A place for interesting leisure is very easy. There are all kinds of museums, theaters, well-kept parks and magnificent estates, the famous Red Square, the Moscow Zoo and many other famous places.
Some of them have been familiar to citizens and guests of the capital for many years, while some have appeared quite recently. For example, the military-patriotic park “Patriot” (Kubinka), located in the Moscow region, has been operating for only two years. But at the same time, it has already managed to fall in love with its many visitors.
When did Patriot Park open?
Forming love and respect for one’s country, creating the necessary conditions for attracting young people to serve in the Russian Armed Forces, instilling citizenship in people - all these are the main tasks of the Patriot Park in Kubinka. The plan for its creation was born in the head of Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu. It was thanks to him that in the summer of 2014, in honor of the start of construction of the park, a special stone was laid, designed to perpetuate this event.
This huge “Patriot” with an area of 5.5 hectares received its first visitors in the summer of 2015, namely on June 16. And since then it has been a fairly popular place where guests of all ages come.
How to get to Patriot Park
The patriotic park “Patriot” is located in Kubinka, at the 55th kilometer. It’s easy to get here by car: you just need to follow the M-1 highway from Moscow to the desired sign.
You can also get here by train or train departing from the Belorussky railway station. You need to get off at the stop “Kubinka-1” or “Golitsyno” and change to a minibus with a special “Tank Museum” logo.

What to see in "Patriot"
Park "Patriot" in Kubinka is a military-patriotic park of culture and recreation. Here every visitor has the opportunity to see with his own eyes the weapons of various types of troops and their various equipment. The entire territory of the park is divided into special zones, each of which is interesting in its own way.
All available exhibitions and entertainment can be seen below on the schematic plan of the Patriot Park (Kubinka).
Sites No. 1 and No. 2 are undoubtedly of greatest interest to visitors. What's special about them? The open part of the first site presents a variety of examples of domestic armored, aviation, special and armored vehicles that were created both during the USSR and in recent decades. There are also covered pavilions with very interesting exhibitions. On them you can see vintage cars, military and military equipment with all traces of military glory, special historical exhibitions and even a large collection of spacecraft.
Site number 2 is a huge tank museum covering an area of more than 12 hectares. Here is a collection that includes 350 pieces of equipment from 14 different countries. It is very interesting to visit this part of the park on a tour and learn numerous details about each exhibit.
The “Partisan Village” complex gives each guest an idea of how real partisan villages during the Great Patriotic War were built. There are sleeping and headquarters dugouts, ammunition and weapons warehouses, a bathhouse and other facilities. All of them were recreated based on the memories of the participants and surviving photographs of those years.
The “Motoworld” exposition will present to the guests a collection of rare examples of motorcycle equipment. It is worth noting that each of them is in excellent working condition.
There is a huge shooting range on the territory of the park - a Multifunctional firing center with open galleries, each of which is equipped with spectator seats, pyramids for weapons, and spacious shelving. Various practical shooting competitions are organized here. There is also a military shooting range, which is used for training military personnel and soldiers of various special units.
A center for military-tactical games has also been created in the Patriot Park (Kubinka), where members of the Russian Armed Forces can practice various elements of combat training. Also, all kinds of competitions and sporting events can be organized on the territory of this training complex.
How much money to prepare for visitors
Each guest will have to pay to visit the exhibitions of the Patriot Park (Kubinka). However, this pleasure is quite affordable, so do not be afraid of high prices in advance.
Depending on which parts of the complex tourists plan to visit, the ticket price varies. The cheapest one will cost 200 rubles. Such a ticket will only allow you to visit the “Partisan Village” complex or the “Motoworld” exhibition and the military-technical center. For 300 rubles. you can visit site No. 1 of the complex, and for 400 rubles. - only the second one. But after paying only 500 rubles. per person, you can immediately visit the first site and see the “Partisan Village”, and “Motoworld”, and the military-technical center.
At the same time, children who have not yet reached 6 years of age can visit the Patriot Park (Kubinka) absolutely free. And for preferential categories of citizens and children aged 6 to 17 years, any ticket will cost 2 times cheaper.
It is worth noting that you will not have to pay separately for photo and video shooting, since they are already included in the tickets. But you won’t be able to purchase it in advance - all of them are valid only on the day of purchase.
Various events on site
Patriot Park in Kubinka is not just a huge exhibition that anyone can come to. It is also a whole kaleidoscope of all sorts of interesting events, some of which are directly related to combat aspects.
For example, there is a special zone of military-historical reconstruction, where thematic reconstructions of various battles are held several times a year. In addition to people, they involve a large number of aviation units, armored vehicles, cavalry and artillery. Such events are always interesting to spectators, as they recreate the great battles of the Russian people in the smallest detail.
In addition to permanent exhibitions, specialized exhibitions are also periodically opened on the territory of the Patriot Park, one way or another related to wars or military affairs. Also, at numerous sites in the park, various sports competitions and festive events dedicated to public holidays of the Russian Federation are held.
The congress and exhibition center located here hosts important conferences, various meetings and exhibitions of all kinds of modern and promising military models.
Every resident of Moscow and the region must visit Patriot Park at least once. Indeed, in addition to simply inspecting various equipment, here everyone will be able to feel the power of our state and once again remember how our ancestors defended us during the difficult war years.
The exhibition complex Park Patriot in Kubinka, Moscow Region, covers an area of almost five hectares and consists of nearly a dozen separate objects. How not to get lost in Patriot Park and not miss anything interesting - read this article. (Information updated as of September 10, 2018).
Dear readers!
In September, the exhibition was once again updated in the Park. Separate large reviews can be made on the updates, but for now, briefly about the most important changes for those who will go to Patriot in the near future.
- The tanks from the Patriot-Expo complex were transported to an open area in Museum Complex 1.
- The second part of the exhibition of trophies from Syria has opened in Museum Complex 1. There are a lot of armored vehicles in the open area and a whole pavilion of smaller trophies. It is marked on the map with a red mark with a star.
- In the “Echoes of War” hall in Museum Complex 1 there is now an exhibition dedicated to the defeat of Japan. There are a lot of Japanese armored vehicles, weapons, banners, etc. On the opposite side is USSR equipment, including Lend-Lease.
- The armored car moved to the partisan village. A wooden “station” was built next to it and several tanks and guns, mostly from the war, were placed.
How to get to Patriot Park.
Patriot Park has two seasonal operating modes (summer and winter) and two weekly ones (weekdays and weekends/holidays). They differ in the time when the park is open, but in any case it is from 10.00 to 17.00. How to get to Patriot by car is described in detail on the website ( patriotp.ru) , and I’ll tell you how to get there on your own. The website states that on weekdays and on holidays a minibus runs from Golitsyno station every hour. Yeah, of course. I arrived in Golitsyno on November 6 (a weekday) at the beginning of nine in the morning - no minibuses, not even a hint of their stop.
Maybe things are different on weekends, but there’s not a word about that on the park’s website. In general, I waited until 9.30 (two minibuses were supposed to depart according to the website schedule) and as a result I left by taxi, fortunately they were at the station square. The price was 500 rubles one way, and the driver also gave me his business card in case I needed to take me back. As a result, I spent 1000 rubles on travel plus 500 for entry to the exhibition. If you are ready for such expenses, welcome to Patriot Park on a weekday; taxis in Golitsyno work great.
First steps: from parking to ticket office.
The parking lot (blue mark P) is, without exaggeration, huge, so I advise you to leave your car as close to the barrier as possible in order to avoid stomping your feet. They will also be useful to you when exploring the park's facilities.
Take a look at the map. The red line marks the path to the ticket office, located at the beginning of the VIP parking. It was here that it was moved from the entrance terminal to the central exhibition complex (marker 7). You can buy tickets here, but you won’t be able to leave your belongings in a storage room or visit the toilet. There are toilet stalls nearby, but they are only open in the summer. During the winter, all outdoor toilets are closed, only those in the pavilions are open!
Exhibition complex Patriot-Expo.
In five minutes from the ticket office you can walk to the territory of the Patriot-Expo exhibition complex (dark gray fill, blue mark 7).
During the days of the Army forum there is no place to fall, and the rest of the time there is not so much equipment.
Here you can see modern artillery, both self-propelled and towed,
multiple launch rocket systems.
A year ago, several vehicles from the Topol-M strategic missile system stood here, but in the fall they were moved to site No. 1. It is possible that the launcher will soon go there too.
There are also anti-aircraft missile systems, a dozen post-war tanks,
four helicopters and an An-2 plane.
There are also monuments to Marshals Zhukov, Konev and Rokossovsky.
In 2016, there was also a monument to the heroes of the film “They Fought for the Motherland.” Later it was moved to the building of the Ministry of Defense.
Yes, and in 2017 another group of special forces appeared with a motorcycle M-72 . Alas, in the rain and in the winter the motorcycle is covered with a cover, and you won’t be able to take a photo next to it.
Also pay attention to the benches for rest. Some of them are made in the form of sea mines, some in the form of tank tracks.
Museum site No. 1.
This is where the technology is visible and invisible, it is in the Museum complex No. 1 (former videoconferencing sector). You can get there by free local minibus. It leaves every 15-20 minutes from the ticket office (blue mark with the number 1) both on holidays and on weekdays - I checked it personally. The route diagram is marked on the map with a thin blue line. Patriot Park also offers bicycle rentals in the summer. however, if your goal is not to ride in the fresh air, but to see the equipment, it is better to use a minibus.
On the way to the first complex, pay attention to the sculpture of a military skier.
And here we are at our goal. The stop at the complex is marked with blue mark 2. The exhibition here is presented both in pavilions and in the open area. There are 12 pavilions in total; on the map they are indicated by a polygon with a yellow fill.
――――――――
Each pavilion is dedicated to a separate topic: Space Forces, Atom in the Service of the Motherland, History of the Airborne Forces, Stalingrad, etc. They display some of the vehicles from the Museum of Armored Vehicles in Kubinka and the Ryazan Military Automobile Museum. All pavilions are interconnected by internal passages, and in the warm season they have access to an open area.
For complete reviews of equipment in the open area, see (armored vehicles, cars) and (aviation, navy, missiles).
The open area is huge in size and has a large amount of equipment displayed here. However, there is also a lot of free space here, and Patriot Park is constantly adding to this exhibition. From September to November, for example, new tankers and systems with drones were brought here. For ease of orientation, I have designated areas with different types of equipment using colored shading.
――――――――
Orange fill - anti-aircraft and strategic missiles, radar.
Green fill – armored vehicles, engineering and transport vehicles.
Pink fill - fuel tankers, logistics vehicles.
Brown shading - signal troops.
Mustard fill - intercontinental ballistic missiles.
Light gray fill - drones.
Blue fill - Navy. Mines, torpedoes, artillery, Poisk-2 deep-sea vehicle, coast guard missile systems.
Blue zone - aviation: airplanes and helicopters.
The benches in this area are also made in an aviation style.
Very close by is the exhibition “Motors of War” with a separate entrance. It is dedicated to equipment from the Second World War, indicated on the map by a red rectangle.
Armored car.
The minibus stop number 3 is called “Bronevagon” (lilac fill).
Naturally, the main exhibit here is the same armored car from the war. In the summer, you can even go inside and see what it was like to fight in such a place.
In addition to the armored car, there is a military train at the railway platform: a steam locomotive, a heated carriage and a couple of platforms with anti-aircraft guns.
In the pavilion next door there is an exhibition “Motoworld”, where rare motorcycles of the 20th century are presented. On the map it is indicated by a dark green rectangle.
Center for military tactical games.
Stop number 4 is located next to several interesting sites. A yellow rectangle with a brown outline is pavilions for interactive games.
One of the zones is called the “Afghan Trail”, here you can play war games with pneumatic guns with plastic cartridge balls. For decoration, real military equipment was used: cars, guns, a helicopter.
For a complete overview of the equipment on the Afghan Trail, see.
Lilac fill with a red outline - “Signalers Camp” and “Scout Town”. Here you can see about a dozen communications troops vehicles and mobile power plants. I took pictures here at the end of August, when the exhibition was just being assembled. Judging by the pictures on the Patriot Park website, by the end of October the cars were painted and information signs were installed on each one.
For a full overview of the equipment in the signalmen's town, see.
Opposite the entrance to the pavilions there is a small alley. On it you can see Mi-8 and Mi-24 helicopters, an An-24 aircraft and a monument to General Brusilov.
Youth Army sector and Partisan village.
Near stop number 5 there is the Yunarmiya sector and the Guerrilla Village exhibition complex. One of the pavilions houses a unique exhibition dedicated to the military operation in Syria (yellow fill with a lilac outline).
See the full photo review of the Syrian exhibition.
A model of the military base in Khmeimim, models of Russian aircraft, but the main thing is the trophies captured from the militants. Homemade mortars and ammunition, machine guns and rifles from all times and peoples, equipment for the artisanal production of chemical weapons - all this can be seen here.
In the “Partisan Village” (blue fill with a blue outline) you can see the construction of different types of wartime dugouts, see original items of partisan life, and taste linden tea.
And in the “Partisan Village” they bake amazing bread, real bread, without additives. If you want and don’t mind spending 150 rubles, you can buy a loaf and take it with you.
Parked on the street next to the Youth Army pavilions was a Khokhloma-painted tank and Gzhel-painted guns.
Opposite there is a monument to the heroes of the film “Officers”.
A little closer to the “Partisan Village” are real BTR-40s and an S-60 anti-aircraft gun.
Directly at the entrance to the partisans there are Soviet BM-37 mortars and a German PAK 35-36 cannon.
A huge field nearby is a zone of historical reconstructions. On it you can see a model of the Reichstag, which was involved in the reconstruction of the “Storm of Berlin” on April 23, 2017.
And here there is also the Church of the Holy Great Martyr George the Victorious, built for the glory of the Russian army and in memory of those who fell in defense of the Fatherland.
Multifunctional fire center.
Stop number 6 is the final point of the route. There is a multifunctional fire center where you can shoot with different types of weapons. To be honest, I didn’t get here, but in the summer I’m going to correct this omission.
To conclude the review, I would like to give some general and, in my opinion, useful advice.
- During winter, outdoor toilet stalls are closed. Only the toilets in the pavilions work, and they are not located very often.
- Fast food outlets and cafes are open only in summer. The rest of the time you have to make do with water and Snickers from the vending machines.
- Drinks in glass bottles will not be allowed into Patriot Park. And they won’t let you bring alcohol in any container at all.
- If you don’t get to the park by car, take extra money for a taxi. You never know what will happen to the bus.
- Is it possible to visit Patriot Park and not take away anything as a souvenir? Tanks, airplanes, caps... If you are going with a child, adjust your budget to a plus. And if you yourself are like a child, even more so.
- And again about money. Cards are not popular here, and ATMs are difficult to find. Cash will come in handy.
Well, that's it for the first time. In the future, I will publish a detailed review of each sector, but now I say “Goodbye!” to everyone.
