucking white girls,” - so, already in adulthood, he talked about his main activity in college. Tupac once promised to reciprocate his fellow student, a gay man named Eskiah, if he helped him seduce the touchy Kelly. Eskiah did his job, but when he came to get what he had promised, he heard: “Are you fucking crazy?” This is California Love
Before becoming a rapper, Tupac studied ballet
After moving to Baltimore, Shakur entered the local art school, where he studied acting and ballet. Until he started liking rap more. By the way, Tupac's first hip-hop nickname was MC New York.
He was very, very poor
Actress Jada Pinkett Smith, now Will Smith's wife, was Tupac's classmate and later recalled: “When I met him, he had exactly two pairs of pants and two sweaters. He slept on a mattress without a sheet."
Tupac didn't like pirates. When he came to New York and saw a "pirated" copy Digital Underground "This Is an E.P. Release", in which he took part, he simply became furious. “You’re robbing me!” - he shouted to the seller.
He had a strange taste in music for a rapper
His favorite artists included singers Kate Bush, Sarah McLachlan and 70s star Don McLean. And he called the main theme to the musical “Les Miserables,” based on the book by Victor Hugo, his favorite song.
His first assault rifle was a Kalashnikov One day, after the release of 2Pacalypse Now, Shock G from Digital Underground came to visit Tupac and asked if he was afraid to keep the windows open while his gold certificates were hanging on the walls. “He went into the bathroom, pulled out an AK and said, 'If anyone gets in here...' and started shooting! He shot up the floor and the sofa. I almost killed the kids who were sitting next to me!”
He was a workaholic Tupac recorded 67 songs during the 11 months he worked on All Eyez on Me. And this is not counting about two hundred unrealized tracks. The same Shock G called Shakur “the hardest working person in hip-hop.”
Janet Jackson tried to get him to take an AIDS test
In the script of John Singleton's film "Poetic Justice", in which Tupac starred in 1993, a kiss was planned. Having heard about his lifestyle, Michael Jackson's sister and stage partner insisted that he take an HIV test. The rapper agreed, but only on the condition that Janet sleep with him. They kissed without testing.
Having received 5 bullets, he escaped from the hospital the next day
Two bandits stole Tupac's chain, worth $40,000. While resisting, he received 5 bullets, one in the head. However, worried for his safety, Shakur escaped from the hospital the next evening.
One of the bullets hit the rapper in the scrotum Not noticing all the wounds in the heat of the clash, Tupac only noticed a hole in his underpants several hours later. “Oh, dammit... Roll me a joint,” is how, according to eyewitnesses, he reacted to the discovery. “My doctor said that I will still have children. The bullet simply went through the skin.” But for a long time Tupac himself joked that he was now 1Pac.
He was prone to depression
“He couldn't stay sober. There was always dope and Hennessy nearby. This is all because he was not happy - his laughter was often deliberate,” says Shock G. “I often think about suicide,” the rapper himself once said. “But I can’t kill myself. I just want someone to kill me."
Suge Knight bought him out of prison
The head of Death Row Records posted a huge bail of $1,400,000 for Tupac while he was under investigation. But first he signed a contract for 3 albums, signed right behind bars, where he had been for 11 months. “I made a deal with the devil,” he later told his bodyguard Henry Fayson.
He did not shy away from completely gangster methods
Puff Daddy's assistant said that Tupac and Knight tortured him to find out the boss's home address. Shakur simply beat him, but Shug forced him to drink his own urine.
They were friends with Madonna. And perhaps not only...
Another of the rapper’s security guards, Frank Alexander, in his biography “Got Your Back,” writes that one day they were watching TV and Tupac, seeing Madonna and boyfriend-coach Carlos Leone, said: “You know, but in his place it should be me.” .
After his death, the same number of albums were released as during his lifetime.
At the moment, Shakur's official discography includes 12 albums. 6 of them came out after his death and there is no doubt that this is not the final number. If we count all kinds of collections, remix albums and “live” recordings, then the total number tends to thirty releases.
American rapper Tupac Shakur was killed in September 1996 in his manager's car by four shots from a passing car. However, over time, Tupac became new, as theories that the musician is alive continue to appear to this day.
The other day, the son of Suge Knight, the same manager, Marion, announced on his Instagram page that Tupac is alive.
"I have audio and video evidence of how Fidel Castro approved Tupac to live in Cuba,
— The Sun quotes the bodyguard as saying. “And he approved of the body swap I was involved in.” There were conditions for this help. There was a time limit. There were conditions for behavior. He shouldn’t have admitted that he was in Cuba.”
Nice, however, confirmed that Tupac was indeed wounded that September night, but his life was saved, after which the above-described operation was conceived.
The reaction of users online was mixed. Most people expressed confidence that Mairon and Nice are trying to promote themselves on the death of the rapper. However, there are people who believed their statements.
This summer, it was reported that former gangster Duane Keith Davis named Tupac's killer in an interview for the Netflix documentary Cold Case. In his opinion, the musician was killed by Davis’s nephew, Orlando Anderson.
This was not a big revelation, since back in 2002 the Los Angeles Times put forward a similar version and published a large article with indirect evidence against Anderson, who was beaten by Shakur’s entourage on the day of his death. Wanting revenge, he called a gang meeting, at which it was decided to kill Tupac and make some money. According to the author of the article, East Coast rapper The Notorious B.I.G. was in Los Angeles that day and promised to pay Anderson $1 million for the murder of the West Coast leader. A week after Shakur's death, Anderson's group received $50,000 - the first part of the promised million. The article does not report how further payments were made. By the way, The Notorious B.I.G. was killed in 1997 in similar circumstances.
Born in 1971, Tupac Shakur very quickly came to world fame and already at the age of 20 made the entire musical community talk about himself. In 1991, his first solo album, 2Pacalypse Now, was released. During his short musical career, Tupac recorded a number of iconic compositions and had a huge influence on the development of hip-hop and many artists, including Lil Wayne, Drake and Kendrick Lamar.
In the last years of his life, Shakur was involved in the so-called Coastal War, which entailed feuds with other hip-hop artists and music producers, including East Coast leader The Notorious B.I.G. and Bad Boy Records.
On the night of September 7, 1996, the 25-year-old musician was in Las Vegas with Suge Knight for a boxing match involving. After the fight ended, Tupac got into Knight's car and left the arena.
Closer to midnight, a white Cadillac approached in a car, from which several shots were fired, four of which hit the musician.
Tupac was rushed to the hospital, where he was put into an induced coma. Despite desperate attempts, doctors were unable to save the rapper’s life, and on September 13, 1996 at 16:03 local time, Shakur’s death was pronounced.
