Weapons from the game assassins creed. How to get legendary weapons in Assassin's Creed Origins
The legendary series is significantly different from previous ones - primarily in that the developers moved the heroes to Great Britain during the Industrial Revolution, creating a real steampunk atmosphere. The game is released on October 23, 2015 on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms, and then on November 19, 2015 on Microsoft Windows (PC).
So, 1868, dirty and menacing London, the capital of the empire, the world industrial centre and at the same time a monstrous cesspool, full of all kinds of scum, gangs, scoundrels and madmen. Main character games, Jacob Fry, together with his sister Evie (whose character is also playable), fights for justice, leading a whole syndicate of professional assassins. The aesthetics of the game are amazing - this is a real steampunk, in which British street fights are combined with oriental lightness, heroes jump from bridges onto the roofs of moving trains, an elegant top hat is replaced by a secretive hood, and a huge metropolis of the mid-19th century thunders and smokes around. But that's not what we're talking about. We decided to compare the assassin's equipment from the game with real weapons killers of that time and analyze how Assassin's Creed Syndicate corresponds historical realities. Sure, it's a fantastic game, but it relies on real story, which means there is something to compare with.
So, before us is Jacob Fry, who arrived in London in 1868 with his sister Evie.
Note that in 1824 the first law was issued in Great Britain restricting the carrying of personal weapons, which was tightened several times and, as amended in 1862, completely prohibited the carrying and use of any (!) small arms or bladed weapons by private individuals. Interestingly, gun licensing was introduced literally in 1870, which made it easier to buy and carry – but at the time of the game, guns really couldn’t be carried openly. So here Jacob Fry’s secrecy is fully consistent with historical realities.
His equipment includes: - Assassin's bracer with a hidden blade; — shenbiao, Chinese edged weapon (in the bracer); — a blowgun that shoots darts (in the bracer); - kukri knife; - sword-cane; - revolver; - brass knuckles (in the bracer); - throwing knives.
Evie Frye has similar equipment, only the personal qualities and abilities of the assassins differ (for example, Evie can become almost invisible, masquerading as environment, and Jacob instantly recognizes anyone he meets as an enemy or a friend).
So, if you watched the gameplay video, let's move on to studying the assassins' weapons. Some of the gadgets that Jack and Evie Fry wield require detailed consideration.
Shengbiao
Type: steel arms Country of origin: China Shenbiao is a long, 3 to 5 meters, rope with a heavy dart at the end. The length of the dart is from 10 to 20 centimeters, and it weighs about 200 grams. Historically, the shenbiao was used exclusively as a weapon - a dart was thrown at the enemy, and then returned back with a jerk of the rope. In close combat, piercing blows were delivered with a dart.But history has made its own adjustments. Since about the 16th century, the use of shenbiao by assassins has been known not only as a weapon, but also as a means of transportation. The dart began to serve as a load and a hook - it was thrown onto high obstacles in order to then climb up the rope. The Shengbiao in the game is slightly different from the classic one. The shot shows that the dart is very short and is essentially a tip with feathers - this allows it to cling to various surfaces. In the game, shenbiao is mainly used to instantly hit roofs and other high points. You can also use it to pierce an opponent and pull him towards you if he is in a place inaccessible to a direct blow (for example, on the roof).
In general, Frye's use of shenbiao does not contradict historical realities. In light of the active emigration of the Chinese to Europe in the mid-19th century, such weapons could well have fallen into the hands of the British. And then it’s a matter of practice.
Revolver
Type: weapon Country of origin: USA In previous parts of Assassin's Creed there were no revolvers. Only industrial Revolution and the time of action (1868) made it possible to arm the assassin with more modern small arms.The specific model of the revolver is not named anywhere, but judging by the shape and reloading speed, it is a Remington Model 1858, a classic American “gun” of that time. At that time, precisely because of its speed and ease of use, the Remington was much more popular than the Colt and was widely used both in the USA and in other countries. In particular, it was in service and british army. Fry shoots from a revolver during the chase (by the way, control and racing on carriages is a new and very adrenaline-pumping element of the game): The six-shot revolver weighs 1.27 kg and is quite accurate at a distance of up to 70 meters. Its use by an assassin is quite justified.
Kukri
Type: steel arms Country of origin: Nepal Kukri (or khukri) is national weapon, used by Nepalese Gurkhas. It has a bend and one-sided sharpening along inside(which is why it is often confused with a machete, which has a completely different shape and origin). The type of kukri that Fry uses is called a bunspati - it is a simple combat or working knife with one curve, devoid of elaborate decorations, and is quite light and convenient. Here you can see how an assassin fights with the help of his kukri: Other varieties include katrimoras (ceremonial kukri), bhojpuri (working kukri with a very thick blade) and janavar katne (heavy combat kukri more than 40 cm in length). In 1868, Nepal was a British colony, kukris were actively supplied to Europe, and the presence of such a knife in an assassin’s possession was completely justified.Sword cane
Type: steel arms Country of origin: Germany Cane swords appeared in the middle of the 18th century and were widespread in Europe until late XIX century. Similar weapons existed in Asia (in particular, in Japan), but the origin of European and Asian blades is not connected, these are parallel inventions.Hidden blades were considered the weapons of gentlemen and were especially popular in Victorian era. It is interesting that such swords were also actively worn by ladies who studied fencing, since the open carrying of weapons by women was not encouraged by etiquette. Jacob Frye's cane sword classic shape, can also become something like a braid: Today, cane swords are banned as weapons in most countries of the world. concealed carry, but the assassin, of course, could not do without such a thing.
Assassin's Bracer: Blowgun and Hidden Blade
Type: weapon Country of origin: Sweden was called Brass until the middle of the 20th century Airguns. Fry's pistol is very compact, it is built into his bracers and has no direct analogues in real world. The technology itself dates back to the second half of the 16th century - it developed more or less in parallel with traditional gunpowder weapons.The only catch is that in the 19th century there were no compact blowguns. Blowguns were exclusive and rather cumbersome weapons, the main advantage of which was noiselessness. The first commercial blowgun (about the size of a small gun) was produced by W.F. Markham Co only in 1888. Before that, was the Austrian Windb rifle a more or less popular model? chse model 1770. Of course, there was no talk of any pistols built into the bracers. However, such a device could have been made to special order even at that time. Moreover, according to the plot of the series of games, assassins began using such pistols back in the 13th century. But honestly, this is still a game, not a documentary about the history of weapons! A blow gun in your sleeve is cool!
Every type of weapon in Assassin's Creed Rogue has its own characteristics. Weapons can be purchased from a merchant or obtained for free by completing various in-game tasks.
Hidden Blades

It can use darts, firecrackers and grenades as projectiles.
Shengbiao
Shengbiao is a rope with a deadly stiletto at the end, allowing you to snatch one enemy from a group into an area hand-to-hand combat. In the crafts section you can increase their wearable number. Shengbiao is very effective in any playstyle and is still fun to hang enemies from trees.

Assassin's Creed Origins debuted a full-fledged RPG gear model. Now Bayek's weapons and equipment have their own levels and characteristics, equipment can be disassembled and improved.
This is not yet The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt, but in terms of its item system, the game is much closer to the third Witcher than to any of the games in the Assassin’s Creed series. In this article we talk about everything you need to know about weapons and equipment in Assassin’s Creed Origins.
Item quality
Every item in the world of Assassin's Creed Origins, from weapons and shields to trinkets and hunting trophies have one of three quality levels:- Regular quality: an item with a blue backing, these are the things you will find most often. An item of normal quality has one additional characteristic - for example, a bow can have increased damage from a sneak strike.
- Rare quality: item with a purple backing. This is already something interesting. At equal levels rare items noticeably better than usual, such equipment has two additional characteristics: This could be, say, adrenaline on a kill plus bleeding on a hit.
- Legendary quality: item with gold backing. The rarest and most valuable things. Legendary items have two characteristics like rare ones, plus they have a bonus feature - for example, sleep on hit.
note
It is better not to sell unnecessary equipment and weapons to a merchant, but to dismantle them right on the spot, obtaining valuable resources. There is no need to rush into dismantling items of legendary quality - perhaps it would be better to improve them. We'll talk about improving items later.
Feel free to sell useless trinkets.
What can Bayek wear?
The equipment panel of the protagonist of Assassin's Creed Origins is divided into 14 cells: Bayek has two cells for ranged and melee weapons, cells for a shield, tools, transport, suit, as well as six cells with fixed equipment.note
In Assassin's Creed Origins, you can't find a new breastplate or quiver: only the shield changes from the armor, the rest of the equipment is improved. Bayek's costume serves a purely decorative function - you can even walk around in a towel. Costumes are sold from weavers, sometimes they are given out for completing quests.
Here is a list of items that affect Bayek's characteristics:
- Shield: Increases the number of health points. The shield can be changed.
- Hidden blade: The name speaks for itself. The blade cannot be changed, it is only upgraded.
- Quiver: Allows you to carry more arrows. The quiver cannot be changed, it is only upgraded.
- Stabilization glove: Increases ranged damage. The glove cannot be changed, it is only upgraded.
- Bracer: Increases melee damage. The bracer cannot be changed, it is only upgraded.
- Bib: Increases health. The breastplate cannot be changed, it is only upgraded.
- Tool bag: Allows you to carry more tools. The tool bag cannot be changed, it is only pumped.
note
Equipment and weapons in Assassin's Creed Origins do not break; nothing needs to be repaired.
Cursed Equipment
Equipment can have more than just positive effects. From time to time you will find a cursed weapon or shield: these items (usually legendary) are more effective than analogues of the same level, but significantly reduce Bayek's health.If several bars of the health scale turn red, it means the character is wearing equipment with a curse. The curse on an item cannot be removed; you will have to choose what is more important: improved characteristics or full health character.
Upgrading equipment
To improve six non-removable items, you don't have to go to a blacksmith. It is enough to extract the required amount of resources and Bayek will do everything on the spot. The quiver and tool bag each have 5 upgrade levels, while other items have 10 upgrade levels.There are eight resource types in Assassin's Creed Origins: Cedar Wood, Bronze, Soft Leather, Durable leather, Hide, Iron, Graphite, Quartz. The first six resources can be found almost anywhere; you either buy Graphite and Quartz in the Nomad’s Shop or find them in tombs.
The search for resources is greatly facilitated by the eagle Senu; after leveling up the “Purchase of Materials” skill, you will be able to purchase common and rare resources from weavers and blacksmiths.
Do I need to buy equipment or weapons from merchants?
You definitely don't need ordinary quality items, which are most often found at merchants. If you see a rare and seemingly good item, think again, very soon you will outgrow its level and either dismantle the item for resources or decide to upgrade it for drachmas. It’s better to save drachmas for upgrading legendary items.Upgrading bows, shields and melee weapons
If you are lucky enough to find a legendary or at least rare equipment, but you have outgrown it in level - do not rush to disassemble your favorite thing for resources or hand it over to a merchant. It's better to go to a blacksmith and improve the item.Upgrading increases the level of an item to Bayek's level; the same item can be upgraded an unlimited number of times. Unfortunately, there is a significant disadvantage: improving good items is very expensive.
The cost of an upgrade depends on the current level of the item (the greater the difference between Bayek’s level and the item’s level, the more expensive the upgrade) and its quality. Upgrading ordinary items costs almost nothing (it makes about the same amount of sense); upgrading a legendary weapon or shield will cost you several thousand drachmas.
Worth it: There's almost nothing to spend money on in Assassin's Creed Origins anyway.
note
There is no point in upgrading ordinary items; rare ones only if you really, really like them. Save your drachmae for legendaries.
What types of melee weapons are there?
In close combat, Bayek can engage an enemy with one of seven types of weapons. Choose your weapons so that you have something for quick single-target damage and area-of-effect attacks.- Sword: conventional weapons close combat, more or less suitable for any situation. The sword has a chance to cause critical damage. Used in conjunction with a shield.
- Khopesh: long egyptian sword, they strike a little slower than with a regular sword. Has some chance of causing bleeding. Used in conjunction with a shield.
- Dual Swords: With this weapon, Bayek can unleash a whirlwind of attacks. Two disadvantages: no shield and very short strike range. Increases adrenaline production.
- Mace: A very slow weapon that hits very hard. The main thing is to swing well. When killed with this weapon, Bayek receives additional adrenaline.
- Axe: A slightly faster and less powerful version of the mace. Axes also deal a lot of damage, but, like maces, they can only be used effectively against large opponents. With an axe, Bayek gains adrenaline with every wound he inflicts.
- A spear: Great for keeping multiple enemies at bay. The spear has a very large area hit, on a critical hit it deals slightly more damage.
- Scepter: Like the spear, the scepter deals an area of effect and allows you to attack a group of enemies. Bayek wields a scepter a little faster than a spear, and when attacking, he gains a combo multiplier.
What types of bows are there?
There are four types of bows in Assassin's Creed Origins, each of them is tailored to perform its own task. It makes sense to choose bows to suit your playing style; most likely you will have a favorite bow for long-range shooting and another one for close-range work.Assassin's Creed: Origins has new system weapons and equipment. The first time you realize this is when the bounty hunters come for you, and not at all for a nice conversation. This guide contains information about best weapon in the game, which weapon is best for you, what to do with old equipment, what and when to improve, pros and cons various types weapons and much more.
Loot rarity
In Assassin's Creed: Origins, weapons and shields can be obtained from defeated enemies, treasure chests, completing quests or purchasing them from merchants. Weapons are divided into three tiers: blue, purple and gold. The more unusual the weapon or shield, the more they have attributes and the more valuable materials you can get from them.
Weapon and shield ranges:
- Blue weapons and shields are common and have only one attribute. They can be disassembled into common materials.
- Purple weapons and shields are rare and have two attributes. They are used for rare materials.
- Gold Shields and weapons are legendary and have two to three attributes. Do not disassemble or sell them!
Feel free to sell or dismantle blue and purple items, but never do this with legendary shields and weapons. Gold equipment can only be sold and disassembled at the end of the game.
The best source of legendary weapons and shields in Assassin's Creed: Origins are papyrus puzzles, followed by side quests, and then treasure chests in tombs, forts and bandit camps.
Quality and attributes. How do you know which weapon is better?
With so much loot, it's difficult to immediately say which weapon is best to use. Each weapon in the game is labeled by its DPS (damage per second), but since each weapon type is used differently, quality level is a more useful indicator.
If you use all types of melee weapons, then choose the one with the highest quality score. With ranged weapons, things are a little more complicated. It is best to carry two bows with you: one for stealth, and the second for open battles.
If you have two weapons of the same quality, look at their rarity. As stated above, the rarer a weapon is, the more attributes it has, and these can vary greatly. Our favorite weapon attributes are Critical Damage, Adrenaline Rate, Bleed on Hit, and Poison on Hit.
Upgrade weapons and shields
If you are using legendary weapon, but its quality level is significantly lower than that of any blue, then consider upgrading it. Assassin's Creed: Origins makes it very easy to upgrade weapons and shields. You just need to visit a blacksmith in any city and choose the upgrade you like from the list. For this you will not need any crafting materials - only gold.
The higher the level you want to upgrade your equipment to, the more it will cost. On high levels This can be very expensive, so we recommend keeping a supply of gold for this case. Upgrade your weapons when you really need them, not every few levels.
There is one good strategy- Upgrade your favorite legendary weapon before fighting the bounty hunter, as these are the most difficult fights in the game, even if your character has reached the required level.
Upgrade other equipment
Remember at the beginning of the guide we advised you to sort out all the unnecessary blue and purple things? The fact is that the materials you get from them will be needed to improve other equipment. Your chest armor, bracers, quiver, hidden blade and tool set can be upgraded through several tiers, all the way up to Legendary.
If you are playing the game in stealth mode, the most important thing is to improve the hidden blade. On legendary level Hidden Blade deals more damage in stealth against enemies you can't kill in one hit. You will also be able to kill some enemies who have a higher level than you. Next you should improve the quiver. Since the bow is recommended for all players, this upgrade will be very useful. You will be able to carry more arrows and therefore kill more enemies.
Once you upgrade your Quiver and Hidden Blade, choose upgrades based on your playstyle. Upgrading your chest piece will increase your health level, while upgrading your bracers will increase your weapon damage. Upgrading tools will increase inventory capacity.
How to get materials for crafting? Where can I get carbon crystal and quartz for upgrades?
You will need a lot of common, rare and legendary crafting materials to upgrade all your equipment. We strongly advise you to dismantle all unnecessary blue and purple weapons until you have fully upgraded all your equipment. When all the upgrades are completed, start selling unnecessary items for gold.
After this, you will have two ways to obtain crafting materials. You can spend two ability points to make merchants start selling necessary materials. The second method is to collect materials in open world. If you preferred the second option, then your faithful friend Senu will help you. Simply enter eagle mode and scan the area for symbols that represent crafting materials. You can find leather on animals, and wood and metals are transported by convoys.
Better materials are found in high-level locations. Also remember that legendary crafting materials (carbon crystal and quartz) cannot be obtained from animals and guards. They can be found in treasure chests in tombs, forts, or bandit camps. Visit these places and use the Seine to find them. Also, these items are sold by the nomad, but you will need a lot of gold.
Melee Weapons
There are several types of melee weapons in Assassin's Creed: Origins. Each of them has its own combo and adrenaline attack. Try them all and see which ones you like best. If you are not a stealth fanatic, be sure to learn a skill that allows you You will be able to use two melee weapons. heavy weapons, to break through powerful defenses, and a light one - for fights with several enemies.
- Regular and sickle swords. Have average speed And average damage. Useful in almost all situations;
- Scepters. A decent weapon with medium range and fast attacks. The damage is not as great as swords. Does not penetrate shields;
- Double Blades. Very fast, but have a short range. With their help you will be good at dodging;
- Heavy Maces and Swords. Both are slow but extremely powerful. Excellent for battles with well-protected enemies. Almost useless against more mobile targets;
- Spears. They have the longest range and are quite fast, but do little damage. Suitable for controlling groups of enemies while you move to a more advantageous position, but hardly suitable as a main weapon.
Ranged Weapons
If you like using bows, be sure to spend the ability points to unlock the second slot. They are four types and differ in purpose. It's best to have one bow for stealth game, and the second is for open battles. Remember that each type of bow has its own supply of arrows. Therefore, if you run out of arrows during a battle, simply open your inventory and equip another type of bow. But don't forget to replenish your ammo supply when the battle is over.
- Predatory bows. This option is suitable for pure stealth. Such bows have a small supply of arrows, but cause huge damage. Have more complex system aiming. If you like this type of bow, upgrade your quiver and learn the latest abilities of the Hunter branch;
- Hunting bows. A compromise option. They have sufficient attack speed, which allows them to be used in open battles, but they cause the greatest damage when the bowstring is fully drawn, which is more suitable for stealth;
- Combat bows. They fire several projectiles at once. Causes great damage at close range;
- Quick Bows. Little damage, but high speed attacks. Ideal for open combat.
Shields
With shields everything is very simple. Wear the best one you have. Also pay attention to bonus attributes. Remember to use the block button and remember that shields are useless against heavy attacks.
