My own successful weight loss experience
All my adult life I had a body size of 46 clothes. As I approached retirement age, I began to gain weight. At first I even liked it, I felt like a respectable lady. Gradually I switched to size 48 clothes, then size 50. When I noticed that when trying on a suit or coat, I began to look at things that were size 52, taking into account the fact that I could gain more weight, that is, grow, I realized that it was time to stop increasing my size. My husband gained weight much earlier than me, and has already somehow gotten used to it. The work for both of us, and especially for him, was sedentary, mostly sedentary. As a result of being overweight, my husband suffered from high blood pressure. The doctor prescribed him medications and warned him that he must take them for the rest of his life.
Having assessed the current situation, we decided on the need to lose weight. We immediately rejected various fashionable diets for quick weight loss and fasting courses as unacceptable to us. The decision was made lose weight easily, slowly, without dieting, fasting and suffering, without harming your health and mood. Of course, it was necessary to show some willpower and properly organize your diet.

When getting ready for work, at 7 o’clock in the morning you still don’t want to have breakfast, especially a big one. For this reason, many people simply drink coffee with a sandwich in the morning. In the evening after work we come home late, and this is where the real food begins, that is, a full lunch. In relation to the daily routine, which is impossible to change for a working person, our daily nutrition during the cold season of the year, which we have developed for ourselves, can be imagined something like this.
Breakfast
A cup of coffee with a piece of cheese weighing approximately 30-40 grams, without bread. We always put sugar in a cup before, and now too, 1 teaspoon.
Dinner
At work in the canteen - the usual table portion: meat with mashed potatoes, or fried potatoes, or buckwheat porridge, or (best of all) with stewed cabbage, a saucer of cabbage or beet salad, without bread.
During the working day at the workplace
Twice tea or coffee without sugar, but with candy so that there is something to bite. You can also take an apple or two from home with you.
Dinner at home
It would be more correct to say a full lunch:
- first and second courses in half portions, a piece of bread (full section of the loaf).
- For the third, jelly or tea.
For "after dinner"
- No sandwiches!
- A glass of low-fat kefir or fermented baked milk, fruit.

In the warm season, especially in summer, we used cucumber and tomato salads instead of a side dish, and often vinaigrette instead of a meat main course.
Sometimes, instead of meat soup, I cooked very tasty vegetable soups from zucchini, pumpkin or fresh cucumbers. In the fall, as a side dish, instead of high-calorie potatoes, I prepared a vegetable stew of zucchini, pumpkin, carrots, onions, bell peppers with spicy seasonings and garlic. You can also make carrot cutlets with green peas or cheesecakes from low-fat cottage cheese with apples. Try to eat less potatoes, and more carrots, pumpkin and zucchini. You can eat pasta only as a last resort, if you really don’t have time, but be sure to eat half a portion. It is very good to use stewed cabbage, fresh or pickled, as a side dish. There are few calories, but still a hot second course. Eat only natural meat, cutlets, fish. Do not eat sausages and frankfurters, they contain many different additives, including starch. Try to drink plain water several times a day, in addition to tea and coffee. It is very important. If you want to eat, drink water!
Serve the finished dish beautifully on a plate and eat with pleasure, slowly, without rushing, as a feeling of fullness appears in the body after about 15-20 minutes.
I must say that you get used to this kind of food quite quickly, and when employees at work drink tea with pies and sandwiches, it doesn’t bother them at all.
Daily morning monitoring of your weight makes it possible to assess what you can afford for the current day. If the weight decreases at least a little, it means that the process is going correctly, we continue eating in the same spirit. If the weight does not decrease, it means that the portions are too large.
Of course, when switching to a weight loss regimen, you cannot completely deny yourself all the joys of life, since one of our rules is to maintain a good mood. Therefore, participation in festive feasts with relatives, friends and neighbors in the country is not excluded. The main rule at the holiday table, when you want to try everything delicious, is to serve half a portion! Here you can already afford to eat a cake and a piece of pie.
The next morning, or even better every other day, look at the weighing result. You may have to arrange a fasting day for yourself. It is not hard. During the day, you can eat apples and drink low-fat kefir in any quantity. You can still drink tea and coffee as a snack with candy, candied fruits or walnuts.
The next day you can continue to eat as usual.
Don't expect quick results and instant weight loss. The process will take place gradually over a year or a year and a half. When the desired weight is reached, you can sometimes add something extra to your usual diet. In this case, daily morning weight control will indicate these possibilities.
After my husband lost five kilograms, his blood pressure returned to normal.
