Object 140 elevation angles. Who's better?
Object 140 is a machine that represents Soviet technology. He has an average rank and is at game level 10. The tank represents a new generation of top military equipment, however, it has already gained sufficient popularity among many players. It belongs to equipment that does not require pumping, as it is initially equipped with the best modules.
The Object 140 is a fairly dynamic vehicle with excellent weapons. However, his lack of armor makes him vulnerable and significantly reduces his combat power. Its firepower lies in a 100mm cannon that can deal 320 damage. In this situation, the tank has a firing rate of up to nine rounds per minute.
- Rammer – significantly increases the rate of fire.
- Vertical aiming stabilizer – Significantly reduces gun spread due to its fixation and stabilization.
- Improved ventilation - significantly improves the performance of crew members.
- It will be enough to equip the car with a standard set of equipment - a first aid kit, a fire extinguisher and a repair kit.
Crew Object 140 perks
The crew is the “heart” of the tank, and with a skilled crew it becomes practically invulnerable.
- Commander: Light bulb plus Combat Brotherhood, plus Repair, plus Camouflage, plus radio interception.
- Driver-mechanic: Repair plus BB, plus Smooth ride, plus Camouflage, plus Off-Road King.
- Gunner: Repair plus BB, plus Smooth turret rotation, plus Camouflage, plus Sniper.
- Loader: Repair plus AP, plus Non-contact ammo rack, plus Camouflage, plus Intuition.
Looking at the parameters of this tank, first of all, its weak armor, reaching no more than 100 mm, becomes noticeable. This indicator is quite weak for equipment of this level. Therefore, it will be enough for the enemy to simply break through the body of the vehicle. However, taking into account the ideal slope of the armor in the front protection, the preferred place for shelling is the armor plate of the hull, as well as the base of the turret. It is worth paying attention to the fact that damage can be caused through tower hatches. Therefore, it will be quite easy to damage this tank, especially if you can knock out its track and deprive it of the ability to move.
In the WoT game, a lot depends on how well you choose the tank for yourself and how well you develop a strategy for it. The fact is that in this game there are no imps, that is, cars that in any case would be better than the others - each has its own pros and cons. You need to be able to use the former, and the latter you need to be able to compensate, hide and turn to your advantage. So, even if you choose the most powerful and dangerous tank of the highest level, you can still lose to even light tanks if you go into battle without any specific strategy and tactics. In this case, we will talk about a tank called “140 object” - this is a rather interesting piece of military equipment that is worth studying in more detail before going into battle with it.
Base for object
You can purchase some tanks in a ready-made stock configuration, and then develop them, improve them, install upgrades and new parts. However, things don’t always happen exactly this way - for example, if you want to get a 140 object, you won’t be able to purchase it as stock and upgrade it. The fact is that you need to buy and upgrade a medium tank of the Soviet T-54 branch - it is this tank that will serve you as the basis for a new object. When you already have a fully upgraded T-54 tank, you can explore object 140, spending a little more than 200 thousand gold on it. However, in the end you will get an elite car, for which all the top parts will be installed. If you are interested in what these details are, then you should read this article further.
Object configuration
So, if you've done your research and received a 140 item, you'll naturally be wondering how exactly it's staffed. And here a pleasant surprise awaits you, since this piece of military equipment will please you in almost all respects. For example, it has a U-8TS gun with a caliber of one hundred millimeters, the penetration of which reaches as much as 330 units, and the damage can rise up to 420 units, depending on which part of the enemy tank is being fired at. This gun has a good rate of fire, fairly small dispersion and tolerable aiming, so you can use it to its fullest and gain a serious advantage over your opponents. The tank's hull is not very well armored - the thickness of the armor here reaches a maximum of one hundred millimeters, and in some places it drops to 55 millimeters. As for the tower, it is already much better armored, but at the same time it has several weak points that your enemy can target. Among other things, the rotation speed of the tower is quite high, as is the view from this very tower. allows you to increase the load on the tank to 39 tons, and at the same time it will not lose speed and maneuverability. Well, this tank’s radio station is top-notch. allowing you to transmit light at distances of up to 730 meters. This is roughly what the equipment supplied to object 140 looks like. The guide, of course, is not limited to just listing the tank’s components.
Advantages of the tank
What are the main advantages that object 140 has? The guide will tell you in detail what is good about this car and what is not so good. It’s worth starting with the fact that this tank has a fairly powerful and fast-firing gun with fast aiming, and most importantly, with incredible accuracy that does not fall off even while moving. But this tank is not only strong with a cannon - it is also worth highlighting for its high speed, agility, maneuverability, as well as maneuverability in territories that are not the most pleasant for other vehicles. Well, don’t forget that this object has a fairly low silhouette, which allows it to receive much fewer shells - and even those with a slight delay due to additional information for tanks with a higher landing. Thus, the T-140 object can be considered one of the best medium tanks not only in the Soviet branch, but also in all others.
Disadvantages of the tank
Can any tank be perfect? Object 140 is also not ideal, and in addition to outstanding and memorable pros and cons, it also has disadvantages that should never be forgotten. You will not be able to plan a competent strategy if you pay attention only to the advantages of tanks - this is a deliberately losing tactic. So, the main disadvantage of this tank was already mentioned earlier - the maximum thickness of the armor on the hull leaves much to be desired, so you better not come under direct fire, as this could end in disaster for you. Also, do not stick the turret out too much, since experts on your tank are well aware of where there are hatches on the “thick-skinned” turret that can be easily hit and cause direct damage, bypassing the 240 mm armor. There's also the unfortunate issue of crits hitting fuel tanks and ammo, so you'll need to keep a close eye on where your opponent is shooting to avoid the shells that Object 140 stores burning or even exploding. Your visibility is quite high, so it is quite possible to implement this with due effort.
Battlefield tactics
So, summing up all the pros and cons, we can deduce some basic fundamentals on this tank. First, you need to use your tank's high maneuverability and mobility to attack the enemy and avoid his attacks. The high accuracy of your gun will allow you to shoot on the move, without stopping and exposing your thin armor to fire. Mid to long distances are ideal for the subject and also you need to understand that movement is life. As long as you move and do it competently, you greatly extend your life.
Conclusions on the tank
Object 140 has high dynamics coupled with an excellent weapon. It is well suited for protecting objects due to its high speed, and can take a hit if necessary thanks to the thick armor on the turret. But it can act both as an attack support and as an assault force thanks to its high damage and armor penetration. As a result, you get a universal tank that you just need to learn how to use to decide the outcome of any battle.
Hello, dear tankers. I suggest you take a look at the recently introduced alternative to the long-loved Soviet medium tank. This is a tank that is practically a copy of the T62. Meet Object 140!
To gain access to Ob.140, you will need to spend 206,000 experience earned on the T-54. Buying the 140th will cost the standard amount - 6,100,000 silver. The good news is that the crew of the T-54 fully corresponds to the crew of the Ob.140. Therefore, there will be no problems with the transplant. Two methods of crew training are described below:
- For gold. Since all the skills of the T-54 and Ob.140 crews often coincide, we don’t even have to reset them - it’s enough to simply retrain all members. The cost of such an operation will be 4 * 200 = 800 gold.
- For silver. Not a recommended option, but for many it remains the only one. For those who don’t know, we reset the skills, retrain them, and select the skills again. This way you will have 100% crew, but you will lose a little experience from the last skill - quite justified. The cost of training will be 20,000 * 4 = 80,000 silver. The cost of resetting skills is 20,000 * 4 = 80,000 silver. Total - 160,000 silver.
Our tank has one of the lowest silhouettes at level 10, so applying camouflage is an issue that is not discussed. Its price for all types of cards for 1 month will be 3 * 100,000 = 300,000 credits. For ST10, not so much.
Equipment
Since the car is already in top condition, we will consider each module separately:
We have an excellent gun, which, in principle, is almost no different from the T-62a gun. Fast aiming, good accuracy, good stabilization, mind-blowing rate of fire - that's all we need for the total annihilation of the enemy. Low alpha is present, but at the same time the weapon remains one of the most DPM at the level.
The cast turret has very good armor, so it often catches non-penetrations and ricochets. And thanks to a slightly better UVN than that of our “brother”, we can play more effectively from it. The only ulcer is the hatches, which with the current accuracy will not be difficult to target.
Thanks to our engine, we have more than 16 horses per ton, which gives the Ob.140 excellent top speed and excellent dynamics.
The chassis has a turning speed of 54 degrees/sec. A very good indicator.
The radio's communication range is standard. It is quite enough for a comfortable game.
Advantages and disadvantages of the car in the top configuration
pros
- Overall a very good weapon
- Excellent speed
- Excellent dynamics
- Good turret armor
- Good stealth
Minuses
- Low Alpha
- Cotton body
Balance weight
Like all tens, Ob.140 falls into games of the 10th, 11th and 12th levels. As befits any top, Ob.140 feels great everywhere and has no problems even with the most armored enemies.
Profitability
If you play without a PA, then be prepared for frequent losses. In general, to play a level 10 vehicle, it is advisable to have a PA or premium vehicle. Otherwise, you will find eternal hemorrhoids.
Tactics
The tactics of playing on the Ob.140 are NOTHING different from the tactics on the T-62a (and from the T-54, in fact, too). This is a real medium tank. In general, by and large, Ob.140 is a T-62a with a different model and texture, only 140 has all the characteristics a little worse, but this is so minimal. The difference is that you won't even notice anything. If you have reached T-54 or have already played T-62a, I have nothing to teach you.
Optional equipment
In my humble opinion, the assembly below is additional. equipment - the most optimal. The stabilizer is enough for a comfortable game, so it’s better to install optics in the third slot. You know why. Prices included:
- “Coated optics” - 500,000 silver
- “Large-caliber gun rammer” - 500,000 silver
- “Vertical stabilizer Mk1” - 300,000 silver
Equipment
- Repair kit
- First aid kit
- Fire extinguisher
Verified purchase. If you want to play for stats and at the same time have the means, an additional ration instead of a stew is at your disposal.
Crew Perks

It is assumed that you already had a well-pumped crew, so the grid is divided into 4 skills. In principle, I don’t dare give any clear instructions, because for a ST, many combinations of perks and skills can be quite playable. The above is just one of the options. It all depends on your imagination and preferences.
Vulnerabilities of the machine
They exist and there are more than enough of them. Everything that is available is listed below:
Orange - commander, gunner, loader
Red - engine, tanks, transmission
Green - easily penetrated areas
White - ammunition rack
Blue - driver
The line of Soviet STs is represented by three vehicles at once: Object 140, T-62A And Object 430. A beginner, looking at the parameters of all three machines, will come to the conclusion that they are no different from each other, and only slightly in their appearance. However, this is not quite true. Let's try to figure out what differences they have and which car to choose.
First of all, we note that the Object 430 is significantly inferior in firepower to the two vehicles listed above, and therefore we will not consider it. About. 140 and T-62A are perfectly balanced and effective tanks in close combat, capable of changing the course of the entire battle with a skillful approach.
In total, these are medium and close combat tanks, with decent turret and hull armor, rapid-fire and accurate guns with good stabilization and penetration. They are able to quickly change direction and be where they need to be. Yet there are differences between them, and they seriously affect the style of play on each of them. In order to figure out which tank is better, it is necessary to compare their characteristics for each of the parameters.
Survivability and armor
In terms of safety margin, the T-62A takes the lead, as it has 1950 points compared to 1900 for Ob. 140. This makes it possible in practice to withstand the T-62A one additional shot.
But booking plays a more important role. The strongest place in Soviet STs is always the tower. In the case of the T-62A, it is stronger, since it has less vulnerable commander hatches. In addition, the tower at Ob. 140 is composite, while the T-62A is cast. Thus, the roof of the object is much thinner, which does not give it the ability to deflect shells from X-tier tanks. And although it is difficult to target it, the weak spot remains vulnerable.
It is worth noting that not so long ago the developers promised to give Object 140 a little upgrade and “sew up” the roof of its tower.
As for the hull armor, here is Ob. 140 takes the lead. The fact is that the thickness of its frontal plate, although identical to the T-62A, is tilted at 65 degrees, versus 60. Thus, its overall armor is higher.
![](https://i0.wp.com/games-reviews.net/_pu/12/s74354068.jpg)
With side armor it's still much more interesting. The Object 140 has slopes (a little close to the Object 907 and T-22 sr), while the 62 has no slopes. However, the 62 has an entire bead of 80mm, while the 140 has zones of different thicknesses. Still, due to the slopes, it will be easier to hit the projectile with the side on the Object 140.
Mobility comparison
Many have repeatedly expressed indignation that the T-62A is significantly slower than the previous T-54. And this is true - the maximum speed has suffered and became 50 km/h. Whereas Ob. 140 maintained the figure and the speed remained at 55 km/h. The power density of the latter is also greater - 15.7 versus 16.1 liters. With. per ton.
However, there is one nuance - the T-62A has slightly better cross-country ability. Thus, Ob. The 140 feels better over distance and on hard ground, while its competitor performs slightly better on soft ground.
To the advantages of the T-62A we can add slightly better maneuverability and turret rotation speed - this difference is not critical, but in the hands of a professional it can become a serious weapon.
Firepower
If all the previous differences do not greatly affect the gameplay for each of the vehicles, then it is in the weapon that the main differences lie. Among experienced World of Tanks players it has always been said that the T-62A is a tank for repelling damage, and Ob. 140 – for its application. How can this be proven?
Reloading is the same for both models, but accuracy and stabilization decide the issue here. Looking at the characteristics, we even see that the final accuracy of the T-62 is slightly higher. But there is an indicator that you will not notice in the hangar and will not read about it - this is stabilization and it can only be felt in a combat situation.
At the moment Ob. 140 has one of the best stabilization rates in all of World of Tanks. The dispersion of its gun practically does not increase when the chassis and turret move. This allows him to always be converged and fire without even stopping. The T-62A is also capable of conducting accurate fire on the move at close ranges, while its competitor does everything the same, but also at medium and sometimes long distances.
Another minor difference that no one pays attention to is the small plus of Ob. 140 in the UVN indicator. If the T-62A has it lowered by -5 degrees, then his competitor is able to lower by -6 degrees. No big deal, you say? Not so. It is precisely this one degree of T-62A that is not enough to conduct effective fire due to uneven terrain.
Other parameters of the T-62A and Object 140
As for visibility and stealth, the tanks are identical except that Ob. 140 is a little lower, but this does not play a special role in almost any situations. But there is one more parameter in World of Tanks, which also cannot be found in the hangar. We are talking about the strength of the internal modules.
The fact is that the strength of the fuel tanks and ammunition racks of the T-62A is higher, and their location throughout the tank is more rational. When you play Ob. 140, you get the impression that the ammunition rack is everywhere, hence there is a considerable probability that it will simply be blown up. Get ready that every 20 battles the tower will fly off, as will all units of strength. The T-62A also suffers from this disease, but not so critically.
Who is better?
The question of which tank is better is difficult to answer. Each of them is good in a certain situation, although in general the game for them is identical. If the conversation is about tanking with a turret, then the T-62A will never let you down, while the Ob. 140 sometimes gets into the roof and hatches. But when it comes to dealing damage, it is the last model that performs best, since it does not need time to additionally complete the weapon.
Which tank is easier to play on? For a beginner, the T-62A is best suited, since its turret is one of the best in the game, and it itself is rarely criticized in battle. If you are an experienced player who pursues the goal of “dealing as much damage as possible” and increasing the win percentage, then your choice is Ob. 140.
Thus, one cannot say that some tank is better and some is worse - each has its own element. Both tanking and dealing damage are the main factors that ensure victory in World of Tanks.
What is most important is in the case of Ob. 430 – don’t be fooled by its beautiful appearance. If his other parameters are almost identical to those of our main characters, then the accuracy of his gun is simply terrible, although he outperforms his colleagues in the rate of fire.
Video comparison of T-62A and Object 140 from Near_You
The combination of high speed, excellent gun and decent armor allows the Object 140 medium tank to be a “universal soldier” - it can effectively do everything: “shine” and perform flanking maneuvers. However, the turrets on the turret roof armor are a weak point.
Leveling up
To research Object 140 from the previous T-54 tank, 206,000 experience units are required. When purchasing, you receive a tank with already studied modules, so the title “Elite” is automatically assigned.
How to play
The Object 140 is similar in style to its predecessor, the T-54: good dynamics and cross-country ability, coupled with an excellent weapon, make it possible to inflict damage on the enemy and quickly evade return fire.
The tank is suitable for fans of active battles, but it is worth remembering that the hull armor is weak, and there are two large hatches in the turret, which are quite easy to hit, but if you “twitch”, this will complicate the task at a distance of 100-150 meters.
Medium and long distances are the strength of this tank. Don’t be lazy to change positions and move 100-200 meters away from the rush tanks. “Putting it on the roller” and then carefully disassembling it is the most effective technique with this technique.
On all maps, look for a place where you can hide your body. The tank has excellent stabilization. This makes it possible to actively shoot on the move, even from medium and long distances. The main task of Object 140 is to support allied forces.
Going to the forefront of an attack in a frontal skirmish is ineffective, since the armor of a tank does not pose a serious threat to peers of the same class, and heavy tanks and enemy tank destroyers can seriously damage the Object 140. Outflanking and “carousels” are the main tactics for this tank .
Differences from T-62A
Object 140 would be a copy of the T-62A, if not for one thing - improved gun stabilization. This feature allows you to hit the enemy more often while shooting on the move. Otherwise, the differences are minimal.
Advantages
- An excellent weapon in all respects
- Strong forehead of the tower
- High top speed
- Good cross-country ability
- Small dimensions
Flaws
- Low alpha damage
- Vulnerable turrets on the roof
- Vulnerability of internal modules
Elite equipment
Crew skills and abilities
Equipment and equipment
Bottom line
The role of the tank is to inflict damage on the enemy and hide from return fire. The tank is suitable for fans of aggressive play, but it is worth remembering that the hull armor is weak, and there are two large hatches in the turret that are quite easy to hit.
Object 140 is a universal tank. He can take part in the attack, exposing a heavily armored turret, or conduct targeted fire at tanks located at a considerable distance thanks to an excellent weapon with fast aiming.
Historical reference
As part of the creation of a fundamentally new medium tank, the design of the Object 140 medium tank began in the early 1950s. By 1957, two prototypes of the Object 140 tank were built in Nizhny Tagil. Field tests revealed a number of serious shortcomings in the design of the Object 140 engine and transmission.
For example, the unusual location of the engine across the hull in an inclined position made it difficult to access it during operation and military repairs and required structural modifications for installation in the tank. Soon, due to these problems and disagreements in the design bureau, work on the Object 140 tank was stopped.
