The best mirrorless cameras: choose among budget and top-end ones! The best mirrorless cameras: strong competitors to DSLR models.
Now let’s talk as briefly as possible about what they are. Using several models as an example:
The first system camera from the company. It is equipped with hybrid focusing, which also works in video mode, and is considered one of the best offers in terms of price/quality. But the low cost is counterbalanced by disadvantages: not the largest fleet of optics and lack of Wi-Fi.
A stylish and high-quality camera for a reasonable price, which is an improved model of the Fujifilm X-A1 (also presented in the table). Its advantage is in the sensor - X-Trans CMOS provides a more detailed and bright picture. It also has additional shooting modes: interval, multiple exposure and HDR stitching. Notably, this is the first camera from Fujifilm with a tilting display and Wi-Fi. The controls are designed for beginners, so if you are one of them, you can handle it easily. Well, it looks really solid, as you can see in the photo below.
Fujifilm X-M1 mirrorless camera with different lenses
A very interesting model for a reasonable price. What are its advantages? Firstly, a large APS-C sensor with 20 megapixels, and secondly, the largest touch display - 3.7 inches diagonal. Well, a wide range of optics can be safely added to the asset - about two dozen lenses for your choice.
In the table you can also see four Sony models at once - this brand has seriously taken on the mirrorless market. Speaking of models , NEX-3N, Alpha a3000 and Alpha a5000, then we should note the presence of high-quality APS-C format sensors, ample capabilities for shooting Full-HD video, high sensor sensitivity and minimalism in parameters and design. The company's specialists seem to be trying to say that system cameras can compete in price with SLR cameras.
More details about these models can be found in our catalog. Well, we move on to the top options.
When quality comes first: the best on the market!
When looking at the best system cameras, it's clear that Fujifilm, Olympus, Sony and Samsung dominate the field. They are represented by 8 models out of 10 on our list. The characteristics of the cameras, again, see the table below.
Of the presented models, I would like to dwell in more detail on several: Fujifilm X-T1, Nikon 1 AW1, Samsung NX30 and Sony Alpha 7/Sony Alpha 7R. Others are no less worthy of attention, but they cannot accommodate everything, and these devices aroused a lot of discussion and people wanting to test them.
They waited a long time, and already before the official presentation, dozens of news could be found on the Internet. This is the first rugged camera from Fujifilm and the first model made in a retro style. The camera body is made of magnesium alloy, and the connectors, buttons and other elements have sealing gaskets - more than 75 pieces! In addition, this model has the most close-up view Finder among “mirrorless” cameras - resolution of 2.36 million dots. There is no built-in flash, but a detachable flash is included. In conclusion, we note that this is the first digital camera to support SD memory cards of the latest high-speed UHS-II class.
Fujifilm X-T1 - film style camera
Another protected model. This is a truly unique camera, as it will allow you to shoot at a depth of up to 15 meters without any underwater housings. Some publications that conducted tests note that they dived with the camera even to a depth of 19 meters, and the camera passed these tests. Just keep in mind that you need to use protected lenses under water, of which there are only one or two so far. But under normal conditions, standard Nikon 1 optics are also suitable. There is also a digital compass and a GPS receiver, which other models cannot boast of.
- “mirrorless”, which is similar to a “compact DSLR”. This camera has everything to compete with other manufacturers, but its main feature is its great wireless capabilities. You can directly upload pictures to Dropbox, distribute material to several devices at once, and even has a “video baby monitor” function. By the way, Samsung has released a unique lens for 2D and 3D shooting for this device.
Well, the best - and. We have combined these cameras into one item for a reason - these are the only two representatives on the market with a full-frame sensor. Of course, there is also Leica, but the price there is on a completely different level.
Sony Alpha 7R is the best on the market!
Here you can say this: “Sony wanted it - Sony released it”! The design of the cameras is angular and unremarkable, but the capabilities and quality of the images are at the highest level. Despite the similarity in name, the cameras are seriously different. Thus, Sony Alpha 7 has a 24-megapixel sensor and is aimed at a wide range of consumers. It is cheaper, and the body is made of the simplest materials.
Sony Alpha 7R is equipped with a 36-megapixel sensor. It has no low-pass filter and uses 25-point autofocus. The camera body is weatherproof, which further affects its cost. This option is more expensive and requires you to shell out a considerable amount.
Also, the advantages of these two cameras include high-resolution viewfinders (2.36 million dots), the presence of a Wi-Fi module, tilting screens and connectors for external microphones and headphones.
The most anticipated mirrorless cameras on the market
And finally, let's note a few cameras that were announced recently and should be expected to go on sale soon: Panasonic Lumix DMC-GM5, Olympus PEN E-PL7 and Samsung NX1.
Lumix DMC-GM5 is an inexpensive “mirrorless” camera with a Four Thirds system that will certainly appeal to beginning photographers. Olympus PEN E-PL7- a model for selfie lovers. It has a Selfie Mode: when you tilt the display to the maximum level (180°), a virtual shutter button will appear - the photo will be automatically taken after one second. Well, the most interesting model is Samsung NX1. As noted on many news resources: “The most promising mirrorless camera.”
Camera NX1 - top model from Samsung
The flagship of this line, and if we look at it from a functional point of view, it is the most powerful “mirrorless” camera. Here, for the first time, a large 28-megapixel APS-C sensor with matrix back-illumination technology is used. Hybrid focusing - 205 points; continuous shooting - 15 fps, video recording - 4K; protection from dust and moisture; there is an adaptive noise reduction function; additional display on the top panel, etc. The characteristics are very solid and, most likely, many are eager to try this device.
You will find all these cameras in our catalog. You can study their characteristics in detail, look at reviews and choose for them. Stay with TechnoPortal!
04:58 pm - My rating of tested cameras with interchangeable lensesTo begin with I would like to say that this is personal my conclusions, based on my experiences shooting with these cameras. Why I got involved in this and how I evaluated different cameras for myself can be read here:. Based on these criteria, I compiled a small camera rating, in which I arranged the tested cameras in descending order of their attractiveness for me. I accompanied each point with brief comments so that people could understand why I put each system in one position or another. Well, so that everyone can make their own rating, according to their preferences.
Since everything can no longer fit into a single post (the limit on the number of characters interferes), and it’s strange to compare cameras of different categories with each other (yes, the arguments are in that order), I decided to make several different rating posts. This first. And it is dedicated to the class of equipment with interchangeable lenses (I will not divide equipment here by matrix size or by specularity/mirrorlessness).
So.
1. FUJIFILM X-E2
+ good automatic operation
+ built-in WiFi moduleRelatively high price of camera and lenses
- inconvenient operation with the built-in WiFi module
Here is a repeat of everything that was written in the review FUJIFILM X-E1. Plus, have X-E2 sensor with phase detection sensors installed on it, a new fast processor that raised system performance to a new level and made it possible to increase the bit depth of RAW files to 14-bit, a more detailed screen and corrected ergonomic flaws that were inherent in earlier models of X-series cameras. In general, it turned out to be an excellent device for every day!
2. Olympus OM-D E-M5
In general, it was very difficult to decide on leadership, and it’s not a matter of bias, as many would probably think. However, I don’t give a damn what anyone thinks. =:) In many ways, this camera shares its place with X-E2 thanks to the following qualities:
+ development of the micro4/3 system and the presence of a large number of lenses
+ high speed of the system as a whole
+ convenient rotating touch screen and electronic viewfinder
+ very good stabilizer performance
+ dust and moisture protection
+ cute designInconvenient menu and management of additional functions
- small and not very convenient control buttons
- easily peelable silver paint on the camera body
Perhaps, Olympus OM-D E-M5- this is a clear success for Olympus! The camera turned out to be so good, in my opinion, that competitors will clearly have to catch up with it for a long time. Especially when you consider that there are already many excellent and relatively inexpensive lenses for this camera.
3. FUJIFILM X-M1
Pros and cons:
+ high image quality
+ beautiful colors and high-quality film simulation, beautiful b/w
+ excellent shooting quality at high ISO values
+ good automatic operation
+ additional control of automatic operating modes
+ wonderful lenses, the line of which is expanding
+ the ability to purchase adapters for any 35mm standard lenses
+ rotating screen
+ built-in WiFi module
+ attractive appearance and high quality workmanship
- ridiculous control of the WiFi module
The conclusions about this camera are quite contradictory. It’s a pity, of course, that the screen rotates only about one axis, but the very fact of its rotation is a great blessing. It’s a pity, of course, that they cut off the electronic viewfinder, but at the same time the price of the camera turned out to be relatively low (compared to other X-series models equipped with the same sensor). It’s a pity, of course, that the kit lens turned out to be so ordinary, but there is always the opportunity to use other excellent FUJINON lenses with this camera, and through adapters you can install almost any 135-format optics. It’s a pity, of course, that in terms of speed the system remained at the same satisfactory level, but now fans have an excellent sensor and a bunch of automatic modes at their disposal. And so on and so forth.
In general, I believe that in the face X-M1 FUJIFILM has managed to make a wonderful entry-level camera in the X-series line. With excellent design, high build quality and, most importantly, excellent performance. Although, of course, it’s a pity that X-M1 didn't show up a year or two ago. =:)
4. FUJIFILM X-E1
Well-deserved first place because:
+ beautiful colors and high-quality film simulation, beautiful b/w
+ excellent shooting quality at high ISO values
+ good automatic operation, allowing you to easily shoot in JPEG
+ wonderful lenses, the line of which is expanding
+ the ability to purchase adapters for any 35mm standard lenses
+ attractive appearance and high quality workmanshipThe electronic viewfinder is only good for quiet scenes
- relatively low speed of the system as a whole
- inconvenient focusing area control system and minor flaws in ergonomics
In principle, one could repeat here and say the same thing that was written in the review FUJIFILM X-Pro1, about high quality in an affordable size and at an affordable price. With the only difference that X-E1 even more compact and cheaper. Therefore, I will not repeat myself, I will only say that for now this is my main camera - it can shoot everything that I shot before with full-frame cameras at comparable quality (or even better, if we talk about colors, for example), but the space in my backpack is limited takes much less.
5. FUJIFILM X-Pro1
This place is conditional because X-Pro1 technically completely coincides with X-E1, the only advantages here are a combined optical-electronic viewfinder and a better screen. Well, seniority in the line. And this leads to a noticeable increase in price... Pros and cons:
+ high image quality comparable to the best 35mm DSLRs
+ beautiful colors and high-quality film simulation, beautiful b/w
+ excellent shooting quality at high ISO values
+ good automatic operation, allowing you to get excellent quality even in JPEG
+ wonderful lenses, the range of which is growing
+ the ability to purchase adapters for any 35mm standard lenses
+ hybrid optical/electronic viewfinder
+ attractive appearance and high quality workmanshipLow speed of the system as a whole
- inconvenient focus area control system
- high price
In terms of picture, detail, color rendition and work at high ISOs X-Pro1 everything is at least not bad, so the issue of compactness is already beginning to become significant. For example, in my photo backpack, which fits a DSLR plus three lenses and a charger, you can’t put anything bulky anymore. But you can easily put it in the same backpack X-Pro1 with three similar lenses plus a charger and still have half of the free space left! This means that on short trips you can no longer travel with two bags, but with one photo backpack. For me this is a huge plus of the system. X-Pro1. And not at all what is often expressed on various photo forums in a drawn-out groan “By-y-y, the camera is big, you can’t put it in your pocket!..”
That is, we can say that today FUJIFILM has managed to make a very serious system, in no way inferior in its capabilities to bulky “DSLRs”, and in some ways even superior to them. That's why, X-Pro1 I can confidently recommend it both as the only camera for enthusiastic amateurs, and as another camera for professionals experienced in photography.
6. Sony Alpha NEX-7
Sony Alpha NEX-7, today the flagship of the NEX line, embodying the company’s technical innovations:
+ excellent camera equipment
+ attractive appearance
+ very good built-in electronic viewfinder
+ high-quality rotating screen
+ convenient controls
+ almost complete hot shoe and accessories for itBlind buttons, difficult to operate by touch
- ergonomic miscalculations
- autofocus errors when using a phase focusing adapter
- overpriced
In general, to summarize, then Sony Alpha NEX-7 all so contradictory: "that's good, but..." or "this is not very good, although..." Almost every plus is balanced by a minus and vice versa. The camera is something of a contradiction. However, very often it is precisely this character that gives rise to a “polar attitude”, when one group of people almost categorically declares: “This is a wonderful system and it couldn’t be better!”, and the other states in exactly the same way: “no, the system, alas, failed!”. All the love or hate for Sony Alpha NEX-7, everything will depend only on your preferences.
7. Sony Alpha NEX-5
Basically, I wrote a review on the previous model, Sony Alpha NEX-5, but with the new version, not much has changed, except that the autofocus was corrected, the matrix was noticeably updated and a touchscreen was added. If you put all the pros and cons together, this is what you get:
+ one of the most compact models among all mirrorless cameras with an APS-C sensor
+ ability to work with a phase focusing adapter that supports A-mount lenses
+ the ability to use third-party optics by installing them through adapters
+ high quality rotating screen with touchscreen
+ attractive appearance
+ reasonable price
- confusing and not very user-friendly menu
- a peculiar balance of the camera, not everyone can hold it comfortably
I can safely recommend this camera to everyone, except those who would also like to shoot with it in the studio. Sony has turned out to be a very successful system, it could use a little more polishing... But here we need the marketers of this company to finally stop being afraid that the NEX system will gobble up the younger line of “DSLR” cameras. Let him eat, that's where they go.
8. Sony Alpha NEX-C3
In general, all the same pros and cons that the previous paragraph had:
+ one of the most compact models among all mirrorless cameras
+ high picture quality, even with “whale” lenses
+ good shooting quality at high ISO values
+ ability to work with a phase focusing adapter that supports A-mount lenses
+ the ability to use third-party optics by installing them through adapters
+ high quality rotating screen
+ attractive appearance
+ reasonable priceNo hot shoe or normal flash with rotating head
- confusing and not very user-friendly menu
- a peculiar balance of the camera, not everyone can hold it comfortably
The recommendations are the same as under the previous paragraph.
9. Nikon 1 J1
I spoke in detail about the cameras of this system in the review. In my opinion, these cameras are now unfairly disgraced on the Internet. You just need to understand that not everyone needs circles in the bokeh; for many, the high speed and accuracy of automation is more important. Pros and cons of this camera:
+ highest operating speed
+ excellent automatic operation
+ one of the most compact mirrorless camerasBoring, loose picture
- lack of a hot shoe and the ability to use a flash with a rotating head
Nikon 1 J1 I can confidently recommend it to those who lead an active lifestyle, who take pictures of something quick, and who at the same time do not have the opportunity/desire to bother with settings and selection of shooting modes. Very good point-n-shoot camera! Well, plus J1 I can recommend it to “Nikonists” - I think that with optics from “adult” Nikon cameras the picture can flourish. Nice machine.
10. Pentax K-01
Pentax K-01- a very unique, let’s say, mirrorless camera. A certain Marc Newson worked on its design, which we are reminded of not only by the unusual appearance of the camera, but also by the sign with the designer’s autograph. I had never heard anything about Marc Newson himself before or since. I cannot add the traditional expression “to my shame” in such situations, because I am not at all ashamed in this particular case. The design of this camera did not appeal to me at all, to put it mildly. Perhaps in something, but only in extravagance Pentax K-01 and you won't refuse. Well, all the pros and cons can be seen here:
+ high image quality
+ works well at high ISOs
+ ability to use a wide range of Pentax K-mount optics
+ customizable controls and clear menu
+ powerful built-in flash
+ unusual appearanceUnusual appearance
- mistakes in ergonomics
- large size and weight
- continuous shooting in RAW is limited to 1 fps
Conclusions - This is perhaps the most difficult part of reviewing this camera. I believe that Pentax K-01- this is so far the only camera that can be purchased not based on a set of characteristics, but solely because you like it and want to buy it.
In general, it is difficult for me to give any meaningful and logical assessment of this camera. I can only admit that this was the purpose of releasing such a camera - to confuse us and give everyone a chance to think again about what we value in cameras? What do we like? What do we love and what do we hate? And is it true that there is only one step between these two states?
11. Olympus E-PM1
It may seem surprising that in my opinion this camera is not as good as the previous one in this rating. But there are reasons for this. All the pros and cons can be seen here:
+ compact camera dimensions, one of the smallest in the review
+ availability of good high-aperture “fixes” in the line of lenses
+ ability to use other optics of the micro 4/3 system
+ almost silent operationAutofocus errors
Usually I don’t say anything about noise and consider it just a feature of the cameras. But here is a slightly different case: the noise is still quite noticeable. However, this is not so important. Olympus E-PM1 I would recommend it for purchase to those who need a compact, quiet micro 4/3 camera. Moreover, I would recommend it for purchase in a set with high-aperture prime lenses from Olympus and Panasonic.
12. Nikon 1 V1
About the second camera of the family Nikon 1 you can say the same thing as about the compact J1, but there are also differences. I have put together the pros and cons:
+ highest operating speed
+ excellent combined autofocus
+ excellent automatic operation
+ the highest shooting speed – up to 60 full-size frames per second
+ ability to use Nikon optics via an adapter
+ the presence of an electronic viewfinder will allow you to shoot comfortably in bright sunshine
+ additional shoe for accessories, including your own flash with a rotating headBoring picture
- modest dynamic range of the matrix
- immodest size and weight
- high price in Russia
It was the high price and large dimensions/weight that moved this generally good camera to 8th place in the individual standings. I can recommend it to those who are suitable J1, but who wants additional advantages.
13. Samsung NX200
Alas, as often happens in movies, the sequel turns out to be no better than the first part. NX200, it seems, also fits into this rule... We can only hope for a speedy cure for childhood diseases. In the meantime:
+ convenient controls
+ compact dimensions
+ works well at high ISOsLow speed
- unreasonably huge size of RAW files
- faded colors, automation errors
This camera can be recommended to those who have/had a previous system from Samsung. And for those who are ready to put up with low speed and don’t worry about the lack of disk space on their computer. And also for those who want to work with a good line of lenses and are ready to wait for a possible correction of childhood diseases in new system firmware...
14. Samsung NX100
Perhaps one of the most balanced systems today. Its pros and cons are quite moderate, but they are in good harmony, it seems to me:
+ good autofocus performance
+ convenient controls
+ nice pictureFormally, there are none... well, unless the system is somewhat outdated in its parameters and capabilities
We can safely recommend this camera to those who want a good, hassle-free camera with additional equipment, but do not want to overpay.
15. Panasonic Lumix GF2
The difference with the previous point is small. I would say they are on the same level. The pros and cons are:
+ good autofocus performancePoor image quality at high ISOs
- inconvenient cloudy display with touchscreen
You can take this camera for the sake of optics, but a few points above there are Olympus E-PM1, which is better in all respects Panasonic Lumix GF, In my opinion. Hence this is the only position in my personal camera rating.
16. Olympus E-P3
The camera turned out to be quite good, but there are a number of nuances due to which it is only in this place. The most important pros and cons are:
+ the ability to use a good set of optics from Panasonic and OlympusFrequent autofocus errors
- quite large sizes
- it’s unclear why there’s a touchscreen, illogical controls
- annoying noise even at fairly low ISOs
In my opinion, there are few advantages... All other things being equal, I would recommend taking Olympus E-PM1.
17. Panasonic Lumix GF1
Oddly enough, but despite my age, Lumix GF1 looks pretty good. Its pros and cons are, in my opinion:
+ one of the most convenient and intuitive controls among similar cameras
+ good autofocus performance
+ the ability to use a good set of optics from Panasonic and OlympusLow picture quality at high ISOs (from 800 and above)
- the camera is already quite outdated in its capabilities and characteristics
Eh, it’s a pity that cameras with such convenient controls are almost no longer made...
18. Olympus E-PL1
The camera is not new for a long time, I tested it a long time ago. Here are my pros and cons back then:
+ good autofocus performance
+ good ergonomics and quality materials
+ good automatic operation
+ the ability to use a good set of optics from Panasonic and OlympusDull colors in RAW, poisonous in JPEG
- high noise level
- insufficient dynamic range of the matrix
That is, everything was spoiled by the old matrix. This is what I wrote about then Olympus E-PL1: “In theory, if Olympus would put a new generation matrix in this device, it would turn out to be a hit, which could be safely recommended as a replacement for entry-level DSLRs! For now, this is not the case and the Olympus E-PL1 remains an amateur machine, in my opinion, with such a matrix it cannot beat NEX." In general, nothing much has changed in this regard, as you can see.
Everything changes, everything is impermanent and everything is known by comparison. Therefore, the cameras can change places.
But in lately We're seeing all the major players in the market working twice as hard, resulting in new high-quality compacts and fast mirrorless models that also have interchangeable lenses.
Modern cameras are better than ever! While traditional DSLRs have remained largely unchanged, the mirrorless camera market is booming and prices continue to fall. Today you can get a high-quality camera with an interchangeable lens for 30 thousand rubles. This is great, but it also means that choosing a model has become even more difficult. Fortunately for you, we have tested all the main models on the market and prepared the annual rating of the Photar.ru website - The best cameras 2015-2016. Now you can choose the best and most suitable camera for you.
Sensor: Full frame, 42.4 MP | Lenses: Sony E | Display: Viewfinder: Electronic | Continuous shooting: 5 fps | Video: 3840x2160 | User level: Pro
Sony's full-frame A7 series has been shrouded in greatness since its inception. It features a 42-megapixel full-frame sensor, a high-speed processor and amazing 4K video capabilities. Battery life leaves a lot to be desired, but that's about the only drawback you'll find with the camera.
Second place: Canon EOS 5Ds
Sensor: Full frame, 50.6 MP | Lenses: Canon EF | Display: 3.2 inches, 1,040k dots | Viewfinder: Optical | Continuous shooting: 5 fps | Video: 1920x1080 | User level: Pro
Canon has also entered the megapixel fray. has the highest sensor resolution on the full-frame camera market. It is 50 megapixels. It's the perfect combination of performance and reliability for studio photography, landscapes and portraits.
The best camera for enthusiasts
Leica Q (Typ 116)
Sensor: Full frame, 24 MP | Lens: Non-replaceable, 28mm, F1.7 | Display: 3 inches, 1,040k dots | Viewfinder: Electronic | Continuous shooting: 10 fps | Video: 1920x1080 | User level: Average
If you have some extra money, then a camera could be your best purchase. It combines the German manufacturer's legendary lens quality with a superb full-frame sensor that produces stunning images. For some, the device may seem too expensive, but any true photographer will fall in love with it the first time they use it.
The best mirrorless cameras 2015-2016
First place: Sony Alpha A7R II
Sensor: Full frame, 42.4 MP | Lenses: Sony E | Display: 3 inches, 1,228.8k dots | Viewfinder: Electronic | Continuous shooting: 5 fps | Video: 3840x2160 | User level: Pro
Key advantages over its predecessor include Wi-Fi for easy image transfer, as well as a GPS system for tracking your location.
You also benefit from the EXPEED 4 processor, which allows for full HD video recording. The display diagonal is also increased to 3.2 inches, and the number of pixels in it is 1,037 thousand.
Nikon has gotten rid of the optical low-pass filter in the sensor, allowing you to capture more detail than before, and has also extended battery life to 600 shots on a single charge.
You get all this combined with a 39-point autofocus system, 5fps continuous shooting and a standard ISO range of 12800 or its extended ISO 25600 equivalent.
The best SLR cameras under 30 thousand rubles
First place: Nikon D3300
Sensor: APS-C, 24.2 MP | Lenses: Nikon DX, FX | Display: 3 inches, 921k dots | Viewfinder: Optical | Continuous shooting: 5 fps | Video: 1920x1080 | User level: Newbie
The lowest-end model in Nikon's DSLR series doesn't have some of the fancy attributes of its siblings, but if you want a solid set of specs for under 30k, this is a great choice.
The 24.2-megapixel sensor puts it on par with its competitors, and the ISO setting range of up to 25600 (equivalent) makes the camera quite respectable.
It also allows for continuous shooting at 5 frames per second, has an 11-point autofocus system and the ability to shoot Full HD video up to 50/60p, and 700 shots on a single battery charge elevates the camera above its competitors.
In addition, it has a compact body and weighs 410 g.
Unfortunately, there is no Wi-Fi and GPS (although it is possible to connect external modules), but for budget models with no frills, this is exactly what you need.
- Nikon D3300 review | 6 best lenses for Nikon D3300
Second place: Sony Alpha SLT-A58
Sensor: APS-C, 20.1 MP | Lenses: Sony A | Display: 2.7 inches, 460k dots | Viewfinder: Electronic | Continuous shooting: 5 fps | Video: 1920x1080 | User level: Newbie
It's not technically a DSLR camera, as its mirror doesn't move and there's no optical viewfinder, but this model is worth a look due to its impressive set of specifications.
For a low price you will get a 20.1 MP sensor, Full HD video recording, an image stabilization sensor and a 15-point autofocus system.
The camera is equipped with a translucent mirror and a 1.44 million dot OLED electronic viewfinder, which many users may prefer over an optical one. Another advantage is continuous shooting up to 8 frames per second when using Tele-zoom, otherwise the camera shoots at a frequency of 5 fps.
The only negative is that the screen has a relatively small size (2.7 inches) and resolution (460,000 dots), although it can be rotated to a convenient position for shooting.
The best semi-automatic cameras
First place: Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX10 II
Sensor: 1″, 20.2 MP | Lens: Non-replaceable, 24-199mm, F2.8 | Display: 3 inches, 1,228.8k dots | Viewfinder: Electronic | Continuous shooting: 14 fps | Video: 3840x2160 | User level: Newbie
Interchangeable lenses allow you to be flexible, but they can be awkward to carry around. has a fixed 8x zoom lens with a wide constant aperture of F/2.8. This allows the camera to be easy and fast to use, take good photos in dim light, and set the focal lengths to whatever focal lengths you want. Flaws? It's expensive.
Second place: Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ1000
Sensor: 1″, 20 MP | Lens: Non-replaceable, 25-400mm, F2.8-F4 | Display: 3 inches, 1921 thousand points | Viewfinder: Electronic | Continuous shooting: 12 fps | Video: 3840x2160 | User level: Newbie
Do you want to spend less and get more? is an excellent choice. The longer 16x zoom lens and smaller sensor aren't as good in low light, but the camera can shoot excellent 4K videos.
The best pocket cameras
Sensor: 1″, 20 MP | Lens: 24-69mm, F1.8-F2.8 | Display: 3 inches, 1,228.8k dots | Viewfinder: Electronic | Continuous shooting: 16 fps | Video: 3840x2160 | User level: Newbie
Why do you need a semi-automatic camera if it doesn't fit in your pocket? The best pocket camera at the moment is the . Despite its slim body, it has a 1-inch image sensor, 4K video capability, and a pop-up electronic viewfinder. And if the price is too much for you, the previous generation RX100 models are almost as good, but much more affordable.
Second place: Canon PowerShot G7 X
Sensor: 1″, 20.2 MP | Lens: 24-100mm, F1.8-F2.8 | Display: 3 inches, 1,040k dots | Viewfinder: No | Continuous shooting: 6.5 fps | Video: 1920x1080 | User level: Newbie
If you want something cheaper and easier to use, this would be a great choice. It doesn't have the same viewfinder as the RX100 IV, but it's a surprisingly powerful little camera that costs several hundred dollars less.
The best superzooms 2015-2016

Let's look at the TOP 3 best mirrorless cameras of 2017 in order to understand how much the new technology has advanced, whether it makes sense to overpay for complex hardware, or whether you can entrust all the best things in life to a good old, proven DSLR, without bothering with fashion trends.
Sony Alpha A7 II mirrorless camera
This is the second generation of the top A7 series from Sony. The device has remained virtually unchanged in appearance, but has received a built-in image stabilizer, which its younger brother lacked. The latter, we recall, was released as an experiment, to test the market, so to speak, but gained popularity among mere mortals, to whom the device gave the opportunity to feel like real photographers.
- Appearance and control. As before, the second generation of the A7 series is positioned by the manufacturer as a replacement for entry-level full-frame DSLRs, which it does with success, but first things first. Despite the fact that the design of the camera has undergone virtually no changes, the weight of the device has increased. Now with dimensions: 126.9x95.7x59.7 mm, this parameter is equal to 559 g. At the same time, ergonomics have improved. Thus, the grip handle fits more tightly in the hand, the shooting button and the front selector dial have moved lower, so it has become more convenient to operate the device, smoother, and to take photographs on the go. In addition, a fourth programmable button has appeared, on which you can set image stabilization. True, there were some flaws. The small and unnecessary key for recording video has not gone anywhere, the selector dial practically does not protrude from the body and is inconvenient to operate, but there are three of them, so with a certain skill you get quite friendly control.
- Screen and viewfinder. The device has a 3-inch LCD display with an inclined design and a resolution of 1,228,800 pixels. The interface remains the same, that is, it is made in black, white and yellow colors with horizontal navigation and a quick menu, where all controls are concentrated at the bottom of the screen in a single block. The Live View mode has not gone away, allowing you to overlay a grid, histogram and virtual horizon on the image. The half-inch electronic viewfinder has a fairly high resolution - 2,400,000 dots. It completely covers the frame and essentially duplicates the main screen. You can switch between them using the eye sensor integrated into the eyepiece. The sensor is very sensitive, so if you are not used to it, you can accidentally switch from the main screen to the viewfinder with a simple movement of your finger. Moreover, the first received wider viewing angles, increased brightness, which prevents the display from fading in the sun, but touch control was never implemented.
- Functionality. The filling has not changed. It uses a 24.3-megapixel full-frame sensor coupled with the BIONZ X processor. The continuous shooting speed has increased to 20 frames per second, the device has become faster to turn on - in one and a half seconds. Autofocus without unpleasant fidgeting and when determining the distance to an object gives a good increase in speed, but the system tends to miss. Manual focusing is not entirely manual, as it involves assistance by zooming the picture, but this is more of a plus than a minus. Other features include five-axis stabilization without stabilization, so that, so to speak, you can feel like a real photographer with an eye for old manual optics. This is, of course, a controversial decision, since it is not enough for a professional, and it will not be easy for a novice photographer to adapt. The shutter turned out to be loud, which means it won’t be possible to remain unnoticed on the street. The shooting modes are trivial: P/A/S/M, iAuto, panorama, video, scene and two custom settings. Of particular note is the iAuto+ mode, which activates multi-frame composition to eliminate blur and noise in low light. However, there is no built-in flash, that is, you can only use an external solution, purchased separately. The synchronization speed with it is 1/250 of a second. We were pleased with the software capabilities of the Alpha A7 II. Using them, you can stitch together panoramas on the go, eliminate skin blemishes, crop a portrait, etc. It turns out to be a kind of Photoshop within the camera.
- Experts say that the camera’s native lens is mediocre, as it involves plastic optics, but it is enough for “everyone.” The build quality is high and it's a pleasure to work with. The automatic mode is configured more than correctly and sets the white balance and exposure correctly. When shooting continuously with artificial lighting, artifacts cannot be avoided, but then the manual mode comes into its own. In addition, there is noise reduction. Macro photography and portrait mode are beyond praise. Color rendition is a little faded, but it renders colors naturally without the fanaticism of a DSLR. The output you get is a JPEG or RAW format with a resolution of 7952x5304 pixels, which is not much, but higher than that of its brother.
- Video. The mirrorless camera can shoot Full-HD video with FPS up to 60 frames per second and progressive scan (bitrate at 28 Mbit/s). Declared support for AVCHD formats, which is the main one, MP4 and XAVC S. Thus, the video quality borders on professional, but there is no support for 4K, which is depressing, since many are now switching to this high-definition format.
- Interfaces. Physical interfaces include USB/AV and HDMI, and wireless interfaces include Wi-Fi and NFC. The camera can be controlled and synchronized with a smartphone, transfer photos to a computer and supports remote printing. There is a headphone output and an input for an external microphone. There is also a built-in stereo microphone.
- Autonomy. A lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 1050 mAh is responsible for this parameter. The charge is approximately enough for 400 shots, which is not much, especially compared to full-frame DSLR competitors, where the electronics consume less energy.
- Additionally. The updated line of branded lenses has been significantly expanded compared to the first generation Alpha A7.
Fujifilm X-T20 Kit Mirrorless Camera
The camera, like the competitor described above, is an improved version of the flagship Fujifilm X-T2 in a lighter body. At the same time, all the important characteristics remained in place, while the secondary ones disappeared. The result is a balanced device at a more affordable price.
- Appearance and control. Externally, the device resembles the previous model, but now you can safely add the prefix “light” to the name. With dimensions of 118.4 x 82.8 x 41.4 mm, the device weighs 383 grams versus 507 grams for the X-T2. This is achieved through the use of magnesium alloy and a more compact filling layout. Among the innovations, the video mode is now on the selector dial, and the exposure compensation dial has been replenished with a “C” symbol, which allows you to activate exposure compensation five steps higher or lower in 1/3 increments. There is also a rocker on the body that turns on the Advanced SR Auto mode and allows you to select its settings. Ergonomics are traditionally excellent; the edges of the device are slightly beveled and allow you to hold the device firmly. The working plane is covered with a rough lining, which allows you to hold the device even in sweaty hands. You can control the aperture using a ring on the optic or use a programmable dial. However, unlike its brother, there is no joystick for controlling focus points, which compensates for the touchscreen main screen, which was not previously present on older models. Also gone is the customizable button that could be used to activate video recording. Now this is the prerogative of the quick menu. The software interface remains virtually the same and allows you to use up to 16 functions. In addition, you can display a grid, virtual horizon and histogram on the screen. The main menu is not entirely convenient; for example, setting up and turning on the wireless network are for some reason located in different subsections. The autofocus control is interestingly implemented. So, if the shutter key is pressed halfway, then it is carried out continuously. There is also positioning by eyes, and by the right or left eye separately.
- Screen and viewfinder. The new product has an inclined touch screen with a diagonal of three inches. Focus is adjusted by tapping and moving the point to the desired area. The responsiveness of the sensor is excellent, but at the same time it does not accept accidental touches. The display can be deactivated in the settings, that is, there is no automatic switching to the viewfinder. The latter has a resolution of 2.36 million dots, it supports 0.62x zoom, and the image display delay is no more than 0.005 seconds. Together, this increases sharpness; there is a built-in flash, which automatically adjusts its intensity depending on the degree of illumination.
- Functionality. The new product has an APS-C matrix with a resolution of 1.04 million pixels and an image stabilizer built into the lens. Autofocusing, thanks to the new zone-phase algorithm, occurs at 0.06 seconds. There are five sets of settings: universal, tracking an object, changing speed and following the nearest object, there is also a sports mode. Continuous shooting speed at 5 frames per second, shutter release with a 0.05-second delay. Overall not bad for a mirrorless camera, but I want better. The processor used is X-Processor Pro, capable of processing 24.3 megapixels of the matrix. It has an extended range feature, which was an option on the previous model but is standard here. The camera comes with one lens with a 35mm focal length. There are no complaints about the quality, besides, it is lightweight and is aimed at both close-up photography and portraits. It does not promise unprecedented zoom.
- Filming quality and testing. Now the device supports 4K video, but the image resolution remains the same - 6000x4000 pixels. Traditionally, for mirrorless cameras, priority is set to automatic mode, and here it is implemented perfectly. Among the features worth noting are multiple exposures, as well as three drive options and two types of bracketing. Thus, high-quality pictures are obtained in any lighting, but panorama and macro are better taken in manual mode. Also, ordinary users will like professional effects, for which two divisions are allocated on the selector.
- Interfaces. The set of interfaces is standard - HDMI, USB, 2.5 mm connector for an external microphone or remote control. You can share photos and control the camera using your smartphone via Wi-Fi.
- Autonomy. The battery is rated for 500 shots, aided by a 1200 mAh capacity. It is completely identical to the energy source of its younger brother.
- Additionally. Among other features, it is worth noting the film simulation mode, that is, the artificial addition of several types of grain, as in retro photos and negatives.
Mirrorless camera Panasonic LUMIX DMC-G7KS
A high-quality mirrorless camera does not have to be expensive, and this is once again proven by the LUMIX DMC-G7KS, which combines balanced characteristics, an ergonomic body and good optics.
- Appearance and control. The camera immediately attracts the eye with its massive body, but this form factor is not accidental. Of course, this is not an action solution, but the device is held confidently in the hand, not without the help of a rather large protrusion-handle. The build quality is excellent, the controls are in place, there is a drive mode dial, as well as a pop-up flash that supports hot swapping. Dimensions of the device: 124.9x86.2x77.4 mm, weight - 410 g when fully equipped.
- Screen and viewfinder. The display uses a 3-inch LCD matrix with large viewing angles. At the same time, the sensor is not afraid of strong pressure. Color rendition is rich but correct, brightness is moderate, but the screen does not fade in the sun. The display can be rotated in two planes, which is convenient for shooting from an upper or lower angle, as well as professional-level selfies. The graphical interface deserves special attention; even an inexperienced user can understand it. The layout of the settings elements is intuitive, there are hints, so the manual will only be needed as a last resort. In addition, there is a 2360k dot OLED color viewfinder that would be the envy of any DSLR camera. The color rendition in it is natural, the viewing angles are one hundred percent. You can duplicate menus and other additional information on the viewfinder. Among the features is an integrated proximity sensor that automatically turns off the main screen.
- Functionality. The device has a 16-megapixel Live-MOS matrix, powered by the Venus Engine 9 processor. There is 49-zone autofocus without phase elements, but object positioning occurs instantly, although at long distances the object can jump. The continuous shooting speed is 6 frames per second, and even in low light the picture is not blurred. This is the case when manual mode is better than automatic, since the latter is very proprietary and minimally uses the camera’s potential. Most users will not have to change the interchangeable lens, since it has a universal focal length that is optimal for macro and landscapes. In reality, it varies from 14 to 42 mm, which corresponds to 25–700 “magazine” millimeters.
- Filming quality and testing. The electronic shutter fires literally in 1/16000 s, allowing you to capture even the flight of a bumblebee. There is support not only for 4K photos, but also for video. The latter is obtained with a resolution of 3840x2160 pixels and FPS at 60 frames per second (bitrate 100 Mbit/s). The maximum photo resolution is 4592x3448 pixels. The photos turn out sharp with saturated colors, one might even say very saturated, but this “problem” can be solved in the settings by selecting the appropriate mode. Intelligent flash control is not provided, but it copes with its direct task perfectly, it’s a pity there is no hot swap.
- Interfaces. The set of interfaces includes HDMI, USB/TV-out, external microphone. It is possible to connect a wired remote control, but it is better to use Wi-Fi and a smartphone. Yes, wireless network support is also present. The camera connects instantly, there are no compatibility problems. The mobile application is implemented for both iOS and Android.
- Autonomy. There is an 8.7 Wh battery, which is enough for 360 shots or 200 photos, ten minutes of 4K video, two minutes of HD video and a dozen two-second bursts in high resolution mode. Not the best, but good result for a mirrorless camera.
- Additionally. The main feature of the model is honest 4K for both photos and videos. No imitations, digital decoders and for very reasonable money.
The TOP 3 best mirrorless cameras of 2017 presented in our review prove that they can match the quality of DSLR competitors, while the user does not need to be a professional photographer, since to become one they only need to set everything up once, switch the mode and press one button. Of course, you won’t get a masterpiece for the exhibition, although this is not excluded, but at the end you will get the latest 4K and a lot of positive emotions. One thing that's sad is the price, but why overpay for something you don't need. For example, Sony Alpha A7 II is already a semi-professional solution for people seeking to get into photography, and the brand itself has had a significant impact on the price tag. Fujifilm X-T20 Kit is the “golden mean” with many settings, an application for professional photos with changing lenses and complicated controls that compensate for the automatic mode.
Thus, the best option for everyone would be the Panasonic LUMIX DMC-G7KS, which fully justifies its cost and allows you to simply take high-quality photographs without the hassles and subtleties of a “bearded” photographer.
Today, devices with the ability to change lenses are in demand among photography fans. It’s easy to get confused in a fairly wide range of popular models, so this article has compiled a rating of the best cameras with interchangeable lenses.
The specificity of these devices is the absence of locking mirrors and an optical viewfinder. The second advantage of these devices, which also distinguishes them from their mirror “relatives”, is their compactness and lightness.
For an ardent photography enthusiast, the practicality of the model is one of the most important factors. In the event that you have to “click” everything in the world, then it’s quite easy to figure out which one is better to buy. In any case, first of all you need to set a budget and find a store where it is profitable to buy the camera you like.
For beginners, devices from different manufacturers do not differ critically in terms of technological characteristics. Reliable cameras are produced by the best manufacturers:
- Canon;
- Fujifilm;
- Olympus;
and less recognized companies
- Panasonic;
- Samsung;
- Sony.
Some brands, the popularity of whose models skyrocketed last year, are today rapidly losing their leading positions. In this regard, few people now buy high-performance Praktica, Kodak or Polaroid cameras. Small cameras from Casio, by the way, are also no longer in demand.
It is difficult to call non-core digital devices from General Electric or Hewlett Packard a successful acquisition. And inexpensive devices from Rekam and other manufacturers can’t even compare with integrated smartphone cameras.
What to expect from affordable models?
What you can expect from gadgets in the mid-price segment: excellent picture and video quality, an accurate digital viewfinder, reprogrammable keys and dials for controlling device parameters. And also a large assortment of lenses for professional photography, covering all important focal distances (from fish eye to superzoom).
The remaining features that are nice to find in the device are image stabilization integrated into the shell (in this case, there is no point in amateur photographers worrying about the presence of stabilization in the lens).
Helpful keys and dials (you can never have enough of them), an integrated Wi-Fi unit for wireless connectivity, and a multi-touch display for easier menu navigation. It would be good if the model had a rotating screen and a fairly practical shell so that it could be carried with you.
Rating of high-quality cameras with interchangeable lenses
For beginners whose needs differ from ordinary users, you need to think about the following. For those who are looking for practicality, but do not want to limit themselves to just one optics, easy-to-use digital cameras with interchangeable lenses are suitable.
If a person likes to “take pictures” from a long distance, then it would be advisable to buy a practical gadget with a wide optical focus range. For a traveler, hunter, and even an ordinary beach lover, an all-season “digital camera” that works in extreme conditions will be a good purchase. This top of the best cameras with interchangeable lenses will help you choose a device for any of the listed purposes.
"10th place: CANON EOS M10 KIT"
The Canon brand has not yet become a leader in the production of mirrorless devices in the premium segment, however, among inexpensive models, this one is worth paying attention to. Small dimensions and ease of use will appeal to amateur photographers. The device will easily take pride of place in a woman’s purse and will not get in the way. What the rotating multi-touch screen makes up for what it lacks in controls.
At the same time, the mirrorless gadget has everything you need to understand the basics of photography, right down to manual configurations of shutter speed, aperture and RAW format. In addition, the model will be a good solution for video shooting at the amateur level. And the ability to change optics will only increase creative ideas and internal potential for professional growth.
Among the shortcomings, buyers highlight an uncomfortable grip, poorly thought out ergonomics and low-quality automatic focusing in poor lighting. But for such a price these errors are easy to forgive. Overall, this model would be a good buy for beginners who want to learn the basics of photography, but are not yet ready to buy large DSLR devices.

"8th place: Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF7"
The GF series of devices is considered one of the most inexpensive from Panasonic. It is aimed at people who have just begun to master photographic skills. Finding a gadget with an interchangeable lens at a budget price is almost impossible, but the Lumix DMC-GF7 is quite economical in the Russian Federation.
The device has a Live-MOS matrix with a maximum resolution of 16 MP. The ISO range ranges from 100 to 25,600. There is no viewfinder, but there is a 3-inch diagonal LCD screen. By the way, the mechanism is rotating, which fans of selfie shots will appreciate.

- There is no viewfinder;
- There are no connectors for connecting an external microphone or headphones;
- The shell gets scratched quickly.
The average price is 26,000 rubles.
"7th place: Panasonic Lumix G5"
The rating of the best continues to be a camera from the Panasonic brand. No more than 4 years ago, the first gadget of this series, the G1 model, saw the light of day. At that time, the capabilities of the device were at a decent level, and the device itself became popular among beginners and advanced photographers.
Interestingly, the G3 was immediately followed by the G5, and the G4 was not released due to superstitious reasons.
This camera is equipped with a Live MOS type matrix, which is made according to the Micro Four Thirds standard. At the same time, the resolution of photographs reaches 4592x3448 px. The camera contains an innovative generation chip such as Venus Engine 7 with Full HD, improved speed and functionality.
The multi-touch screen has also been updated. At the maximum resolution, the camera's shooting speed reaches 6 fps, and various scene modes will become a convenient set of tools for every photographer. Shooting and opening videos is carried out in FHD format with a resolution of 1920x1080 px.
On the Internet there is large number reviews that are dedicated to this model with a removable lens. Buyers pay due attention to its appearance: smooth lines, sophisticated style and a balanced range of colors.
The shape of this model is made according to the owner's requirements. A significant cutout in the upper part makes it possible to comfortably grasp the gadget, and the viewfinder, flash and many mechanical keys bring the device extremely close to the category of SLR devices.
The advantage of the camera is its lightness, amounting to only 396 g, and practical dimensions: 119.9 x 83.2 x 70.8 mm.
According to reviews from owners, the functionality of the model is quite extensive and diverse; there are some disadvantages, but they are not catastrophic.
Panasonic Lumix G5
Advantages:
- Assembly reliability;
- Excellent functionality;
- Wide possibilities for changing the interface;
- Excellent quality of rollers;
- Impressive operating time;
- The system has a wide range of lenses for growth.
Flaws:
- Active noise reduction when shooting in JPG format on standard configuration;
- Low quality optics included;
- Low speed of writing photos to a flash drive.
The average price is 22,000 rubles.
"6th place: Panasonic Lumix DMC-G80"
Quite a large and heavy mirrorless gadget. The weight of 453 grams is determined by the presence of moisture protection. If you use proper optics, then there is no point in worrying about shooting even in a downpour.
Like other system devices from Panasonic, this model is equipped with a 4/3 format matrix. Simply put, it is 2 times smaller than a frame of 35 mm photographic film. Because of this, the sensor is equipped with only 16 MP resolution. But under the shell they allocated space for optical stabilization.
There is a rotating multi-touch screen on the back of the device. By the way, the model is “not afraid” of the bright sun, since it comes with an electronic viewfinder, which consists of 2.36 million pixels.
You can actually make very high-quality videos with this camera, including 4K resolution. The image is displayed in real time on the phone, because the developers also installed a Wi-Fi block.
In serial mode, the gadget “clicks” only 9 shots. But such a series can last for a long time - the limit for RAW is 45, and for JPEG 300 frames. By the way, the camera may not meet the expectations of owners of high-aperture lenses. The fact is that the shutter here opens at 1/4000 s.

First of all, do not forget that Olympus is known for its own lenses (since it is one of the global leaders in the manufacture of endoscopes and microscopes) and waterproof cameras. The company implemented its best projects in this new product, abandoning the production of mirror-type devices.
Despite the fact that the design of the model is extremely similar to the well-known Zenit, its hardware is very innovative and completely non-mirror-like: an electronic viewfinder. The matrix does not have a high number of MP (16.1 million effective), but has a fairly large size (crop factor 2), which gives a good image, even if you use whale optics on a Micro 4/3 connection.
One of the advantages of the gadget is the presence of image stabilization, both software and optical. The model is equipped with a rotating screen, which makes it possible to take stunning shots even from the most awkward positions. Instant autofocus will be useful when shooting offhand, and the forced autofocus option is intuitive - you just need to touch the multi-touch display.
The key disadvantage of the camera is its low-power battery, so you need to buy an additional battery on vacation.
Advantages:
- Effective stabilization makes it possible to take shots with impressive shutter speeds handheld;
- There is Wi-Fi;
- Silent shutter.
Flaws:
- Weak battery;
- Ultra-sensitive face proximity scanner.
The average price is 41,000 rubles.
"4th place: Sony A6000"
This mirrorless device was released, literally “shining with new things” and innovations. The key innovations are a 24 MP scanner and a much more advanced combined autofocus system.
The model is very similar to the sixth and seventh NEX, although it is not made according to the “VIP” standards of the seventh NEX. In any case, this device eliminates doubts about the reliability of assembly and execution at first glance. Yes, it is not the smallest of system-type digital cameras with interchangeable lenses, but it is extremely stylish, practical and convenient.
With the small kit optics that comes in the kit, the user can easily fit the device into a jacket pocket. Like its predecessor devices, this one is equipped with a tilting LCD screen and an electronic viewfinder (EVF) for comfortable framing.
To the delight of fans, the Sony brand was able to achieve significant development in ease of use when compared with the same NEX. There is an innovative and efficient menu system and, finally, the ability to save and activate user parameters.
It's easier to access a couple of important shooting options, including compensation, exposure, and switching between manual and autofocus. In general, semi-professional photographers and photographers with many years of experience will notice that the comfort and ease of use of the new model is now quite comparable to most flagship devices.
Advantages:
- Incredible image quality for a device in this price segment;
- Good picture clarity in JPEG format at low light sensitivity (ISO);
- Low noise at high ISO settings;
- Excellent dynamic range;
- APS-C format scanner with 24 MP resolution;
- ISO range is 100-25600;
- Instant combined automatic focusing Fast Hybrid AF;
- Practical kit optics included (16-50 mm).
Flaws:
- Quite a long start;
- Soft angles when shooting through the included optics in the wide-angle position;
- The shortest focus distance in macro mode is above average;
- Aggressive software color noise reduction by default;
- After noise reduction at high ISOs in JPEG format, some areas of the image look “overly processed”;
- Quite weak integrated flash.
The average price is 50,000 rubles.
"3rd place: PANASONIC LUMIX DMC-GH4 BODY"
This model became the first mirrorless camera that records videos in 4K format. It was published back in 2014, but to this day it occupies a leading position in the ranking of high-quality cameras.
It is worth noting that the advantages of the camera will most likely be appreciated not by photographers, but by videographers. Lots of manual configurations, surprisingly high bitrate and shooting in 4K format. Interchangeable lenses allow you to unleash your creativity and experiment, while innovative electronics ensure high quality. Image detail is comparable to professional video cameras.
PANASONIC LUMIX DMC-GH4 BODY

"1st place: Canon EOS M5"
Of all the mirrorless devices, this gadget is most similar to an analogue of a DSLR device. The appearance is made in the best customs of the Canon brand: smooth folds, no sharp corners, a natural combination of glossy and matte colors. The shape of the device is made according to all the wishes of the photographer; it is comfortable to grasp with one hand.
The multi-touch display of the model makes it possible to switch and designate the focus point, as well as use all the functionality of the main menu. On a multi-touch CMOS display, only a specific area can be used. This option prevents the sensor from being activated accidentally.
The effective resolution is 24.2 MP, which makes it possible to increase the detail of frames to an incredible degree. Shooting speed – 7 fps. The digital format of the videos is MP4, which many experts attributed to the shortcomings of this model, since all innovative cameras this year traditionally record videos in 4K or FHD format.

- Dimensions are larger when compared to the EOS M3 or EOS M10;
- The tilt display is limited in upward movement;
- There is no support for 4K format;
- The device is demanding on the speed capabilities of flash drives.
The average price is 110,000 rubles.
Selection criteria
If a user is ready to invest approximately 66,000 rubles on a mirrorless camera, then image quality most likely plays a significant role for him. Another such person, most likely, worked with manual or semi-automatic shooting mode and is trying to find something that will not limit his creative boundaries and will provide an opportunity to improve his own experience in the art of photography.
If the user is a beginner in the field of photographic art, who is sure that this will later become his passion for for a long time, then 66,000 rubles is not such a large amount to invest in a reliable and wear-resistant device (and optics that last longer than the shell of the camera itself).
The user will appreciate the improved functionality of the viewfinder, special external control components and manual exposure configuration. But if a person is not convinced that he needs it, or simply wants to easily take good shots, then it would be advisable to buy something budget-friendly. For example, a mirrorless camera from the middle price segment or a practical camera costing 33,000 rubles with interchangeable lenses.
