Marine Technical University shipbuilder. Leningrad Shipbuilding Institute
St. Petersburg State Marine Technical University or SPbGMTU was founded back in 1930. This is an institution of higher education with a long history. In 2007, he successfully passed state accreditation and received a certificate for educational activities.
“Korabelka”, as the university was popularly dubbed, is the first and so far the only university in Russia that trains the best world-class engineers in the field of design, construction and operation of sea vessels. The same applies to submarines and warships, technical equipment engaged in the exploration and production of minerals, such as gas and oil, in the depths of the sea. Training takes place at three main faculties of the university. Graduates of Korabelka receive education at the highest level in accordance with international standards. This is confirmed by experts from the London International Institute of Marine Engineers. Holders of diplomas from this university are very highly valued in the USA and European countries.
St. Petersburg State Medical University dates back to 1902. It was then that the first Shipbuilding Department was opened at the St. Petersburg Imperial Polytechnic Institute. It turned out to be very popular and prestigious, as twenty people applied for one place. In 1917, the department was renamed the faculty. Already in 1930, an independent university was formed on its basis - the Leningrad Institute of Shipbuilding. This university was the first to acquire the status of a technical university. This happened in 1990. And in 1992, when Leningrad again began to be called St. Petersburg, the university received its current name - St. Petersburg State Marine Technical University.

Territorial location
Main buildings
- building “U” - Ulyanka, located in the same building. According to the master plan for the development of Leningrad from 1966, in a block of 20 hectares between Leninsky Ave., Stachek and Marshal Zhukov, it was planned to create a complex of buildings of the Leningrad Shipbuilding Institute (head of the workshop, architect N.Z. Matusevich). The first stage of the educational and laboratory building with dynamically increasing floor ledges resembles the silhouette of an ocean liner. Built in 1978, it includes auditoriums, a gym, and canteens. Later (in the 1990s) the second stage of the building was put into operation. The student center located behind it remained unfinished. Next to the first building, parallel to Stachek Avenue, it was planned to erect a second building, larger in size. And between the two buildings there is an experimental pool building. These plans remained unfulfilled. The ensemble of LKI buildings includes dotted buildings of student dormitories, which, by quantitative analogy, bear the title “three little pigs” among students. On the site of the institute stadium there is now a MaxiDom store.
In building "U" students study general engineering specialties.
- buildings “A” and “B” are located on Lotsmanskaya street, no. 3 and 10, respectively. The university administration and main administrative services are located in building “A”. Building “B” houses the Faculty of Shipbuilding and Ocean Engineering, as well as the University Library.
- building "G" - located next to the address: Kronverksky pr. 5. Building “G” houses the Faculty of Marine Instrumentation.
In addition to educational buildings, the Marine Technical University has a rowing base on the Krestovka River, a yacht club on Krestovsky Island, and a research base in Primorsk, Leningrad Region. In the city of Severodvinsk there is a branch of the University - SEVMASHVTUZ.

Story
The university was founded by the shipbuilding department (later the faculty) created in 1899. According to the institute's project, the shipbuilding department was supposed to produce marine engineers trained both for the construction of hulls and mechanisms of ships, mainly commercial ones.
After the start of the work of the shipbuilding department, the competition for this specialty was the highest at the Polytechnic Institute and remained so for several years.
The number of students at the shipbuilding faculty was set at 24 people in each course. The first dean of the shipbuilding faculty of the Polytechnic Institute was appointed naval engineer Konstantin Petrovich Boklevsky, who held this position continuously from 1899 to 1923.

3rd year, Faculty of Science. The university is simply the quintessence of the worst “achievements” of higher education - corruption reigns from the beginning of study to the very end, the caring attitude of teachers towards students (except for a couple of people in senior years), the material base is not even that bad - it simply does not exist, and the pathetic semblance is located in the basement, yes. The dean's office does not expel bad students who pay; you can reach the end of your studies by paying for the sessions through the dean's office or by paying into the teachers' pockets.

Disgusting is the best word to describe the quality of education at Korabelka. Hello to the main bribe takers Ter-Akopyants senior and junior, Golubev, Sorokin, Dogadin, Legusha, Embil (Google it) and the rest.

Of particular note is the simply terrible situation with corruption, the lack of normal infrastructure (libraries and dormitories are in disgusting condition) and the almost complete absence of acquired knowledge. The contingent of ignorant students, drug addicts, rowdy people and simply wonderful people corresponds to the university.

The ship's engineers are trained very well - not for the first hundred years. But it’s very difficult to study. There are all sorts of professors there, they don’t take bribes, it’s normal to close on the 5th or 6th attempt. But no one will give a humanities education as such, although some of the teachers (law, social studies, history, psychology) are above all praise, and they can easily present a lot of knowledge. but there are no requirements for humanities students. Shipbuilding is only for techies.. Or from the army to mow
