Far Harbor - is the third official addition to the game Fallout 4. Far Harbor can be translated into Russian as “Far Harbor“, this addition pleased the players with its excellent plot, many quests, new location and other pleasant surprises from the developers. Addition Far harbor was published on May 19, 2016.
The article turned out to be simply huge, like the addition itself, so for convenience, use summary :
For some readers, it’s probably worth saying what it is DLC. This abbreviation stands for Downloadable Legal Content, that is, this is official content from the developers, roughly speaking, a continuation or addition to the game. It may or may not be paid.
Description of DLC Far Harbor
If some players, after the release of the first two dlcs for Fallout 4, had grievances towards the Arbor, then after the release of Far Harbor all these grievances instantly transformed into admiration. It was in Far Harbor that the developers outdid themselves; many say that this add-on can be released as a full-fledged game, it is so huge.
Far Harbor Plot
In addition Far Harbor, The main character will have to work as a detective, because a man will come to Nick Valentine's detective agency and ask him to find his missing daughter. It was by taking up this matter that main character and opens the Far Harbor storyline.
Already at the very beginning of the search, the main character learns that the girl she is looking for has gone north, to the city of Far Harbor, located on the island, in search of a mysterious colony of synths, to which she also considers herself, despite her parents’ assurances that she is a human.
The main character will have to follow her to this city of Far Harbor, and there the main character will find himself in the center of a brewing conflict between residents, synths and fanatics of the Children of the Atom church. What way out will the main character find? To whom from warring parties will have to cease to exist? Is it possible to resolve the conflict peacefully? It is these questions that our main character will help answer during the passage storyline Far Harbor additions.
Main locations in the Far Harbor DLC
- Azalea - this location can be found in the eastern part of the island, it is a container ship that has run aground, on which a gang of trappers lives. Many in the city have thoughts that the metal from this container ship can be used for the needs of the city, so the main character may be sent there on a mission;
- Acadia - this location is a secret colony of synths, which was found by the runaway girl Kasumi. The colony itself is located on the mountain, in the observatory building;
- Cinema "Paradise Bush" - this location is an ordinary cinema under open air, it is interesting only because a lot of ghouls watch the movie in it;
- Grand Harbor Hotel - to Great War All the tourists who came to the island stayed in this hotel. After the war, the hotel was chosen by super mutants and now they live there, and there are a lot of them living there;
- Cranberry Island is a very interesting location that is worth exploring thoroughly; apparently, not all the secrets of this location are this moment revealed. This location is interesting because it is where Eliza lives. It is the same Eliza, parts of whose diary are scattered throughout the island;
- The core is an important location for the game's storyline. The core is a former submarine base, which the Children of the Atom community turned into their base;
- Island of the Red Death - this location is interesting only during the side quest “The Great Hunt”, because it is on this island that you can find the Red Marshman, a new, dangerously deadly creature;
- Vault 118 is an interesting location with a lot of strong robots, it’s worth going to see the layout and interior of the shelter;
- Lemonade factory "Vim!" — there are a lot of super mutants in this location, they themselves, without knowing it, are natural protection for a secret laboratory;
- DiMA cache - important for story passage The game location is located in the west of the island and is a small island in the lake where DiM hid the code for the wind turbine;
New weapons
- Harpoon launcher- a heavy cannon that fires harpoons. A reload is required after each shot, and each hit causes the target to bleed. In terms of damage, the harpoon launcher can be compared to a Gaus rifle. It is very popular, so it is not difficult to find it on the island;
- meat hook- bladed weapons, used by many bandits on the island;
- Radium carbine - unique weapons that can only be found on the island. It is a carbine converted to chamber 45 and fires radioactive ammunition, resulting in double damage from the bullet and from radiation. It has wide use on the island;
- Reaper- this weapon is a type of ripper, of this weapon has the ability to stun the enemy. Damage and other characteristics are not particularly impressive;
- Striker— probably this weapon is more for fun, because Striker is a Fat Man that can be loaded with bowling balls. You can find this gun in the bowling center;
- Atomic justice - a unique hammer with amazing characteristics, just imagine, Atomic Justice deals 240 points of damage and, as a bonus, takes away another 400 points of damage from the target using radiation. You can get it after successfully completing the side quest “The Heretic” for the Children of Atom;
- Child of December- this is the usual assault rifle, converted to the 5.56 cartridge; in addition, this rifle has increased the rate of fire by 1/4 and reduced the reload time. You can find it at the Vim Lemonade Factory;
New mutants and creatures
IN DLC Far Harbor, the developers have worked hard and provided many new creatures, read about the most interesting of them below:
- Bloodthirsty Swamper - the same as a regular swamp, only a little stronger;
- Red Death- a unique and very dangerous swamper, his very appearance inspires horror, there are even legends that this swamper sank ships passing by his island. This is a very serious opponent;
- Wolf- hefty and dangerous creatures, still resembling their ancestors in appearance;
- bear— surprisingly, it’s not even a mutant, but ordinary sulfur A wolf that has been tamed by super mutants, this wolf can be bought and placed in any of your settlements. The bear gives +8 to the defense of the settlement;
- Gracie— just like the Bear, it can be purchased to protect a settlement, bringing +10 to the defense of the settlement;
- Deepthroat— a wild creature, a huge mutated salamander, can attack from trees, or maybe from under water;
- Radrabbit- this mutant looks like an ordinary rabbit with lichen;
- Rad chicken- a funny mutant, in appearance it is an ordinary chicken that is missing all its feathers. She doesn't know how to attack, so she simply runs away from the main character;
- Rad deer— the developers were clearly inspired to create this mutant by the Brahmin, just like the rad deer has 2 heads, each of which has antlers;
- Fog“It’s better to see this creature once than to talk about it a hundred times.” This mutant probably turned out to be due to a mutation of an ordinary crab, only at the end, besides the many limbs, it is difficult to understand what is there from the crab;
- Anglerfish- a terrible creature that lives near swamps and ponds. Looks like a victim vicious relationship toads and monkfish.
Main quests in Far Harbor
- Quest “Far from Home” — during this quest, the main character, along with Nick Valentine, take on the mysterious case of fisherman Kenji Nakano. The fact is that his daughter Kasumi has disappeared and concerned parents are asking to find her. Having begun the investigation, it becomes clear to the detectives that Kasumi went to the distant city of Far Harbor in search of some kind of secret colony of synths. The fact is that Kasumi believes that she is also a synth, although her parents claim the opposite. Detectives must go to this city, which is located in the north, on big island and try to find Kasumi;
- Quest “A Walk in the Park” - the father of the missing girl, takes the main character on his boat to the island. Upon arrival, they are met by the leaders of the city, they are greeted unkindly, but a sudden attack by raiders helps, the mayor of the city asks for help repelling this attack, in return he will answer all the questions of the protagonist;
- Quest “Find your place” — the main character actually finds a colony of synths called Acadia. Once in the colony, he meets with its leader, a synth named DiMA. In the conversation, he confirms that Kasumi is with them and she is fine, the main character is even allowed to meet with her. Upon meeting, Kasumi excitedly tells the main character that she really turned out to be a synth and that Acadia has many secrets, which she offers to reveal to our detective. One of these secrets is that the synths gave the Children of Atom a submarine base, which became the base of the Children of Atom, and along with the base they received part of DiMA's memories. As a result, Kasumi decides to stay in Acadia to reveal all their secrets, and the main character promises to help her with this.
- Quest “It’s better not to remember” — in this quest, the main character gets to know the Children of the Atom better by visiting their “Core” base. At the base, our protagonist will gain access to DiMA's memories and learn many of his secrets, which we need to learn more about by going to the indicated locations. This quest is quite large and contains many puzzles and dangerous enemies;
- Quest “What life should be like”
- in this quest we will find out terrible secret DiMA, for this we will need to find an unmarked grave, in it you will find the body of Avery, and that Avery who met the main character on the pier. It turns out that in order for the townspeople to be more loyal to synths, they needed someone among the people who would treat synths demonstrably well. To do this, DiMA introduced his agent into the townspeople, he killed Avery and replaced her with a synth. Having learned this, the main character must decide what to do next:
- Blame DiMA;
- Tell everything to the city residents;
- Talk to Kasumi;
- Quest “Cleansing the Earth” — during this quest, the main character can destroy the base of the children of Atom using the surviving missiles;
- Quest "Reformation" - during this quest, the main character, with the help of DiMA, must replace the head of the Children of Atom with his synth double, this will protect the inhabitants of the island and Acadia from the Children of Atom;
- Quest “Family Affair” - is the final quest of the Far Harbor add-on. As the storyline progresses, Kasumi may die, but she may also survive. In the first case, we tell this sad news to our parents, and in the second, we persuade Kasumi to return home and at the family reunion it is better to keep silent about the fact that Kasumi is a synth. All that remains is to collect the reward.
Possible storyline endings
As mentioned above, the main character finds himself in the center of a conflict between synths, townspeople and fanatics; you can get out of this situation in different ways, for example:
- Good ending- Having learned that DiMA replaced Avery among the townspeople, we agree to do the same with the head of the Children of Atom, then the townspeople, synths and fanatics will live in peace, essentially controlled by synths;
- Evil ending 1- first we destroy the Core base, launching missiles from it, after that we tell the townspeople about the synths and how they replaced their leader, the townspeople are furious and go to destroy Acadia. After the destruction of Acadia, the windmills can be turned off and the fog will destroy the townspeople;
- Evil ending 2- again, we’ll start by destroying the fanatics, after that, with the help of synths, we’ll destroy the inhabitants of the city, and upon returning to the territory of the Commonwealth, we’ll tell about Acadia or the Brotherhood of Steel or the Institute, they will finish the dirty deed for us;
Created virtual world Far Harbor pleases us with a variety of monsters and creatures. Now to fight enemies you will need more power and wit. In the add-on, new types of guns and barrels have been created, which can either be purchased from merchants, or received as a reward when completing a task. This article describes the location, cost and some combat characteristics unique new weapon in Fallout 4 far harbor.
Based on the fact that Far Harbor introduces its own island with a unique surroundings into Fallout 4, there is accordingly a small additional arsenal of weapons. Some of the guns will effectively help in battle, while the rest will simply be suitable for collection.

Lever Action Rifle
A useful rifle, especially if you like to count shots fired in battle. The rate of fire is low, but it hits long distances and deals powerful damage to enemies. You can find it from random enemies (they can only drop the regular version), buy it from Allen in Far Harbor, or purchase it from Brooks.
Huge chance to get a rifle lever action will be given to you when you complete the quest “Rite of Passage”. Hunting bogmen, there is high probability loss of this weapon. Moreover, this will be the legendary version, and not the usual one, as described above. The characteristics are much better than the standard one. Enemies will crawl in crowds from the most powerful bullets.
Striker
A unique weapon, because he will shoot bowling balls. Many people consider such an implementation useless, but it does a lot of damage. The shooting range is short, but it hits monsters well. It's especially good to shoot into a crowd. You can find him at the Central Bowling Club "Beaver Creek". It is located in the southwest of Far Harbor. There is a huge sign painted on the building, you won’t confuse it with anything. Once inside, pay attention to the left edge of the hall - there is a huge hole in the wall. Enter there, immediately turning right. There in front of you there will be a generator, and behind it a small staircase. She leads you to the office of one of the club's main managers. The same Stryker will be lying on his table.
December's Child
A very good semi-automatic rifle that has a high rate of fire and instant reload. There are two firing modes: firing in bursts and firing one bullet at a time with one pull of the trigger. You can get it at the end of a difficult quest called “Better Left Forgotten...” In this quest you will need to find the secret DiMA laboratory. Having found the storage, you will certainly come across a terminal, there is only one there. Turn it on and pass the security check. Having received it, you will be able to enter the room that was under lock and key. If you can’t do this, then take Valentine with you, he can help open the doors. The rifle is located in the middle of the room on a huge chest, it will be hard not to notice.

Atom's Judgment
A powerful weapon that is intended only for close combat. It is a kind of radioactive hammer that incinerates anyone fierce enemy with one hit. You can only get it for completing the “Heretic” quest. There is also the opportunity to purchase from Richter in Nucleus. He lives near the top of the famous submarine.
Bloodletter
The weapon is a long hook on a sharpened stick. It doesn't look particularly scary, but it can cause serious injuries. You can receive it as a reward for completing the “Bloody Wave” quest. To do this, you should talk to Cassie Dalton in Far Harbor, he will give you this task.
Kiloton Radium Rifle
It is rightfully considered one of the best weapons in Far Harbor. It is a semi-automatic rifle that shoots bullets that will not only explode when hitting the target, but also “sting” the body with radiation. The attacker will receive not only pure damage, but also, if he survives, the radiation will definitely finish him off. The accuracy of the weapon leaves much to be desired, but the magazine is huge, enough for everyone.
You can purchase such a semi-automatic device from Kane at the Children of the Atom base. Don't think that you have to complete a lot of quests for this. Kane's shop is located right next to the submarine.
Harvester
Do you remember the small saws from the original Fallout 4? This weapon can be considered similar, only you still have the ability to stun the enemy at high speed.
You can find it in an abandoned store in the southwestern part of the map. The store is called Echo Lake Lumber.
You will see this building by its red roof, enter it. There will be a ladder in front of you that you should climb. Be careful, the stairs are shaky and there are many old holes and cracks. At the end of the corridor you will find a red chest, our Reaper will be in it.
Butcher's Hook
Crude, but effective. Thanks to it, you can fill all action points after a critical hit. With detailed planning and good gloves, you can make a solid combo. You can purchase it from the super mutant merchant who lives in the center of the map. Remember where plane 1207 crashed (southwest of Far Harbor). Get on the plane, a mutant merchant is already waiting for you. Don't attack him, he will offer you a weapon.
This pocket chainsaw has a high base damage, and the combination of high speed and a chance to stagger your opponent means that you can stun and cut them to shreds very easily.
The weapon can be found at the infested sawmill near Echo Lake, south of the movie theater. Search the cabinets on the top floor, behind the locked door.
Atomic Justice (Far Harbor)
This is perhaps the most strong weapon melee combat in the game. It is capable of inflicting additional radiation damage (40 base + 100 radiation). Spend skill points on the Nuclear Physicist perk and Atomic Justice will deal unrealistically high damage.
Atomic justice
To get your hands on the super hammer, you will need to advance through the expansion's story until you meet the Children of the Atom sect, located in an old underwater base. The great Zealot Richter will send you to complete the quest “The Heretic”. As soon as you find Gwyneth, return to Richter to receive a weapon at the “Core” location as a reward.
Striker (Far Harbor)
This modified Fatman is one of the most iconic weapons in Fallout 4. The regular Fatman lets you unleash a barrage of nuclear bombs. But it has several key disadvantages. Finding nuclear mini-charges is quite difficult, and using such weapons in a cramped room would be completely unreasonable.
Striker
The Striker's projectiles are modified bowling balls. You'll be able to knock off enemies' heads from a distance, but the Demolition Expert perk will not increase the damage in this case.
You will find the Striker at the Beaver Creek Bowling Alley, southeast of the starting location in Far Harbor. Go to the second floor and find the staff room to pick up the Stryker and ammunition for it from the table. Be sure to check the computer to get the blueprints for making modified bowling balls at the chemistry station.
Radium carbine "Kiloton" (Far Harbor)
This unique semi-automatic carbine will help you perform 1-2-3 accurate shot, causing radiation damage to the enemy over time. In addition, the projectiles additionally explode upon contact with enemies, causing them to deal 15 damage to all nearby opponents. Same as with the “Press and Pray” gun. The carbine is completely modified, which means that it can become best weapon ranged in Game.
Radium carbine "Kiloton"
To find this radium carbine“Kiloton”, you need to make your way to the “Core” location, to the shelter of the “Children of the Atom”. After that, you can buy it from Brother Kane for only 500 caps, but you will have to complete the quest “Misty Visions”.
The Admiral's Friend (Far Harbor)
Harpoon cannons are a new weapon class introduced in the Far Harbor expansion. They are powerful, but slow to reload. Here is the best harpoon weapon in the game "Admiral's Friend", which was made possible due to double damage against targets that do not have additional protection. This means that in one shot it will be possible to kill opponents without protection. Thus, the harpoon is great option to complete the game in stealth mode.
Admiral's Friend
You can buy this harpoon as soon as you arrive in Far Harbor. Look for Allen Lee in the gun store for 1500 caps.
And coloring power armor. It's time to tell you about the most interesting thing - a new unique weapon!

The Fallout 4: Far Harbor add-on has a lot of different weapons. Some types of weapons are considered unique and with them in your hands it is more effective to fight against a particular enemy. So the addition brings not only one giant island. The number and variety of weapons that are present in the add-on are surprising. That is why I want to collect absolutely all the weapons that exist in the game, so as not to miss anything and admire + experience everything that is possible. Reaper Sword | How to find? | Location | Bonuses
The Reaper is capable of stunning its target, but only if the attack is successful. And although this sword cannot boast of its damage, it has very high speed attacks! The weapon can be recommended strictly to fans of close combat and simply collectors.
You can find the “Reaper” sword in a location called “Sawmill”, which is located on “Echo Lake” (southwest side of the town of “Far Harbor”). Upon arrival at the specified location, you will have to face a “pack” of crazed ghouls. However, after clearing, do not rush to move on - turn your attention to the dilapidated house. Go inside the house and go upstairs. At the top there will be doors with a lock of medium difficulty level. Immediately after opening the doors, the hero or heroine will again have to face a “pack” of ghouls, but after they are killed, all that remains is to climb even higher, find a chest on the top floor and take the “Reaper” sword from there! Below are screenshots that demonstrate a detailed walkthrough.
Stryker gun | How to find? | Location | Bonuses
"Stryker" is another very interesting weapon, is somewhat reminiscent of the good old “Fat Man”, but instead of cannonballs it shoots bowling balls. However, the most pleasant bonus of this cannon is that the same balls can be collected again, inserted into the cannon again and fired again! Endless ammunition in capable hands!
To find the Stryker, you will need to move from Far Harbor to south direction until you come across an abandoned bowling alley. This place is called Beaver Creek Bowling. It will be easier to recognize this place by the sign outside, so keep that in mind.
So, as soon as you enter inside this place, you will find yourself in the hall. In the hall, go to the farthest corner on the left. Now look around and find a hole in the wall - go through it. Further to the right and go through a room with huge generators. Move forward until you come across a staircase that leads up. After going up the stairs, you will find yourself in the office of the late manager, where the Stryker cannon will lie behind a half-broken wall. Below are screenshots that will make your search easier.
Radium carbine "Kiloton" | How to find? | Location | Bonuses
This radium carbine is a completely new weapon. The “Kiloton” is a semi-automatic machine gun that has radioactive cartridges, but does not have mass lethality, which means it acts strictly on a single target. However, to get this unique weapon, you will have to buy it from a merchant of one faction.
And yet it’s worth starting with where you can buy a Kiloton radium carbine. A semi-automatic rifle is for sale from a character named Brother Kane, who is a member of the well-known faction “Children of the Atom”. The character is at his base, which is located in the submarine hangar.
But getting to the base is not so easy, unless, of course, you want to kill all these characters. First you have to pass the test. Go to the “Core” and talk there with a certain Great Zealot Richter. It is he who is responsible for the test, after passing which you can join the ranks of the “kids”. Complete the first important task, return to the base and talk with the idol. Immediately after this, you will have access to a task called “That’s what Atom wants” and the opportunity to go to the base + talk with local traders.
Once inside, go straight to the very end of the corridor. Continue this way until you see a staircase at the end in front of you. On the second floor there is the same merchant Kane, who has in his assortment the long-awaited semi-automatic carbine.
I recommend that you immediately start testing the gun, because this carbine is distinguished by its average damage and accuracy. Its rate of fire and range are also not far behind. In addition, the baby “Kiloton” causes both radioactive and physical damage. And the bullets will explode on impact, causing damage to all enemies, albeit in a small radius.
Weapon "December's Child" | How to find? | Location | Bonuses
“December’s Child” is first and foremost a rifle. And you can get this unique and inimitable rifle in two ways. The first method is to go to a special location and, having high charisma, undergo terminal identification. Method two - go through story mission, which can be completed towards the end of the adventures in the expansion. All two methods of obtaining weapons + useful bonuses are described below.
Either on assignment, or on your own - in any case, you will have to go to a place called “Vim!” Lemonade Factory. If you are going to enter through the central (aka main) entrance, then turn to left side. Next, go down below and go to the location called “Factory Workshops”. It is also possible to go inside using the back entrance. The main task inside: go through all the workshops and get to the elevator in the same workshops. The elevator is a very ordinary elevator - yes, it sounds strange. So, access to the elevator will be closed by the terminal and the door.
Get into the elevator and go down to the very bottom. And then comes the most important point, because you will be faced with Kim's terminal, which will tell you that you simply do not pass identification. What to do? There are several options, at the moment the two simplest ones are known: 1 - take Nick Valentine with you (as a partner) and use him to open the gate nearby; 2 - talk to the terminal, having high level charisma. In any case, inside is the long-awaited weapon.
The rifle will be interesting because it has a property that allows you to increase the rate of fire by as much as 25%, speed up reloading by as much as 15%, and simply have a reduced weight + you can use 5.56 mm cartridges.
Atomic Justice Hammer | How to find? | Location | Bonuses
Another unique weapon that brings an addition to the world of Fallout. Peculiarity " Atomic Justice"is that it can only be obtained by completing tasks that relate to the Children of the Atom faction. In fact, this weapon is one huge radioactive hammer, which can inflict both radioactive and physical damage.
To get this weapon, you will not only have to join the “Children of the Atom”, but also complete a couple of tasks. As usual, you go to a place called “The Core”, talk with the Great Zealot Richter, pass a test that will allow you to join the ranks of this faction. Complete the first task, which will give you access to the next one - the task: “That’s what Atom wants.” The task consists of several stages, but in one of them you will have to help that same Richter. As a result of this action, the main character or heroine receives the task “The Heretic”, during which he will need to find his sister Gwyneth. Her fate depends on your decision and, frankly, this does not affect getting a weapon in any way. Finding a girl is not difficult.
In any case, after the task, return back to Richter and choose the following line during the dialogue: either “Ask for a reward” or “Glory to the Atom.” All two options lead to you being awarded that very “Atomic Justice”.
This weapon has no special effects other than 100% radioactive and physical damage. In addition, the weapon - a hammer - is slow in itself. That's why such a hulk looks spectacular, and the hammer is equipped with four autonomous cores, just look at it.
Rifle "Old Friend" | How to find? | Location | Bonuses
This weapon is a legendary version of a previously common rifle. Now it is a more accurate and more powerful “machine” for killing enemies. The simple version of this rifle is sold quite leniently from merchants at the Far Harbor pier, but if you intend to buy the legendary version, then you will have to go to Acadia.
In Far-Hrabor, you can buy a cannon from Brooks or Allen. To find them, immediately from the entrance to the city, stick to the left and soon, thus, you will come across their shops. There is also a chance of knocking out such weapons from various bosses, for example, from the swamp womb.
Flamethrower "Sergeant Ash" | How to find? | Location | Bonuses
You can again buy this unique weapon from the same merchant from Acadia. I think everyone understands what this flamethrower weapon is. Another interesting thing is that the word “Ash” on English language means an equally effective word - ashes!
