Alushta in autumn
Autumn in Alushta is quite a warm time. But it would be more correct to say that it begins quite late. The first half of the season promotes active beach holidays already at more moderate temperatures. Although it is possible that one week in September could suddenly become cold. However, after that the weather “evens out”. Such weather conditions can be explained by the fact that the sea, which has absorbed a lot of heat over the summer, now maintains the air temperature, and the mountain spurs surrounding Alushta protect it from cold winds. After October 16-18, temperatures usually drop. In autumn, foreigners come to Alushta. They come here to hunt. In the area of Big Alushta, which in addition to the city includes a number of adjacent villages, there are several hunting grounds. Such entertainment, even taking into account the cost of travel, costs them very little.
The height of winter in Alushta is more reminiscent of deep autumn. The number of frosty days for the entire year does not exceed 30-35. Such climatic conditions are formed due to the fact that the city is reliably protected by the crest of the Main Crimean Ridge. Cold air masses rarely penetrate here, but the non-freezing Black Sea reminds of summer all year round. Snow falls extremely rarely in Alushta and does not last long. The amount of heat per unit of land surface in Alushta is 8-10 times greater than that of St. Petersburg. However, winter in Alushta is a little felt due to constant weather vagaries. Clear sunny days are abruptly replaced by cloudy, rainy weeks. Following the snow and frost comes a streak of spring-like warm and sunny days. Such is the winter in Alushta.

There are on average no more than 50 cloudy days per year. Such favorable weather conditions greatly contribute to Alushta as a resort region. The famous doctor S.P. Botkin, of all the Crimean resorts, recommended Alushta as a place for relaxation and recovery.

Each season has its pros and cons. As for choosing a time to relax in Alushta, it is very individual. But in fairness it must be said that Alushta attracts vacationers all year round. But you will get great pleasure from walking by the sea, enjoying the extraordinary air, saturated with aerosols.
Deserves a separate discussion holiday in Alushta in winter. Snow is a rare guest here. But even if it falls out, it does not lie there for very long. The reason is that Alushta is under the peculiar protection of the crest of the Crimean mountain range, so cold streams rarely penetrate the coast, but the warm, non-freezing sea constantly reminds itself. Here you can sunbathe and get a winter tan. In general, winter in Alushta is more reminiscent of late autumn.

Therefore, prices for accommodation and services are reduced. In addition, people in Alushta’s sanatoriums and boarding houses are much freer, so you can undergo diagnostics and treatment by receiving recommendations from the resort’s best medical specialists.
In winter, inexpensive bases in Alushta accommodate athletes from the Olympic teams of Ukraine, Russia, Moldova, and Latvia in various sports. Here they conduct training camps throughout the winter.
