Who are the Bogdanov brothers? Who are the Bogdanoff brothers: the story of strange and anecdotal pseudoscientists and showmen
Bogdanov brothers or Bogdanoff Brothers(French Les frres Bogdanoff), real names Igor Yurievich Ostasenko-Bogdanov(French: Igor Yourvitch Ostasenko-Bogdanoff) and Grigory "Grishka" Yurievich Ostasenko-Bogdanov(French Grgoire Yourvitch Ostasenko-Bogdanoff, born August 29, 1949 in Saint-Lary, Gers department) are French twin brothers, television presenters, producers and popularizers of science who became famous in the 1970s as hosts of various popular science programs on French television dedicated to cosmology and science fiction. In 2010, the Bogdanov brothers became involved in a scandalous case regarding the unscientific nature of their dissertations and were forced to pay a fine of 2 thousand euros to the French National Center for Scientific Research in Mathematics and Theoretical Physics.
Biography
Origin
Igor and Grigory were born on August 29, 1949 in the French city of Saint-Lary (department of Gers) into the family of Yuri Mikhailovich Ostasenko-Bogdanov (1928-2012), a Russian artist of Tatar origin, who sometimes called himself “Prince Bogdanov,” and Maria (Maya) Dolores Francisze Kolowrat-Krakowska (1928-1982). Igor is 45 minutes older than Grigory.
Yuri Mikhailovich Ostasenko-Bogdanov born on January 28, 1928 in Leningrad in the family of Mikhail Borisovich Bogdanov and Anna von der Osten-Sacken (Ostasenko). Mikhail Borisovich's father, Boris Aleksandrovich Bogdanov, served in the cavalry and died in 1917 during the revolutionary events. Mikhail Borisovich Bogdanov was repressed, and 12-year-old Yuri was evacuated to Slutsk after the start of the siege of Leningrad. During the war, Slutsk was occupied by the Germans and plundered, and Yuri was taken to forced labor in Germany. He managed to get out to neutral Spain, where he was helped by Prince Irakli Bagration-Mukhrani (1909-1977). There, Yuri met his future wife Maya Kolowrat-Krakovskaya. According to documents, Yuri achieved the right to call himself Prince Bogdanov, as a result of which his sons Igor and Grishka have the right to call themselves Prince Bogdanov. Yuri died on August 4, 2012 in Saint-Lary.
Maria Dolores Franziska Kolowrat-Krakowska(Maya Kolowrat-Krakowska) was born on February 28, 1926. She is the illegitimate daughter of the Austrian countess with Czech roots Bertha Henrietta Katherine Nadine Kolowrat-Krakowska (June 21, 1890 - January 29, 1982), sister of cinematographer Alexander Kolowrat-Krakowska (January 29, 1886 - December 5, 1987). It is believed that Maya's real father was the American black opera singer Roland Hayes, who had roots of Cherokee Indians and immigrants from the territory of modern Cote d'Ivoire, but he never recognized children from Bertha. According to the passport, Maya's father was Count Hieronymus von Colloredo-Mansfeld, with whom Maya was officially married. Igor and Grishka studied their ancestry from childhood and were raised by their grandmother Bertha in Schönbrunn Castle in Saint-Lary, where there was a rich library with various books on scientific topics. Maya Kolovrat-Krakovskaya died on May 12, 1982. from cancer: in total, she gave birth to six children (Igor, Grigory, Francois, Laurence, Geraldine and Veronica).
Personal life
Grishka Bogdanov is not married and has no children. Igor was married several times:
- Igor's first wife was actress Genevieve Grad, with whom he had a son, Dmitry, in 1976. However, Igor stated in March 2015 that he did not recognize Dmitry as his son.
- The second wife was Lyudmila d'Oultremont (born July 27, 1965 in Marseille, daughter of Count Marc-Antoine d'Oultremont and Countess Maria Theresa von Gallen). Children: Sasha Maria Ostasenko-Bogdanova (born September 8, 1989 in Paris), Anna Claria Ostasenko-Bogdanova (born March 28, 1991) and Wenceslas Ostasenko-Bogdanov (born August 29, 1994 in Osh).
- In 1994, Igor divorced, and on October 1, 2009, he married writer Amelie de Bourbon-Parme (born March 13, 1977 in Paris). Amelie is the illegitimate daughter of Michel de Bourbon-Parme and Astrid le Bourgeois (according to the press, one of her ancestors was King Louis XVI). The wedding took place officially on October 3, 2009 at the Chateau de Chambord. The marriage produced children Alexander (October 24, 2011) and Konstantin (October 2014).
She is a hereditary aristocrat, he is the son of an emigrant of Russian-Tatar origin and an Austrian aristocrat. They have known each other for 18 years, she is more than 20 years younger than her husband. Igor was previously married to another aristocrat.
She is a blonde beauty, he is...unusual to say the least, but smart and with a great sense of humor.
Amelia is a writer, writing mainly historical novels, and is also a deputy director at the advertising company Havas. Igor Bogdanov studied physics at the university, he is also a famous French showman and writer.
In the fall, Amelia’s new book, “The Emperor’s Secret,” will go on sale, and Igor will present to the public his book, co-authored with his brother Grishka, “The Secret Code of the Universe.” The last book of the Bogdanov brothers, “The Face of God,” was a huge success among readers.
The couple has two children. Their eldest son Alexander is three years old, and the youngest is only two months old.
What is the secret of their happiness? According to Igor, “the key to success is that they are completely different and in no way alike.”
The couple wants their sons to attend traditional Catholic schools.
When asked if she liked everything about her husband’s image, Amelia answered negatively, but she is always ready to compromise and accepts her beloved for who he is. Therefore, wise Amelia, despite the age difference, is the head of the family.

And now...
About Igor and his brother Grishka: brothers, famous writers and TV presenters in France. Twins Igor and Grishka Bogdanoff (Igor et Grichka Bogdanoff) were born in France in 1949. Producers and TV presenters on French television, the Bogdanov brothers are famous for their scientific knowledge. mixing science fiction with the real thing, Igor and Grishka talked about space, unknown stars, aliens from other worlds and extraterrestrials. But their program was almost closed due to numerous complaints received from the parents of their young viewers. Despite the above, the scientific knowledge of the Bogdanov brothers causes mixed reactions from other scientists. They were repeatedly accused of hoaxes, and the French scientist and journalist Pierre Vandegenste even made revelations and stated that “the scientific content of their works is close to zero.” A criminal lawsuit was even filed against Igor.
Several years ago, the brothers' faces changed beyond recognition, especially their cheeks and chin. The brothers were accused of PR in the new appearance of aliens. Many believe that their faces are either the result of elaborate plastic surgery, or an unfortunate consequence of hormone therapy, which could lead to the development of acromegaly. Igor and Grishka are irritated by rumors about the plastic surgeries they have undergone and they continue to deny everything.
Grishka Bogdanov, unlike his brother, is not married.
Known throughout the world, the Bogdanov Brothers were until recently considered French sex symbols. Smart, beautiful, rich - they broke more than a dozen hearts of sophisticated French women. Now, looking at their appearance, even the most steadfast heart will shudder. The passion for plastic surgery has turned the star smart guys into a couple of zombie freaks. Igor and Grishka Bogdanov are an example of how a destructive passion for plastic surgery becomes a stumbling block not only on a woman’s path.
Biography of twins
In 1949, cute twins were born in France. Two beautiful boys were born into the family of Prince Ostasenko-Bogdanov, who immigrated to France from St. Petersburg, and his wife Maria Kolovrat-Krakovskaya. Already at an early age, boys showed a special craving for natural sciences. Physics became a special passion for both of them. After studying at a prestigious university, Igor and Grishka Bogdanov published their first scientific work, “The Key to Science Fiction.”
Their wild popularity led to them being invited to television as TV hosts of the science fiction show “Time X.” For ten years the show has remained on the scientific Olympus. The work of young people to study the theory of the origin of the Universe worries the greatest minds of our time to this day. When the passions around the star couple subsided, they decided to fulfill a long-standing dream - to change their own appearance. Since then, the public has been concerned not with the origin of the world according to their version, but with the origin of such disgusting faces that used to be beautiful, courageous faces.
Plastic surgery of brilliant physicists
They say that scientists are a special people. The cockroaches in their heads often mutate and stage real coups of power. This is what happened to the brains of brilliant men. Photos of former handsome men can now easily compete in disgust with photos.
- Chin plastic surgery. The Bogdanov brothers look a hundred times worse before and after surgery to change their chin. Huge implants inserted into the chin area stand out so much on their faces that it’s difficult to even call them simply human. After plastic surgery, the Bogdanov brothers look like comic book heroes. The feeling that the entire genius brain has flowed into a huge reservoir on the beard.
After the operation, the couple can think only with their “manly” chins. It is striking that the twins are perplexed: “The strangest thing is that we have never resorted to the help of plastic surgeons. I wonder why everyone asks us about this?” Really, why?
- Plastic surgery of cheekbones. Incredibly, the Bogdanov brothers were unhappy with their faces before plastic surgery. Men with Russian roots were so unwilling to put up with this state of affairs that they entered into a battle with nature for the possession, in their opinion, of beautiful faces. Before plastic surgery, Grishka Bogdanov said that he wanted to be not only beautiful, but against all the laws of physics, he also wanted to be forever young.
His double, Igor Bogdanov, completely agreed with his relative before plastic surgery.
The operations performed to pump up the cheekbones with silicone went as usual. After the operation, the Bogdanov brothers declared to the gasping public that the culprit for their swollen faces was not the surgical scalpel, but the disease. Making excuses for their puffy face with bumpy cheeks, the couple blamed a disease of the pituitary gland, which causes enlargement of the skull bones.
- Lip augmentation. Before the operation, the inseparable Bogdanov brothers attracted the attention of French women with their curved and beautiful lip line. Mother Nature initially did not deprive each of the men of beauty. Now Grishka Bogdanov, after plastic surgery to contour his mouth, suffered much more than his twin. Internet users notice that every year the lips of their doubles become larger and larger. This fact indicates a constant replenishment of subcutaneous silicone reserves.
- Skin tightening. 67-year-old Igor Bogdanov, after plastic surgery to tighten his skin, looked noticeably younger; even his brother cannot boast of the same tight skin. However, both had to say goodbye to the remnants of naturalness in their appearance. Now they have become like actors in a circus of freaks. Note that the couple did this quite consciously and voluntarily.
- Botox injections. The Bogdanov brothers, before and after plastic surgery, remain true to their desire to never grow old. For this illusory goal, men are ready to do a lot. They systematically inject Botox into their swollen faces.
A flammable mixture of Botox with silicone, seasoned with a tan from a solarium, produces an indelible effect. Sometimes they say that a man should be a little more beautiful than a monkey. In this regard, “identical in appearance” definitely loses to primates.
Personal life of twins
No matter how strange it may sound, even for such a “product” as Igor Bogdanov, after plastic surgery, there was a “merchant”. Igor’s wife was not just a woman, but a person of royal blood, Amelie de Bourbon-Parme. And this is not the first marriage of a disfigured man.
Grigory remains a bachelor, only envying his brother’s success.
After all the operations performed, the twins' heads look as if they had bricks sewn into them. Brilliant twins after plastic surgery may themselves soon become objects of study for science fiction scientists.
Video: The Bogdanov brothers: the story of changes in appearance
Twin brothers with a Russian surname and noble roots, Igor and Grishka Bogdanoff (or, as they are called in their homeland in France, Igor and Grichka Bogdanoff) are among the most famous victims of plastic surgery on the planet. French TV presenters, who gained incredible popularity in the 80s, performed more than a dozen operations in an attempt to preserve youth and beauty. It was not possible - either the surgeon they came across was cross-handed, or numerous interventions in nature did their job, but today the 67-year-old brothers look like two monsters from a horror film. One of them - Igor Bogdanov - came to the Cannes Film Festival and walked along the red carpet.
In recent years, the man’s face has finally “swimmed” and turned into a frightening mask. It would seem that with such an appearance he has little chance of love. But, incredibly, Igor enjoys unprecedented popularity among the opposite sex. Bogdanov was officially married three times, the last time he got married in 2009 with the French writer Amelie de Bourbon-Parme, the heiress of the Bourbons and the great-great-great-granddaughter of Louis VI. The couple had two children, which, however, did not save their marriage. At the Cannes Film Festival, Igor proudly led his next passion by the arm - 33-year-old model Julie Jardon. The TV presenter’s new common-law wife is 34 years younger than him, but it seems that this blond fairy is not at all embarrassed by her lover’s age or appearance.
Another brother, Grishka Bogdanov, was never married. So all the fame as a ladies' man went to Igor. In recent years, the brothers (for obvious reasons) no longer host television programs. But they write books and actively participate in social events and book fairs.
The Bogdanov brothers were born in France, their father, the artist Yuri Mikhailovich Ostasenko-Bogdanov, was from Leningrad. During the war, 12-year-old Yuri, who was evacuated to Slutsk, was captured by the Germans and taken to work in Germany. From there he managed to escape to Spain and then to France. After the war, Yuri married the Czech Countess Maria Dolores Kolowrat-Krakowska.
The brothers became famous thanks to physics - they started as scientists. In the 1980s, the cute twins made their way onto French television, where they had their own science fiction TV show. The brothers also wrote many scientific books, although they were criticized by other researchers - according to competent scientists, the brothers’ works have no scientific value.
In the 90s, due to failures in scientific activities, TV presenters fell into depression. In addition, they began to notice that time was not kind to their appearance, and in the early 90s the brothers had their first plastic surgery. And then they went under the surgeon’s knife again and again. Igor and Grigory no longer look younger, but now they look a lot like monsters from horror films. They not only did a lot of lifts, but also inserted implants into the cheeks and chins, and also pumped gel into the lips and injected Botox. But many people think that only women are obsessed with plastic surgery. The Bogdanov brothers are a living example that refutes this myth.
Igor Bogdanov with his companion in Cannes.
The other day, French TV presenter Igor Bogdanov reminded of himself with his sudden appearance on the Cannes red carpet. It was difficult not to notice Igor - he is very different from how other people look, and especially in contrast to his charming companion. It is Igor (and his twin brother Grishka) who usually end up on the list of men who failed to stop with plastic surgery in time and brought their appearance to caricatured results.
Igor Bogdanoff and 33-year-old model Julie.
Igor and Grishka Bogdanoff (Igor and Grichka Yourievitch Osten-Sacken-Bogdanoff) are famous personalities within France. Once upon a time, when they were still young and looked quite attractive without any intervention of surgery, they ran their own program about science and wrote various science fiction works related to cosmology and fantasy. Once they even managed to publish their “physics research” in a fairly reputable scientific publication, which in fact was almost completely fictional.

Fame is not eternal, and even scandals cannot support it, and the years gradually began to take away the former attractiveness of the brothers. At some point, they both became depressed, and around this time they decided that the best way to maintain their youth and popularity would be plastic surgery.
Today, Igor Bogdanov is 67 years old.
Needless to say, the brothers regained their glory, but not at all what they could boast of in their youth. Now Igor and Grishka are regularly included in lists of victims of plastic surgery - they both have had so many injections and operations that their faces look like failed masks. Of course, their monstrous chins are especially striking. It's hard to believe that they themselves find it attractive, but what's even more incredible is that they seem beautiful to other people. Igor, for example, only had three official marriages (as a result of which he had six children), and it’s impossible to count how many fleeting affairs.

Bogdanov brothers from France.
Igor Bogdanov appeared on the Cannes red carpet with his companion, Julie Jardon, a French model. She is 33, he is 67, but the girl seems not at all embarrassed by the age difference or Igor’s peculiar appearance.
Igor had three wives, and his current companion is 34 years younger than him.
Interestingly, both brothers speak not only French, but also German, English and even a little Russian. As the twins admit, this is thanks to their parents, who kept an extensive library at home in different languages and in every possible way encouraged their children to learn new things. Igor and Grishka’s father, artist Yuri Mikhailovich Ostasenko-Bogdanov, was from Russia, from Leningrad. During the war, Yuri was captured by the Germans, and then fled to France, where he later married the Czech countess Maria Dolores Kolowrat-Krakowska.
Igor is not embarrassed by his monstrous appearance; he believes that this appearance perfectly reflects his inner world.
Now both brothers write almost nothing and rarely appear in public, which is why Igor’s presence in Cannes was received with enthusiasm by journalists. Although, in fairness, it must be admitted that last year the brothers managed to attract attention again thanks to a silly video for the pop song "Bogdanoff".
