Changes in performance characteristics of VK 72.01
VK 72.01 in World of Tanks is a German super-heavy class tank, the successor to VK 70.01 with improved armor, was developed by the Kruppe concern and also received improved weapons, it is also compared with the Soviet IS-7 and IS-4, the armor ball is 160 mm, but the turret itself , unlike the IS-7, has bends at irrational angles. It also differs from its younger brother in its higher speed of aiming the turret and reloading 18.5 s, when fully equipped. Despite its large dimensions of 120 tons, the tank is relatively maneuverable and reaches 40 km/h; its ammunition load is less than that of the 70th version (24 rounds). The disadvantages of the tank are its high profile, which makes it an easy target for artillery, for example, on the Sand River maps. The tank received the title of “elite” due to the ability to transfer a crew from any German TT tank to it.
This tank will receive increased firepower (for example, increased damage per minute) comparable to the E100. Another important update for VK 72.01 K owners is the improvement in armor from 235 to 246 mm. Some indicators are not yet the latest before the update is released, for example, such as increased armor on the frontal projection.
Changes in performance characteristics of E100
E-class tanks began to be developed in the early 40s by the Reich Ministry of Armaments. The engineer Mr. Kniepkamp gave the task to several companies that had not previously dealt with tanks to develop a new concept of a super-heavy tank, they received the name Panzerkampfwagen E-100. The main focus was to create a tank that would be invisible in heavy battles, but at the same time it could carry large amounts of ammunition. Because of this, compared to its predecessors, the model range of tanks underwent changes in design; it was decided to abandon the torsion bar suspension. The drive wheels were located at the rear of the car to increase space inside the cabin. The engineers also wanted to create a new type of sights, but during the research they had to abandon the development.
The model available in the game is Pz.Kpfw.E-100, Great 383) 383 is a premium level 10 tank model, weighing 140 tons.
Changes in performance characteristics of MAUS
The history of the Mouses dates back to 1942. Hitler demanded the creation of a car with very powerful armor. Several concerns were involved in the development of individual parts of the tank, including the well-known company Siemens, which developed the transmission. The main developer, Ferdinard Porsche, showed a couple of prototypes in 1944, but on Hitler's orders, mass production of the tanks was stopped because Germany did not have enough resources to develop other types of weapons.
In the game, the tank is available after reaching level ten. Has the best armor in its class. Its weapon has very high one-time damage, good accuracy and resistance to penetration. The only negative is, perhaps, a long reload time and low mobility, which makes it an easy target for self-propelled guns and artillery.
Changes in the performance characteristics of Panther II
In 1942, German engineers decided to develop an improved model of the popular Panther tank, primarily changes related to armor capacity. Development was carried out in parallel with the second version of the Tiger and it was decided that the Panther would be the same Tiger only larger in size. The second version received an improved chassis, surveillance devices, and propulsion system. The armor thickness also increased from 60 to 100 mm. The Shmalturm tower had internal telescopic rangefinders and infrared devices. The increase in equipment entailed an increase in the dimensions of the machine to 47 tons. Production began in 1945 with some changes to the air defense turret.
In the game, the tank received level 8 and can be used as additional support for allies on the second line. It has a good rate of fire and good maneuvers, but has weak armor and a tall silhouette, so it can also be a target for self-propelled guns.
In 2017, a new balance system will be introduced, after its introduction the balance of forces on the battlefield will significantly change. Some tanks will become better, and some will be nerfed. World of Tanks in development

We promised to make changes to the list of existing equipment so that it corresponds to the current realities of the game and can offer players something new. We decided not to put this matter off and started working in the first update of the new 2017.
The changes will start with the Germany research tree. As you know, it has grown significantly since the game was released. As a result, today the structure of the German tree is quite complex: in one leveling branch there can be cars that have significant game differences. In the next update, we will rework the German leveling branch: we will make balance changes to a number of vehicles, and also add three new heavy tanks.
Let's talk about this in more detail.
Heavy tanks
At the moment, the path to researching the most famous “heavy” is long and confusing. Gameplay on tanks VK 45.02 (P) Ausf. A and VK 45.02 (P) Ausf. B. differs significantly from Mouse gameplay. In update 9.17.1, we will move Mouse to a new branch: new Tier VIII and IX vehicles will appear in it, and leveling will be available through Tiger P. For players who have already researched Mouse, new vehicles will be immediately available for purchase , without having to explore them. And rest assured: these newcomers will prove that they have earned their place in the heavy tank tree. Slow but well armored, they will pose a significant threat on the battlefield. Secondly, in order to maintain the consistency of changes in the branch, we will increase the combat characteristics of the Mouse itself. Frontal armor will be increased and hull armor will be improved. The characteristics of the gun will also change: the reload time will decrease (from 14.9 to 12 seconds) and stabilization will improve, which will make it one of the best in the game. Now this giant will receive decent firepower. The strength of this vehicle will also increase: “Mouse” will receive a record 3200 strength points!
Many players asked to keep the VK 72.01(K) tank as a unique reward for participating in clan battles. So be it. Players' favorite VK 45.02 (P) Ausf. B and its predecessor VK 45.02 (P) Ausf. A will be separated into a separate branch, which will open the research of a new vehicle - Pz.Kpfw VII.
Next to VK 45.02 (P) Ausf. The Pz.Kpfw VII tank will receive a 12.8 cm Kw gun. K. 46 L/61; as a result, the game will be significantly different from VK 72.01 (K). The changes will also affect the VK 72.01 (K) tank: the stabilization of the gun will be improved, the penetration of the Pzgr. shell will be increased. 42 (for the 15 cm Kw. K. L/38 gun), and the ammunition storage capacity was increased (35 shells). In addition, the frontal armor of the VK 72.01(K) and Pz.Kpfw VII tanks will also be significantly increased. To maintain a balance in combat effectiveness, we will reduce the maximum speed from 43 to 33 km/h.
There is news for fans of E 100 research: this branch will also undergo several significant changes. The E 75 tank will receive improved gun stabilization, and fans of battles with the E 100 will receive a long-awaited increase in the penetration of armor-piercing shells. In update 9.17.1, the penetration of a 150 mm gun will be increased to 246 mm. Finally, at earlier levels the gun mantlet armor of the Tiger (P) and Tiger I tanks will be increased, allowing players to "tank" away from the turret.
Medium tanks
After analyzing the combat statistics of medium tanks, we decided to improve the stabilization of some guns and slightly increase vehicle mobility. The E 50 and Leopard Prototyp A tanks will receive significant improvements:
- As you know, the large size of the Leopard Prototyp A tank, as well as the insufficient elevation angles of its gun, often make it an easy target on the battlefield. To improve its effectiveness on uneven areas of the map, we have improved the vertical aiming angles of its gun to -8° (instead of the current value of -6°).
- The alternative 8.8 L/100 gun will receive significant improvements: higher accuracy, reload speed and gun stabilization. Moreover, with the release of update 9.17.1, this weapon will also be added to the Panther II tank.
- Top German medium tank E 50 Ausf. M will receive increased armor in the lower part of the frontal projection: from 100 to 120 mm.
Tank destroyer
Initially, Grille 15 was conceived as a tank destroyer for ambush fire. Now the playing style of this vehicle is more reminiscent of a medium tank. The performance characteristics of the Grille 15 will be changed so that it fires from an ambush: we will review the characteristics of its gun and install a less powerful engine. We will also reduce the reverse speed.
Premium technology
In update 9.17.1 we will make a number of changes that will increase the combat effectiveness of premium vehicles and make them more interesting for players.
Krupp-Steyr Waffenträger

This very powerful vehicle with incredibly strong frontal armor is ideal not only for holding back a massive enemy onslaught, but also for breaking through their defenses.
What about Maus? Now it crowns the new branch of heavy tanks and follows two other newcomers: VK 100.01 P VIII level and Mäuschen Level IX. The VK's frontal armor is strong enough to withstand the onslaught of Tier X vehicle guns, but don't let your opponent attack you on the sides. And Mäuschen, which has a lot in common with Maus, although slow, will bring you an impressive bonus to experience.
If you have already researched Maus by the time the update is released, the required module packages VK 100.01 P and Mäuschen will be researched automatically.
New cards
The “Industrial Zone” is a real labyrinth of construction equipment and factory buildings. Be aware that this map provides a great advantage: enemy artillery shells can be dodged by using overhanging pipelines. You can also try out the new Redshire 1944 map, an alternate version of the original Redshire with an additional castle area.

Had a fantastic battle and want to watch it again? Or would you like to record a video of an epic battle? You can now view your last five battles as game replays. In addition to this, you have the opportunity to pause the battle recording, start it again, rewind or change camera views. Rest assured: you won't miss a single tense moment of the battle!
You can view recordings of the last five battles starting from the current gaming session. They will be lost if you completely exit the game or close it.
How to view fight recordings
When the battle is over, look for the “View Battle Record” icon on the personal battle results screen. Use the left stick to highlight an option and press A/X to load the battle recording, or B/O to cancel loading and return to the last screen. If you are in a team or platoon training room, you will be asked to leave to continue downloading the battle recording.
You can also find battle records in the Journal menu. Highlight the battle you want to watch and press A/X to load.
To exit a battle recording that is playing, press the Menu/Options button to stop viewing and select Return to Hangar.
Fight recording management
Use the fight replay control panel to pause, play, fast forward or rewind 30 seconds, adjust playback speed, or skip to the beginning of the replay. Press Up on the D-pad to open the control panel and Down to close it.
Camera types
The default camera view is the combat vehicle camera, with a full dashboard and information that the player you are watching sees in battle. Use the triggers (LT/RT; L2/R2) to switch between players and the right stick to control the camera.
Free camera allows you to view the battlefield from different angles. If you get close to the tank, you can activate follow mode so that the camera follows the vehicle.
The positional camera focuses on the terrain - you can only change the direction in which you are looking.
